  1. .............."those old DM's........You put in 'em in the lo-hole,and they'll move a damn house" .........Here's proof!! Cool picture,Mark!!
  2. The guy with the Marmon motorhome (Ray Keens),has a boot between the cab and the camper unit.He has to be able to tilt the cab for service (of course). Someone on BMT must know him as he is usually at Macungie. He is a decent guy and could steer you in the right direction.
  3. We wouldn't have expected anything less,Vinman!
  4. No problem,Mark.I agree with the almost factory look. The Claribens do however, follow the lines of the cast aluminum radiator B's in a way. Here is yet another photo of the Lenzini B in its last job.It had a tree grinder mounted on the back of it.
  5. When I looked inside that cab myself,I wanted to go find a good chassis to put it on!
  6. I thought so too,Jim.Follows the B model lines better than the Clariben.
  7. LOL!!!!!
  8. Last I knew it was sold to a guy rebuilding the Lenzini B.Don't know of its fate, lately Mike. If I'm not mistaken, that very truck was Plote Excavating's first !
  9. I've always kept an eye on the W. Stars too,Ernie. Are they still using their tubular crossmembers? I really liked the old "Drivers Cab" models. But the newer ones are growing on me.
  10. Not a one.But we're looking!
  11. Talked to the owner today,Brian at the Railway Museum. He said the cab is pretty weak. Thanks Vinny!
  12. .....................(Waylon's voice) "Now Roscoe and Ennis didn't know that the Duke's got themselves a job truckin' to help pay the bills, after Uncle Jesse's still blew up".............
  13. Go to the forum page,General Discussion, and see the thread started by Superdog "Del DeYoung Auction" and page down to the post by Bill (Johnson) that lists the prices in PDF form.
  14. Here is another version of that hood built for the hood builders brother. He installed '38 Buick headlights on his! Don't ask me why,I'm just the guy posting this picture!
  15. Thanks,MIke.That was a custom built fiberglass B hood that was made here locally in Northern Illinois,as opposed to the Clariben hoods that were made in California.he even made one for another local excavator,Norm Schuldt & Son,with recessed lights and all.It turned out nice,I thought. The guy was asked to build a few more and flat out refused.I know where the mold is located at.I'm sure a boat builder or someone could take on a project like that.I snapped these pictures at the 1987 ATHS Convention in Schaumburg,Ill.
  16. Looks straight,Mark.A survivor.
  17. Great to hear it,Ernie! We will continue to pray for him and the whole family as the recovery continues.
  18. I would stay away from any engine with a chassis mounted aftercooler on it (unless you can hide it and the radiator behind that beautiful E series grille). An earlier 5.9 Cummins might be a good choice.
  19. My town of Woostock,Il. had a Sicard snow blower. They would windrow snow around our town square with plows. Then we would pull along side the blower with our dump trucks, and get loaded with the snow. It worked too well at times! Our square has cobblestones for a surface, and the blower would find a loose one and launch it.The city replaced a few storefront windows! Curtains for the Sicard came when it tried to blow snow with a manhole cover in it!
  20. I have seen B's with twin air cleaners.Left and Right mounted. One for the engine (turbo), and 1 for the tip-turbine.Also have seen just 1 air cleaner and a K&N style on the tip-turbine. b61mack (Ron) has a very nicely done B-61 with a 300+ and 13 speed Road Ranger in it!
  21. Wasn't that B-68 on the block at South Bend,Mike?
  22. Looks like it needs the "Vinny & Papa" treatment! Remember,Matt Pfahl has a nice used U model cab
