  1. I remember reading in an OVERDRIVE from the late '60's,about the closing of the branch on Alemeda. Mike Parkhurst was not in agreement with MACK management for closing it,as I recall. Can't remember where it moved to.? Al
  2. Was thinking the same thing, guys. Glad I had a good one last year. Hope you did too. Al
  3. You guys are readin' my mail! Those old phone book ads are cool. Look through old programs and such for the ads featuring dealerships, trucking companies, and the like. Always an interesting read in my book. Love the old ads featuring phone numbers of 4 digits or less! Al
  4. Not enough programs, fullfuel. Like anything else:"What can you do for me now that someone else can pay for". We also have to blame the shows like this that are making a mockery of the stupid things sh*theads say. Notice they didn't show the young people that knew what they were talking about. I still believe there are many young people that know what's going on. I pray to God they get out and vote to protect some of their future. Jakebrake86,I know of you and many others in your age group that know and understand damn well what is at stake here. This kind of crap is done for entertainment value, and that too is sad. Al
  5. The quad axle looks like a Richard Hribar(Ry-bar)or Hribar Sand & Gravel truck. The Hribar family has been trucking around S. Wis. since wheels were invented. They were known for rebuilding trucks several times. Looks like they're still at it. That DM looks to be around an '86 or older,as they extended the front end to accommodate the CMCAC (starting with the '87 models I believe). Somewhere I have a picture of that Floyd's B-67 wrecker.Nice pics,Brian. Al
  6. What they said razorback .......looks good to me. I call it,"doing your part to beautify America" Al
  7. All out of likes gearhead, but I hear ya! Remember the "Children are our future" slogan?...........the future looks pretty bleak, doesn't it! Just plain sad. Al
  8. I'd like to say unbelievable Paul, but this day and age nothing surprises me..............................sh*t for brains youths (yutes).... Al
  9. Looks like an old E.A. Christensen Roofing truck,Mike. They were out of Milwaukee as I recall.Always had sharp Bulldogs. Their in - house paint shop would also do outside work on the side. Al
  10. That is a cool video. Thanks for posting. Al
  11. She's a real flower of womanhood.......A blooming idiot! My .02 Al
  12. Seems to me,PennDot had to be the biggest user of them. I like them also. Just look better to me. I wasn't big on the sloped-hood RD. But if I had one, I'd do the same thing. Al
  13. Anything you choose will be great! Don't see too many oil trucks. I think Paul (41chevy)posted an old Gulf station with a B-61T semi in it. Cool pic. Good luck with it. Al
  14. Looks like a big job,but you got the right man on it! Al
  15. Like 85snowdog & Superdog say,the big difference in the RD over the R is the frame rail height. I know of a '90 RD688 tractor running around here with a 5/16" single frame,12F 38R on Neway air ride. An RD came standard with a 12K front axle and was single framed. Heavy axles and frames were optional. Al
  16. Some outfit used to make those poles. Used to see them used often out east. Seems like during the '70's & '80's,the BULLDOG & Overdrive would show truck with them on 'em. Al
  17. Seen it on craigslist also,Kevin.Looks decent. But I am working on another deal myself. Don't need anything now either, but you know how us old MACK junkies are! LOL Al
  18. Happy Birthday,guys! Al
  19. Thanks for posting! Al
  20. Our government is good for putting American workers back in the soup line, isn't it. "We're from the government,we're here to help".......NOT! Al
  21. Remember that also. It was in OVERDRIVE and OWNER OPERATOR Cummins ads, as well. It's pretty cool, when companies do this. Any company that gives a crap about their heritage, should have contests like this.To me,MACK has always been respectful of their heritage.Even though we may disagree with some the present ideals. Like 'em or not,Volvo did put 9 million dollars into the MACK Customer Center (instead of tossing history away like the White archives into a preverbial dumpster which was saved by the ATHS).My 02 Al
  22. You got that right! Al
  23. Good deal,Kevin. They know who will take good care of it. Al
  24. Nice that they left it alone. Milwaukee Mack has the same look to it.It was on the list as a FB back in the day, also. Very cool. Thanks for posting. Al
