  1. Cool story,Mark. Got to see him myself at the Puyallup Fair (Washington State) while I was in the ARMY (1985). Great concert! You are a lucky man for getting to talk to him. Still listen to him every day.
  2. I think its an UPGRADE,Yardo! Mark, here's that pic.Kinda sawed-off,but looks great, just the same! Couple of pictures of the "Hoss" too!
  3. .....Dual horseshoes around the fog lights,Ken! Al
  4. Ahh,a P C B (Peterbilt Coverted to B model)!
  5. NICE!! Man that looks really sharp so far,Mark. I found a good pic of Waylon's truck in a bunch of stuff I was given recently. I'll post it as soon as I get the scanner fired up!
  6. ........I don't know, the jury is still out on whether "Mr. U Model" is really a good, solid individual.........Oh wait, they've just came back into the courtroom.....and...YES,YES HE IS!!!
  7. Right! Not be used like that in today's trucks, for sure. As Jeff stated in his initial post, it was still an option in the early '70's for the countershaft mounted clutch brake. It was listed in the B,G,N,H model Operator's Manual that I have.
  8. The 2060 will fit in the same amount of space the 2070. I had my 2060 changed to a 2070. Same case, different countershafts in compound section. I changed to get the 14. something crawler gear. The 2060 had only a 9. something.Too fast off road for my liking, even with 5.55 rears. Top hole was .60:1 .For work the 2070,was the way to go for me.I could see the 2060 in road truck, though. Vlad, I wasn't aware of different ratios in the 2060 to the 2060A. Thanks. Now you have me wondering!
  9. Nice picture, but sad story Steve.
  10. From the album: 57 BCR's Trucks

This picture was taken when the truck was a whole month old! Put 572,000 miles on this truck in 10 years.Very minimal downtime. The 2nd owner has accumulated over a million on it now.Still many original components throughout. The heads have still never been off its EM6-300L!
  11. Nicely detailed engine room! Sharp!
  12. I like the name on it, just not the price............. Just goes to show that anything with a Great American Icon's name on it,can increase it's value!
  13. Little too dolled up for me ,also. But very nice! With all the problems these new trucks and their owners a having, this looks like a good alternative (although a little pricey!). Would still have to look deeper at it (trunnion, frame, etc.) . Did the '89's have an updated block in them? I thought there was problems with the 1st 4 valve E & EM-6's,weren't there? Either way,I don't think I'll be adding it to the fleet! Nice ,but I got no $$$$$!
  14. Jeff, I had heard about the old (optional) clutch brake that was not mounted on the main shaft but on the end of the lower countershaft on a 72 series trans. I don't have that type on my truck, but from what I've been told you could use it to shift gears faster than normal. You still double clutched it. On your second clutching, you depressed the pedal a little further to engage the clutch brake, and slow the countershaft to make the shift quicker.Took some timing on the drivers part. MACKS,you're right. You would not want to do with todays clutch brake being mounted on the main shaft. You will tear that thing up in no time! Not a fun job to replace.Although easier with the Babcock 2-piece replacement. Al
  15. Ron, Hadn't seen that one in a long time. Watched it on YouTube last year. Again, some B.S. but what else would you expect from Hollyweird ? LOL! A bunch of good truck shots, though! Anybody remember the McCloud episode where he drove a 4070 cattle truck? Haven't seen that one in a long time. Al
  16. Wore out that album soon after I got it,Christmas '75!
  17. Ron, Don't remember the episode myself, but I'd sure like to get their secrets so I could fix my old Schwitzer! LOL!! That thing looked like someone held a screwdriver on the intake side while it running! Al
  18. Ha-ha!
  19. I was going to say I have a buddy with an H-60 also Mike. I think its probably the same guy!
  20. I was fortunate enough to get parked next to B.J. & S. Pruitt at Walcott a few years back. My brush with fame,I guess! The late Ron Ebert's beautiful Emeryville was parked next to "Sonny"!
  21. 10-4 Trent! Whatever color you paint it,will look great. That thing is sharp!
  22. That's pretty cool,Trent. ..............black cab & hood,silver box.....oh yeah!
  23. 60' overall and 60.5' trailer length are 2 different things. Intriguing? Ask the guy that gets to pilot this contraption for what I'm sure will be a BIG wage.....not! And where does said individual get to rest his weary head? In the drom?....................I rest my case!
  24. ....I don't think P-I-E pulled 60 1/2 foot trailers......just sayin'
