  2. A little blast from the past..........Abbott's B model,Jim Dawson's Hank,Abbott R model,Bob Eckstein's blue RL!
  3. Another old pic found of the blue one when Bob had it.Still with a single KW bunk on it.Parked next to one of Abbott's R models and Jim Dawson's Hendrickson. This was in Lake Zurich,Ill. Mid '70's
  4. b61mack(Ron) sent me these awhile back of an early "Big Block" Mack V-8 in a Superdog he had bought the sleeper off of. Al
  5. Here are some pics of that John Hennes Trucking CH from a Wisconsin Motor Carriers show in the old Mecca Arena in Milwaukee,Wis. This had to be in the early '90's.Some pics of their B-615 parked next to it,also. Al
  6. Owl was located in Ca. or Nv.,as I recall. Like Mike said, they were famous for their shop built trucks. I remember reading a story in either HDT,Fleet Owner,or OVERDRIVE (years ago) about a Pete cabover they modified from new. They made it like 10 feet wide for some BIG stuff they were movin'. Definetly looks like IH Westcoaster fenders. Al
  7. Tough trucks,those DM's!
  8. Well,at least you didn't lose your fender, battery box,and batteries like a good friend of mine did when his right front steer tire decided to expire. It does suck, but at least no one got hurt and relatively little property damage, right? It is a cool truck, though. Enjoy it!
  9. When a MATS a few years ago,a gentleman from PacBrake told me they build all the Jake Brake models and their replacement parts, that Jacobs did not want to carry any longer. He told me there parts(and assemblies) would interchange with the original Jacobs parts. Might try a PacBrake distributor. Al
  10. Be careful out there RR. Wish you the best of luck. Al
  11. Man oh man! She's a beauty!
  12. What other occupation has had as many songs sung about it? The real XM channel "America",did an all day show on just truckin' music one time. There was a bunch of songs I had never heard on that program. Sure miss that station. Al
  13. Ahh.Guess I have been thinking those round vented units were made Red Dot. Thanks for clearing that up. Al
  14. I will try to get them on along with some others tomorrow,Mike. Al
  15. It does look decent. I haven't seen a Red Dot A/C unit like that, not all busted up,in I don't know how long? Halfway to becoming a Storkmack truck! Al
  16. The B-61 & CH you are thinking of Mike, belonged to John Hennes Trucking of Milwaukee. Ironically, the B-615 was pictured in my latest Teamster magazine, that arrived yesterday.I was going to mention Burch's Dunn Coal truck, but you beat me to it! Al
  17. Good thread! How about "If the world ran out of Diesel" by Red Simpson. Ironically, this song came out like 6 months before the Arab Oil Embargo and was barely played after that. Al
  18. Welcome. Nice trucks,too.
  19. I remember a group of 5 of those blue day cab F models sitting at LaCombe Mack Sales in Green Bay,Wis. around 1974. They must have been cancellations from Refiners Transport. At least one ended up with Gulf Oil's Exlosives Div. as it would pass my house daily en route to one of the iron mines in the U.P. of Michigan. It pulled a short bulk tanker,an odd configuration for being in Michigan.Nice pics,Paul. Al
  20. Very nice,Rob. Won't have to try & get all mine out of the attic! Thanks , Al
  21. Yes,mackey. Heavy specs - double frames. I remember 5 axle semi plates being good for 72,000,while the plates on a Mich. Train read 165,000. That was in the late '70's. Al
  22. Merry Christmas to all on BMT,The Watts Mack folks, and anybody else I might have missed! Al
  23. Michigan had to be the biggest user of Superliners with 3406's in them. I remember back in the day, in the Michigan Truck Trader advertised several brandy new Superliners with either E-9 Or 3406B power. 18F,44R. Mich. Specials. Al
