  1. That first B-81 looks like its ready to pull a piece of equipment somewhere, right now!
  2. That's true.Auction items go to the highest bidder, like it or not! I'm sure the seller was happy
  3. I agree Vinny. But on the other hand, when you look at the prices on a new 5 yard dump truck $19,995 (for a Mack,no less) ,doesn't sound too bad! You can ask any price you want to,doesn't mean you'll get it!
  4. Nice save there, guy. You came to the right place! Good luck with it & HAVE FUN
  5. Could actually be a RD 795.They had 10 5/8" x 5/16" steel frame rails as standard equipment.
  6. Ouch! Out of my league. Mine will look OK at 55 mph. Just don't look at them when it's parked!
  7. Would be interested in some Budd hubs for a Mack FA 505 front axle. Thanks ....Al
  8. So many MACKS,so little time & $!!!! Yet another nice truck I would love to own!
  9. Joe I think the former Lou DeCampo H was an H-67.The Roadway H is an H-63.Your right about Harry Muhlschlagel (?) owning the H's,though. He had the both of them.Matt Pfahl did the Roadway truck for Harry.I don't know who restored the Lou DeCampo H for him. Both beautiful trucks, though. Al
  10. Definetly not one of our DM's! Ours have no less than 1/4 yard of concrete in 'em! LOL ...nice truck!
  11. Nice pics,Vinny.Hope your Nana is feeling better.
  12. Looks straight. Not a bad price either. When that front bumper lasts this long,it couln't have been beat too bad.
  13. Also apprears to have an Illinois Commerce Commission decal on the yellow stripe. The only company I can think of that used those colors (based in Salt Lake City) was Garrett(later bought out by ANR).HMMMMM?
  14. I have too,Matt. They always seemed to have an extended version of the bumper.Personally,I like the extended bumper better (for dump work). It meant the fiberglass was further away! (less damage)
  15. I'll take 'em all! I like that Canadian horn button too,Vinny.Thats a first for me,never seen one before.
  16. I think the "door dog" started with 1st U's & R's and ended with the start of the passenger door washer bottle,if I remember right (around '77-'78).Early MB's and RS/RL & FL/FS used B series side dogs first before switching to the "half dogs".Bendix must have lost the contract for their dual trumpet "ZephAIRtone" in the mid '80's (replaced by the Hadley version).Single Grovers were an available option since the '50's that I know of. The "deep" bumpers started showing up around '76 ( on R's,U's F's but earlier on the Cruise-Liner) & round fuel tanks as standard equipment had to be around '78.The bumper/tow hook arrangements were many, as you say Matt. I had the channel bumper (std.) on my '90 RD.I could have gotten the deep bumper, but I thought I'd let the CAT's push the gravel, seeing I brought it there!!
  17. Good Luck, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
  18. Happy Birthday,Jumper
  19. We never do stuff like that around here! LOL Everything is by the book. Our state is too busy putting crooked politicians in jail to bother with us!!!!!
  20. Happy Birthday,Jim .......sorry I'm late, was out driving the BCR around!
  21. Good job,Ben.You won't sleep well until you can get out and wheel that thing around!
  22. We had a local gravel hauler around here that would go so far as to switch doors on trucks (that used a rivited serial # plate) and windshields that carried the Illinois safety sticker on them when trucks would break down.Sounds like a lot of B.S. to me,but they did it!
