  1. That is cool, thanks for posting the pictures
  2. Thats OK Vinman,we all need to vent once and a while!! You're excused. Technology is great, when it works!!! Right?
  3. Jim,Yes it did look great,I thought.Another "tasteful" option to the "Green Dash" (no pun intended). Those were some cool pics you guys posted. My library is not as accessable as yours,at the moment! Mike Parkhurst said in one article that he chose Mack form the film, because MACK had actually given him the "time of day" when he contacted them for the rights to use their trucks in his movie! I suspect Zenon Hansen had ALOT to do with that! As he wanted to make sure that MACK was a household name! That "for sale" ad might have even been in the coveted "Jubilee Issue",Jim. I do have that one also(in the back of the attic!)
  4. Stands to reason,Jim.Thanks!
  5. Mark, I'll try to get to my collection. It is far back in my attic.I have so many brochures and magazines up there that haven't seen daylight since Bush Sr. was president! I do remember the ad for both, though. It was your chance to own perhaps the 2 most famous trucks in movie history! Don't know how famous the trucks were if you never read the tons of OVERDRIVE mags they were in.Then again, WHO (in this crowd) didn't read OVERDRIVE in the '70's -'80's? I myself had never seen MOONFIRE until I bought it 2 years ago The RL had an ENDT673C (built) with quadbox and the FL had the ENDT864 and triplex! Prices were like $25,000 for thr RL and $20,000 for the FL if I remember right.!
  6. See Vinny, chicks dig U models!! I turned down the sound and cued up "Hello,I'm aTruck" by Red Simpson!
  7. I'd love to hear that twin turbo run too! I think the FL cabover in MOONFIRE was supposed to have that motor in it,also. I have one old issue that listed both the RL & the FL for sale and showed the specs of both.
  8. Don't know if it still holds true,LSI,back in '88 I looked at a truck at Quincy Mack. The salesman told me that Sharkey owned Quincy Mack. What better way to get a deal on parts, service and trucks, right?
  9. No kiddin'!!! Nobody knows more about this stuff, than the O/O and the small fleet owner! I threw in the towel 12 years ago and went to work for someone else then.I couldn't even imagine being an O/O or small fleet owner today! They just don't know how it feels to be us!
  10. I hear you ,Ron.Its great to see all the friends we've made over the years, but we can only go so far.
  11. Thanks ,Jocko.Apprieciate that!
  12. They were very popular around our area here,Mike. Farr is located in nearby Crystal Lake in what was the old P & H Diesel Engine plant. I think they were called "Farr Dynacell" air cleaners.
  13. Great to hear that!! As Superdog said"That would have made front page news" in the MACK world, especially!! Glad to hear he's still with us! Thanks for the update
  14. Close one is right!!!
  15. Good luck with the new purchase! Looks good from here! Should be fun!
  16. Me as well, too little work-too high fuel prices! Thankfully we have enough local shows! Its not hard to put $100.00 in the tank any time I take it out. Any during the week activities or shows are nixed untill work gets better anyway!
  17. Just a thought-are the speaker grounds (& all radio grounds) good?
  18. The description almost made me break out in song.............".There ain't a driver,or a rig, runnin' any line, that seen nuthin' but taillights from ........................"you know the rest!!.
  19. Who could blame 'em? He needed a couple after all that, just to "settle the dust" !!!!
  20. KCAM, were those Colonial trucks the same ones that Beaver Valley Ready Mix rebuilt in the 70's? They were featured in an BULLDOG article.I think they were sold in the 90's at an auction? Sorry, suffering from C.R.S.!!!
  21. Those ARE nice trucks,DodgeMan!! You should be proud of them old dogs!
  22. Nope! Didn't see anyone opening the doors on the trailer to see what they could grab, either!
  23. I have one of those "early R or U or off-road MACK" badges, myself. Not ready to get rid of it yet.But when I do ,Vinny.you'll have first dibbs! I can see why they didn't use them long,THEY WEIGHED A TON!!! Probably pulled that chunk of fiberglass they were mounted on, right out of the hood!!!
