  1. January of '79 too, Ken!........
  2. That's the one,Mark! Just found it myself....Jan of 1976! (off by 11 months..sorry!) :SMOKIE-LFT: I remember bringing that mag to my Grandma & Grandpa's house and my Grandma asking,"what kind of magazine is THAT!"
  3. How bout Lori Bekas & one happy Huskie!-Feb '75 (I think) OOH LA LA! Got to find that one!
  4. I thought it might have been that cab that was on eBay a couple years back.Doesn't look like it,though. Either way, seems like a lot of $$$$$ to lay out at first. A body shop's clock can eat that up pretty easy these days.
  5. Red.....
  6. momack, Had a crossmemberless (whew!) Heil body on my RD. Seen the writing on the wall (&floor). Put a plastic liner in it to save it. Wasn't hauling any rip-rap like you, just dirt, sand & gravel so I was safe. Al
  7. Think he was listening to Johnny Cash's "One Piece at a Time"......"Now the headlights, they were another sight, there was two on the left and one on the right..." and thought if it worked for Johnny, what the hell!
  8. Almost looks like farmer52 has taken up ice fishing!
  9. ......That's good, Ken!! LMAO!!
  10. Just put a drivers side interior panel in a mid '90's RD. The owner had the local dealer search nationwide inventory.Had to wait a bit,but he got it. My '90's panels were held onto the doors with trim screws/washers. This one had like a interior rivet on the back, with holes drilled in the door. Guess I've been away too long.
  11. Don't look for uniformity in laws any time soon. The states have been playing this game since 1935 and they quite frankly, like the revenue it brings in!
  12. No kiddin',Jim. What a versatile spec truck. From a lightweight fuel hauler to a heavy mixer chassis, the Value-Liner could be built accordingly. Probably a victim of the horsepower race & the CH was coming in too.
  13. Nice website! Keeping the B around will be your advertisement/conversation piece and proof of your workmanship. Glad you decided to keep it,Patrick. You will be too!
  14. Nice work, again there 220! Is that an Alum-A-Tank fuel tank I see?
  15. Local guy had a RS700 dump he painted that way. Mike ,it was an old McAnnich (out of Des Moines) lowboy tractor at one time. Had a 375 in it.Somebody put a 300 in it.He bought it already converted to a dump truck in '85 from Twin Bridges. I'll have to dig up some pics of it. Its pretty rough now,but he won't part with it.
  16. What powers the '41 Caddy Tim, a 4-53T? Al
  17. Plus you could pull a tag trailer and a machine maasheen at the same time! I'm thinking the reason it needs new rear tires is Pedro,Juan, and 5 of their closest relatives have been peelin' out of the 7-11 at the end of a long hot day (last summer,of course) ! 300/automatic=fast mover in traffic!
  18. I had to borrow one just to scan the pics there, Mackey!
  19. Ron B., How come you know so much about the nudist camps there in Roselawn? Just kiddin'! I had heard about them "clothing optional" camps down that way. I'm thinking a trucker could get himself in a little trouble there! So Naked City was down that way, huh? Stands to reason! .............no pun intended
  20. Here is a Hendrickson that belonged to Plote Excavating.....
  21. In celebration of their 50 years in business,Plote Excavating (or Plote Construction),Inc.,has put out a cool 2014 calendar. Seeing that PeterMack and I have posted many pictures of their trucks, thought I'd add some more off of that calendar. Enjoy!
  22. .........or "Where in the Hell is Boondocks,USA?" ...............We were using an old CO-4000 for a yard dog one time and inside was a sticker," I stripped my gears at Dick Drost's Naked City Truck Stop" somewhere in Indiana I think. Always liked that one for some reason!
  23. Here's a pic from the Holy Hill Truck Stop (Skelly then-with an Echo C.B. shop trailer,up front!) Hwy 41,Richfield,Wis. that I took in June of '76. The fancy K-100 belonged to Lyle Schaetzel of Fond du Lac,Wis. a milk hauler.
