  1. Alright,Mark! Ya talked me into it! We'll have to stop & get an old Mercury installed bunk for the trip home anyway!
  2. I've seen that one on eBay or TruckPaper, a few months ago.It is almost identical to my 1st boss's truck.Minor differences,but a '69 R711 nonetheless.Pretty straight......hmmm???......Nah,better quit lookin',the wheels are turnin' again!!
  3. I always liked the AT64 Autocars, too. There were a few local gravel guys had them around this area, when they came out.A nice red/black one had been running around the area for years.Last time I seen it,a "bullfighter" was driving it and it still looked nice (hard to believe). I think those cabs just rotted out quicker than a late '70's MACK! Kinda like the Western Stars of that era, also. They too were cursed with the soon to be perforated cab!
  4. I'll say! That's a cool truck,bigdog
  5. Nice line-up,Mike!
  6. 10-4 Vinny! Jake, yes they were mounted to the grille opening themselves.Mr. Hancock, thanks! Couldn't think of the name of that outfit.Didn't a guy get on here a few months back, that sells those grilles & other dress up (no paper dolls) items?
  7. As long as the the 300 is a Maxidyne (not just an E6-300,but an EM6-300 or ENDT676).Any of the 350's were always a Econodyne or conventional torque rise engine, which won't be a good match for the 5 speed, as you'll be lugging the snot out of it.Lugging is saved for the Maxidyne!
  8. What bigdog has there is an F model (eastern) grille that works well in a standard R model(eastern) grille opening. That first one that Stretched out has a picture of,looks pretty cool as well.Nice update, not too gawty! I always thought the U700 grille was taller?
  9. Nice truck,Eric! Looks straight & clean.Good powertrain, too.
  10. :point:Happy New Year,everybody!
  11. 10-4 Randy about getting parts at Wal-Mart easier! We had a great parts guy at our local MACK dealer. They sold out, evidently he & others got ticked off,and left.Everybody suffers now.Really knew his stuff too.As long as you had a part #(for the old MACKS),he would do his best to get that part in your hands, ASAP!
  12. They were selling them off a few years back, when I bought mine. They got out of the diesel powered trucks because too many knuckleheads were putting GAS in 'em! Guess they couldn't read "DIESEL FUEL ONLY" that is on the truck in about 30 different places! They were trying to save the consumer some $$$ by going DIESEL.They kept puttin' gas in 'em, so they went back to gas and let the consumer spend more $$$ to move!
  13. Nice trucks! Were your F models available with a fiberglass cab? I thought I had read something years ago stating that.
  14. ....These work better GG,(when you have one)!! Save the for the on/off road stuff!
  15. ........This guy thought he'd raise the box to drain some left over beer water that had settled among the aluminum cans( that will someday be cashed in for more beer money),and forgot to check the gate before raising! OOOPS!
  16. Progress? How can you call losing a stack, your bunk, and sometimes your mind, progress? LOL!!! Kinda like going "full circle" there Mike!! Yeah,if we could only go back to buck a gallon fuel and not having to press 1 for "english",ah those were the days!
  17. Also like the way you're keeping the original colors.A "tribute" to the former owner! Again,NICE!
  18. Remember seeing this pic from a few years ago.......
  19. Bigdogtrucker, how about.......................(& yes,I know this is an RL!) No really, what ever color(s) you choose, will be good! But please,no Texas bumper or drop visor!...............but then again,it is your truck! Al
  20. Sorry to hear that,Mike. Sometimes we all need a little "wrenchin' " too. I got a shoulder that hurts every time I put a shirt or jacket on.I got to get that checked out too . Hope they get you straightened out soon, bud.
  21. Also heard the term "Mexican Freightliner" too,Mark.LOL!! That fine example is owned by Tim & Nancy Blum (Bloom),from Baraboo,Wis. Tim's a Detriot Diesel guy but had to make an exception for this Cummins powered White! He had a Crackerbox(same colors) that he restored with a 6-71 in it.But he sold it.
  22. Way to go,Rifleman! Thanks for posting the article,Ron!.................seen a blue ED in there too! Al
  23. You bet,Marcel!
