  1. I like the service truck,Mike!
  2. "..........and this is your brain on drugs"
  3. Near as I can tell Justin, the R's had stickers for the shift patterns and the operating range. I used a B model shift pattern plate in my truck (seeing it is part B anyway!). The operating range plate for B could be used. Probably easier to find than the decal.Although these decal guys can make just about anything these days, with a good example. (Had to dig into the BCR's cab a little too!) Al
  4. ...............By the way, here is a few shots I took before my camera batteries died! (spares were dead also....dummy)
  5. ...................Now you just gotta git a C.B. that works!
  6. Early '86 it was out in front of his place in Federal Way,Wa.
  7. Whew! Glad you found it! I had an EM6300L that just did not want to go from day 1. Everybody told me "those new (at the time) 300L's are "doggy",no pun intended! After a checkup at 379,000 miles, the mechanic that test drove the truck (for a different problem) told me that "this is one of the sickest pups I have ever driven". They brought it in and within an hour they changed the diaphragm in the aneroid valve. They said it must have been torn from new! Thing had ALL KINDS of power and still little smoke. Just ticked me off that I had run that long with the feeling that somebody stuck a 5" diameter pumpkin in my stack!
  8. Weasey, "quote" hasn't worked for awhile on mine either. Just a little more typing is how I fixed it! Al
  9. Boy,what a slap in the chops! Whats next, all the rest of the few remaining Drive-In theaters set to be demolished this weekend? Blasphemy!!
  10. I still do not like the new logo. Looks like a neutered bulldog sitting on a block of ice to ease the pain.I say go back to for a third time! If it worked for Mr. Hansen, it's OK by me!
  11. The gas engine will GUZZLE fuel to the tune of half the mpg (or worse) than that of the diesel! Unless your name is Abdul & you own several oil wells in the middle east, keep the diesel! If the engines bad,rebuild/repower it. You will be $$$$$$$ ahead. But after all,we are in a free country (for now) and it's your decision. My .02
  12. These are the only shots that show the wheels..........sorry,they're all I got!
  13. Nice truck for a township!
  14. The last bunch of R models that Campbell's 66 Express (Humpin' to Please) bought had 6V-92's in them. They went under shortly after that.
  15. This 1950 F-8 Sleeper Cab belongs to a buddy of mine, John "Frenchy" Dupuis (Dupree) of Wis. Rapids,Wis.
  16. Thanks Tom, for the pics and the stories behind them! Very cool!

  21. I've bought one of those cable ends at my local Ace Hardware for the B C R's throttle.Lawn mowers use the same one.You prolly had more fun making one though,Leslie! And you did do some nice work,I might add!
  22. Thanks Mike for the pics. Am going to try to make it back to the "motherland" (Pa.) one day with the B C R. Always a good time with fellow lovers!
  23. Bill, 55,500 if I wanted to pay HUT. I chose not to,and stayed at 54,999 max, what my plate was good for.Did alright with it,but should have bought a steerable. They were just coming in to play at that time. Thelen's ran some steerables later, on a few of their S-series Navistars. Al
  24. Found another pic in my files..........................
  25. I used to run a pusher axle on my 6 wheeler in the '90's, but was told 4 axles on a straight truck in Illinois, was it! I was told anymore than that, and the state wouldn't recognize them. Maybe they issue a permit for them now or something? Hribar would haul salt in the wintertime out of Wis. with quad axles. I suppose the authorities look the other way, when their municipalities need something,I don't know?
