  1. Congrats to you and Max,Tim! My son Alex, started working on the truck with me at 10 years old (same age I started greasing, washing, checking fluids,lights,tires,etc.). Although he took time for kid stuff,he always had the work ethic and knowledge in his back pocket. He is currently a mechanic at a major ski resort in Colorado & loving it. He continues his education and like you Tim, I am very proud of his success. We can't preach enough to the young people, a trade will get you far when not afraid to work for it!
  2. Congrats Jim, on the new ride!
  3. That's cool,Dan. Bob was certainly a great builder, for sure! Gone but not forgotten!
  4. Ok Ron. Haven't looked at one up close in a long time.Thanks.
  5. The late Bob Brown had a hand in this one.Not really "Rat-Rodded" by definition, but tastefully done like the last few trucks he built. It had belonged to his nephew last I heard.
  6. Wish I could go,but we're startin' back up for the season. I'm not even going to ask for a day off now!
  7. Yep,some even call it a disease.
  8. HEY JUMPER & SON!!!!! Technical assistance requested in aisle 6-71!!
  9. It looked good in pictures,2000 miles away,Dan! LOL!
  10. Did the underslung or inverted camelback have the spring eyes like the taper-leaf, as shown in the pics? Almost looks like the beam/leaf set-up they had at one time (B-53). Anyway, nice truck that somebody here should own!
  11. Seen that myself. Looks like a Western Star or Autocar bunk on it.
  12. Have a nice set of 4 8-hole hubs (cast iron) & 3 drums for Mack drive axles (my guess is mid-'90's) for sale. Hubs are off of a CH (w/ABS). $150.00 @ piece.Good (1st brake job) drums free with hubs! PM me,if interested.... Al
  13. In the March/April 2014 issue of "Wheels of Time" the book review is on one celebrating 100 years of HENDRICKSON. Looks like a good read. I'll have to get one for my library as they were a common sight around here, up until a few years ago.
  14. This one was for sale a couple years back. Looked pretty decent to me.And one that graced the pages of OVERDRIVE, in the mid-'70's.The black one belonged to the late Bobby Sanderson...
  15. They must have quit doing that by time I bought my '90,Keith. I would have like to gone to that. Al
  16. It would beat the heck out of a medium duty dump! And plenty of power for a tag along trailer and machine. Won't be for sale too long!
  17. The cowl sides would have to be changed, right off the bat. Some kind of full size grille would have to be adapted. Not impossible, for sure.I like the idea,James. Was not a big fan of the newer hood myself.
  18. $4.42..........well,that will get 'em about 8 miles down the road! Congrats there, RR!
  19. Jim,ain't that the truth. Sometimes you would look at 3 different Freightliners at a dealer and the radios were in a different place on all three.
  20. I believe the single axle one (with the upside down grille) was originally an old Garrett Freightlines truck, stretched. It was featured in a story, maybe W O T or ?. Cool trucks.
  21. ...Must be the reason for the auxiliary power plant behind the cab,Mark! Al
  22. I guess they still use "Big Henry" at times. Be tough and expensive to replace something of that size, for sure!
  23. I'm right with ya,Mark. Some people are using/butchering some nice original sheet metal to make these vehicles. I guess its just personal preference. I do like some of them. Dan, that motor looks like a 6BT Cummins from here.
  24. PeterMack says "hello" from Sin City & ConExpo/ConAgg show! Says its sunny and 75 degrees there,he's not coming back!
