    Holy Crap

Thank you to whoever paid $224.50 for that Super-Liner II brochure on eBay! You just increased the value of my our collection(s)! pssst. don't tell the ol' lady!!
  3. She needs some lovin'
  4. My '79 300+ was copper colored head to toe,Matt.
  5. I've got to dig up that copy of the BULLDOG from the early '70's that showed a water tower at the old plant (5C-?) in Allentown. There is a story in there about a guy and his WIFE painting the tower in a RED/WHITE/BLUE theme. I want to say they even volunteered to do the job! Stay tuned folks, more to follow............
  6. That DM was a predecessor to the DMM. They were called a DM-6006S. I have 2 spec sheets on them,1 from '70 & 1 from '71. For '70 the only engine available was the ENDT673C-250hp Thermodyne. For '71 they included the ENDT675-237 Maxidyne as an available motor. That long handle down the center of the grille was to tilt the hood-too damn far up to reach the from the ground!

Holy Crap is right! I'm sittin' on a small fortune!
  10. Looks good,Jack. Glad you ditched the bull hauler stacks. They just don't look right on a Super-Liner.
  11. Sounds like a weasel road trip to me! .....................and he's off.........
  12. Nice.Must have been a municipal truck.
  13. Outside of getting it indoors (heated shop) nearby,at least overnight (nobody gets that lucky),you got me stumped. ??????? Have the dispatcher help you shovel, when he's not playing computer games!
  14. I've noticed that with a buddy's truck also,Mark. Thought it was just because it had like 300,000 (Chicago metro area) miles on it. Prolly cause I'm getting spoiled with an Allison,I figured!
  15. Kansas! Hope your wearin' your boots,it gets deep in here from time to time!
  16. I remember reading a story about a trucker that had a wiring problem with his LJ (I think) and needed a new harness. Mr. Hansen dispatched one of the planes to land at a local airport and deliver the much needed part. Don't know all the particulars, but it sounded like damn good P.R. to me! Know anything about that, kscarbel?
  17. .......Ah,10-4! I really like the CF panel because of the extra guage hole. Now I won't have to drill any more holes in my pristine dash to mount my pyrometer,ya know?
  18. A couple guys are looking at pusher axles to mount on straight trucks in this area. Had one on my RD at one time. Non-steerable,but it did what it was supposed to. Used ones are around. But they tell me finding one that is correct for their application, can be tough to find. Our mixers at work have the hydraulic "booster" (tag) axle set-up on them, which is steerable. The drivers say it can be a real bitch at time controlling the damn thing. Staying on your game is a must! Seen a few of them lose it on a straight road! Wheel drops off the pavement and they get squirrely! It adds several feet to your bridge (good for the truck's owner),but can act like a unwanted "wheel lift" for the drive axles at times!
  19. Weasel, Got a nice one off of ebay a few months back that was out of a CF. Decent gauges and an extra "small guage" hole (lower center) for a mere $80.00! Keep looking, they're out there! Al
  20. 10-4 on that,Mike. Yeah its been years since I've seen that flick. I can't see the sleeper that good.It almost looks like a painted Mercury bunk? I know they used that type of window in them.
  21. bbob61, I hadn't heard about Joe Wanchura passing. Too bad. Another great photographer. Probably the oldest living truck photographer, until now.Now Stan Holtzman,Bill Bedell, and Joe Wanchura can compare pics up there. I hope they realized how much fun we all had looking at their work. Still a few out there to be thankful of also, for sure! Al
  22. Ahh yeah,Mark. That's the one I was thinking of.The pics aren't from that one are they?
  23. Movie star!
  24. Mark, Wasn't that movie called "Rosie" (or something including Rosie in the name anyhow?).Think I seen it too! Al
