  1. ......Right in the gutter you go,Rob.................
  2. I'd like to,but I haven't found that bag of money yet!
  3. 10-4 on the nice pictures!
  4. HA,HA,HA,HA.......How true!!!
  5. Yep,you needed something to fill that gap between the tiny radiator/shutter assy. of the B-61,and the now HUGE opening of the R series hood! The last time I was at the museum(it was still by the Lehigh Valley Airport,Allentown),Dale Guth told me they had just found the assembly intructions(in the form of Mack Service Bulletins) and he copied them and mailed them to me! What a bunch of information!! "Cut off this bracket & reweld here" was used a few times! The next year at Macungie a guy was selling the very same packet of information.Don't know if he got it from MACK or they got it from him? Not going to make any judgement about that.Just glad I have a copy, thanks to Dale Guth.
  6. Heres the picture and caption(zoom in on "D"),Superdog. Its from an old Canadian Mack Bulldog magazine from like '74! Wonder what that guy did with that cab? Frank Szabo from out east, knew of a converted B-70 series wrecker in N.Y. that was pretty rough, but all the important pieces were there.I don't know what ever happened There.that was several years ago.Enjoy!
  7. Guys, I have posted a few pictures in my gallery "57 bcr's Trucks".Here's another! Superdog as soon as I can dig up the pictures,I will publish one of a B-73 that was converted, using the R-700 hood(very, very rare). The Mack Museum estimates somewhere between 4-5,000 of the BCR kits were sold.My next version of a B-61 will be built using the Clariben fiberglass hood. Not the prettiest version of the B.But yet another example of what you could do with a B.(if you wanted to)!
  8. Who's the cute little winch,in the background,Rob?
  9. Thanks.I wrote a little tribute to their company along with a little history of the truck.Mrs. Severson asked if I could make a copy for her.I offered to pay for a membership in the ATHS or ATCA but Mr. S. wasn't interested.Guess he was all through with trucking! We'll have to keep this thing going.
  10. I'm on my way, little buddy! Always good to see other BCR's out there! Thanks for taking the pics there,Green Dash Along with the cab, hood, grille filler panels, bag of brackets, you also got a new steering gear with a short shaft on it so you could adapt the R's steering column to it.$3000.00 from your Mack parts counter and 60 man/hours of labor and you could catapult yourself right into the 70's!! (and yes it uses the stock B-61 radiator)
  11. I've heard that time and time again ,Trent.Guys have actually been told that by Ill. State Troopers. They will pull clean trucks over before a dirty, filthy ,no matching rubber, one brake working, steer tires I wouldn't run on a trailer, type of junker running up and down our roads. That way they keep their nifty uniforms clean, while moms carrying their kids to the store or activities, wonder if that truck with big shark teeth in the grille, is going to end up in back seat with kids at the next red light!
  12. Thats too bad B67. Mr. Severson let me copy this photo. When I gave it back to him,he rolled it up as if it was a useless flyer from his mailbox.I could have cried. He then proceeded to tell of the 3 dumpsters full of parts, manuals, etc. that they had just thrown away. His wife seemed more interested in the BCR than he did.Oh well, nice guy nonetheless.Funny how some folks just don't think there history matters. Thanks for the comment!
  13. Nice rails! Got your brochure from a pretty, friendly woman at MATS a couple of years ago! If I ever need any frame rails,I'm calling this place up!
  14. 10-4, Vinny!! Thanks for posting the pictures!
  15. Like the long w.b. Sharp truck!!
  16. Whats it say on the door "Lost my Storage" LOL!!!
  17. Always liked that logo best! The 2 before it weren't bad either!
  18. Doug, I have one of those B-61 hoods and plan to use it on my B some day! They're not as pretty as the regular hood, but I feel they are an important part of history of these never dying B models! Besides, when was the last time you seen one at a show? I never have.I know of a few lying around,as Celli Trucking Co. of Schiller Park,Ill had a bunch of them in the 70's. Thanks for posting the brochure. I have the same one along with the price list and letter from Ben the guy that made them!
  19. From the album: 57 BCR's Trucks

The Severson's also converted one of the other B's in this picture to a BCR.That one was cut up or wrecked, years ago.
  20. From the album: 57 BCR's Trucks

.My truck # 24 when it was a brand new B, 1957!Kind of a different turn signal arrangement,no air horns,no stack.Kind of stripped down.
  21. Thats why we have the transportation board on BMT! I hear ya,its that sight unseen stuff that can make you regret a purchase!
  22. Old Ben Bruckner would have never stood for that!
  23. That same "truck cannot be more than ____ years old" B.S. has been around forever. And I think Ron (b61) is right! I've known many o/o's with excellent trucks & records that should be at the top of the pecking order, but since they and their PAYED OFF power units are well expierianced and won't work for free, companies use that against them.I used to see a few companies requiring that the truck just be able to pass or have a curent D.O.T. inspection.Thats fair in my book. But as in so many other things in our daily life, insurance companies govern the way we live. And this is no exception.
  24. That is a nice early F!
