  1. I bet they dusted that truck off, replace a few broken lenses (if it even had any),and put 'er right back in service. The trailer, however.not so lucky!
  2. Nice pictures,Tim.Yeah I wonder where it is too? It's probably hauling gravel or containers around yet! Maybe one day MACK will do a search for the oldest running CH! My wife and I went to Quincy Mack Sales in early '88 to look at a used RL 686 S.Our salesman,Norm Rhea, showed us some pictures of a CH that had been shown to the salesmen at Allentown for a sales meeting.I remember thinking, thats never going to replace the R (with the following that it had)! They showed me! I never have driven one (except to move it around in a yard). It took a while for them to grow on me,but what the heck they still had a bulldog on the hood I've heard pros and cons about 'em,but thats with anything. I know one thing, you see an awful lot of them with a bunch of miles on 'em,still working everyday!! And why shouldn't you, they're !!!!!!!
  3. The B actually looks pretty good considering the wall it had to crash through! The trailer looks like it was just too tall for the second floor! Yeah B67, maybe mama seen papa coming
  4. I think I've stayed there before Seriously, The guy thought it was a "Drive-In" resturant!
  5. Likewise,Mike.I ran an ad in the Wheels of Time for anybody that knew anything about BCR's or had any manuals ,ads, etc. on them.Marv called me and told me he had 5 or 6 in his yard! he told me they kitted them.he had one with a 237 and a quad box.He said he wouldn't sell that one.The others I could have for $500-$1000 a piece! Told him I had one, just was looking for more info on them.Had the pleasure of shaking his hand at Macungie 3 weeks later! Gene Olson told me he had been in a bad wreck that had left him in bad shape,a year or so before I met him.Another nice guy in the hobby!
  6. Thanks Jim and Mike for the info! I hadn't got that brochure until a couple of years ago, and I can't find it. I'll have to look through my BULLDOG collection to see if I have that one( and scan the U models for Vinny!),Mike. How about the ET-1005? Was that ever produced or was it a prototype? I remember seeing that somewhere. See Vinny, never too old to learn something!!
  7. Oh yeah,Mike.Thanks.I trust you and Wendy did the same.Good seeing you two, as always! We got held up in Walcott for a couple hours.Went in the museum. Was a couple of years since I was in there.WOW! 3 times the space now! Was still kind of empty, but will be full soon I'm sure! Had to get the buffett and then go shopping, you know!
  8. Looks complete from here! Thats not a bad price either!
  9. I don't know if they ever put the Big V8 in the Cruise-Liner.Maybe towards the end of its run in the "facelift" square-grille ones.I do remember the 325hp Maxidyne and the 375hp Thermodynes being offered(not to mention the KT-450 Cummins).Hmmmm? Anybody know?
  10. Talk about your MONSTER TRUCK! A local guy that shows up to the Southern Wis. Chapter-ATHS Show in Richland Center, Wis. has an R 400 set up like that. They definetly look cool!
  11. These days that could be recreated with a good picture, you know? That WOULD be a good wagon for Vinny!
  12. ......And much more reliable,I might add! Plus that socket set you bought umteen years ago, fits everything on this truck( NO mm's HERE).No sensors,no antilock,no gps,no computer, and you can sit on the floor like your drivin' a PETERBILT All for a lot less $$$ and more smiles per gallon!!
  13. Nothing is ever too far gone,in the world of truck restoring,is it? I was thinking the same thing,Paul! It could be brought back.
  14. Beats what I ever got,"what in the HELL do you want with that thing?" is about all I ever heard during my ownership of said sleeper! That"s quite alright, just knowing it went to someone who could use it,is fine with me. Glad it is working out in the "goodie" end of it ,as well!
  15. Likewise there,Rob.Glad the ride to your son's house went alright. You might try taking the bench seat out of ,Ol Crusty and install a good used Viking T-Bar seat! Now you can drive all over creation with 'Ol Crusty, now that a you have a place to sleep, wherever you go!
  16. The sleeper has been picked up tonight by none other than the Bloated Dieselholic-Rob! Bloated yes,Dieselholic ?......OK! I'm sorry Rob,didn't mean to say you might tip a U model on it's side just by climbing into it but...................... ..
  17. They went for $1814.00! Too rich for my blood! I think I'lll just clean up my old ones.
  18. Watch out for a Presidential motorcade (just in case PBO is in town)! The whole midwest will have to come to a grinding halt, much like our economy! (wait, thats really not that funny,Al)
  19. Seen a few over the years on e-Bay.If I say $25-$30,some guy will come along at $60.00! Whatever the traffic will allow,I guess? Just depends on how bad that guy needs it,today!
  20. Whole fleet of '89-'91 Superliner mixers are on the Truckpaper.com! Again mis-marked,they won't be seen until you get to the 7th page of RD 690's.They are listed as RD 690S's. Yet another applicaion of the Super-Liner! These guys selling these trucks need to click on to BMT if they can't read the I.D. tag on the door. We'll tell them what they got, right? They're in Cullyfonia,as the Govenator would say!
  21. Joe-seen that episode myself(watch it on the computer).Oh, it's shorter than the 72",huh? Thats short, but then look at the shack on the back! Definetly a one-off truck.I have an old OVERDRIVE mag from the 70's, where they interviewed Evel.On the American Trucker series, yeah there is a bit of drama involved. But as one member of our chapter says,"if the kids watch it,it might get them involved in the hobby".He could be right!
  22. No kiddin'! Hey,millions are depending on YOU!
  23. Looked online last night,Joe.J.C. Whitney still has a Mr. Gasket 3-speed conversion kit for $79.00! I think it was called Mr. Shift when I bought one in '77! Anyway, Hurst has one for around $220.00.I think the Hurst would be beefier for what i am using it for.My 1989 IH S-1654-7.3 N,5 spd.direct Spicer,Dana r.a. 4.33 ratio.lots of vibes from that 7.3.No more than usual.Just better go with the stronger set up! I'm tired of the 7.3 SCREAMING @ 60mph!. .86 to 1 top hole in the the 3 spd, should bring the R's down a little anyway!
  24. Why Not? Hey,was just looking at pics of the one out in Nv.Looks pretty cool! Doesn't look all hacked up from here.Hope it is as nice as the pics!
  25. Not all 12 speeds had the second stick. Some just had a toggle valve on the dash(especially later models).Seen them both ways.
