  4. YUCK! Glad you got it figured out!
  5. I like melons better than pumpkins..........just sayin' Thanks,Mark! Al
  6. That's good to know,Mike. As you stated, finding MACK dealers that actually want your parts business (even though it may be for an antique),are getting hard to find!
  7. Mackey, Hanson (old M-S) is just one of the pits in that area. The rest in that stretch, belong to MEYER. That's where I work. (debatable by some....LOL) Al
  8. Not too familiar with the Joliet area there,Bill. Sounds cool though having a MACK sign the shop!) Heard of Newkirk though. A '55 B-61 My cousin had,was a former Newkirk R-M tractor.I took all the paperwork out of the glove box (authority, carrier certicate, etc.) as my cousin was going to TOSS THEM! Al
  9. Right back @ ya,Mark. Feel the same way about the camaraderie among BMT'ers. A good bunch,to say the least!
  10. Understand completely,Mark. Sorry for your loss. What a good friend he had in you, and you in him. Al
  11. Yeah I think so,gearhead. I miss the guys posts,as many here do.
  12. Best of luck,Mike with the new job.
  13. The folks at must have heard us. I received my new BULLDOG magazine in the mail today! Says you must renew on the confuser,if you want to continue your subscription. That's fine, but what about the guys that don't have a computer? Are they to be left out? How 'bout the guys who are up in years that hauled stuff for all of us to live on for years and years? Are you going to deny these guys, MACK? Come on,not everybody has a computer. Just sayin'
  14. Took my '67 Wisconsin "Fastback" tilt-top trailer to the sandblaster for blasting and repaint. Washed the BCR and put it away for winter in a buddy's shop. Had a few barley pops and talked about the "good old days"!.................. priceless!
  15. I don't remember M.S. having any Macks.I think those Generals got bought by Super Mix when Pease started it.Seems like he started Super, about the time M.S. got out of the concrete business.Hmmmmm??????
  16. Yes,I remember that Brian. They were outside having coffee & B.S.'n in the morning and a haul truck came by and got both of 'em.
  17. That was the last "print" issue I received in the mail.
  18. Mackey, remember when Vulcan & Material Service both had ready mix in the Chicago area?
  19. That's the one,Ron! The earlier 2070 used that same knob, but you still only had 2 reverse gears. The 2070B had 5 reverse gears like the older six speeds did. By time my truck was built, they had switched to what I call "the upside down golf club" shift knob. I thought I was getting the earlier one,but no such luck!
  20. As far as I know mackey, just the ready mix(like what they bought from MEYER).
  21. Agreed,Paul! Mike,I remember that trans, but not the number of it either.I think it came out in the late '70'-early '80's? Thought it would be a mainstay in the MACK powertrain specs (after reading a test in one of the big fleet mags),as it seemed to be what a lot of guys were looking for,"one more gear"! Hmmmmm, wonder what the problem was with them?
  22. That's one way to cure the "driver shortage"!
  23. Matt,if the guy is someone that loves to shift a lot,the 2070 is not for him. After all,the EM6 IS a Maxidyne with time to enjoy a bite of your sammich and a sip of coffee between each gear! LOL! I guess you either love 'em or hate 'em.
  24. 3-53? Looks cool! Don't show it to 1958 F.W.D.,he'll rip you a new one! LOL!
