  1. I did notice that Mike, just forgot to mention it.Just didn't think the year matched the truck right off the bat!
  2. Seems like MACK changed the dash(and cab) mid year '73 model production. The early '73's were still steel, late '73's padded. That is a nice complete truck.I like the genuine MACK accessory door panels.
  3. Took the words right out of my mouth,Jim.Those old ads are always cool to see. There are a few concrete silos in the state of Wisconsin still advertising "Miller High Life Beer",They had to be painted 50-60 years ago,and are fading fast, unfortunately.Nice picture,Vinny.
  4. I say '70-'72 R685 because of the 5 speed, dark green METAL dash, small letters on hood, etc. "Good Title" doesn't always mean its for THAT truck! Although it looks fairly staight and unmolested, though! I think the bumper is a '76,but thats it!
  5. Looks like a "Glider Kit" when sitting like that,Vinny!
  6. Mike, only you and Mr. Haney (from Green Acres) "just happened to have one on the truck"! Pays to have a good pit crew on call!
  7. I have a hard time purchasing anything "sight unseen" anyway,Rob.And even when you see it,the sandblaster will reveal its weak spots!
  8. Thats allright Vinny, you've got a REAL one! Not every 12 year old can say that!
  9. That cab looks decent. There can't be too many good steel dash cabs left.
  10. Jim has had that truck on the road for many years,as you know. When I started in '86 it still had the Detriot in it.He since put a 350 Mack in it,went from camelback to taper leaf to air ride.I would not be afraid of that truck at all.It was always kind of different with the Detriot and that Roadway-style under the hood air cleaner.
  11. Overpriced, for sure. But then again, someone could be pulling containers with it next week!
  12. Always liked the Brocks,Mike.Even though no Pedigree Powertrain was available.Often wondered if that would have changed the course of Brockway history by offering Mack powertrains in them?Probably not.I think it was a labor issue. At least thats what Mack says.
  13. Looks like a handy truck, there Vinny.Superdog could probably use that & give the Dodge a break!
  14. Check this one out.Owners aren't ready to get rid of it,yet. It has an END 864 & quad box.It has been garage kept it's whole life. One of just 208 C615's built! Let alone C615ST's!
  15. Fred said he had to get rid of it,though. There was rumblings about some new kid in upstate New York that was going to corner the market on U models and all things related to them, and he didn't want to be a slave to such a young tyrant!
  16. Spotter, This was at Barry R.'s in Mt. Morris!
  17. Nice truck there,BC!! Yeah the 20,000 fronts whether in a DM, RD,etc. required the two boxes and was included in that axle option. If I remember right, the drivers side box was (like always)the actual steering box.The right box is set up to be a booster.IH used the same type of arrangement also.
  18. Matt,That wheel was actually a black Super or Value -Liner steering wheel.I repaired the cracks in it & had it painted with white Imron.I too was amazed at the finished product! You can fix those old cracked steering wheels, don't throw 'em away! Vinny,Mine are all original! I carefully masked them before painting them.Up close you can tell they're used.Ya, could have said something about the operating range (rpm's) or something, huh?
  19. Bob,I hate to tell you this but my cousin found a bunch of those same horn button "cap" as you call them.He sold them on ebay about a year and a half ago.I think he got about $10.00 a piece for them.A bargain for someone. Thanks for your comments!
  20. What is it ,Mike? A B-20-30? It IS nice!
  21. Was this truck painted blue,Brad? Originally MACK Green ,maybe?
  22. 10-4 on that! Yeah, the entry height on that AT&T trailer would be better.Especially, for the guy who's looking at it! He could be a "tire eater" himself! In fact he's probably looking for a lift gate for it as we speak!! I have seen some drop frame vans on G.L., but only once and a while.
  23. Oh, let me see....U GUY 75....VINS 75....SIDEWNDR (if that fits)..OFFSET....I'm sure the guys could come up with some more ideas too!
