  5. There was a FORD NT-series tractor at Schiller Park.I did see a picture with 6 IH Loadstar tandem dumps.A few years back, they were a Western Star dealership for a short time. There was a 4800 series W. Star tractor in Celli colors that was in the fleet.I'm sure there were others. Here's a Ford T series.
  6. Got my plane ticket bought last night.Looking forward to the show and meeting a few more of you BMT'ers that I didn't meet at Lititz!
  7. Here's another mixer.Only this ones going for a train ride!
  8. Mark, That would be PU for short, right? Al
  9. This B-81 mixer photo must be a "publicity shot"! Lookin' good, though!
  10. This early (& brand new at the time) R685ST belonged to Withaeger Cartage of Lake Zurich,Il.Norm Withaeger's fleet expanded during the '60's.But by time the early '70's rolled around, the economy had caused many operations to go under.Unfortunatley,Withaeger Cartage was one of them. One of their former drivers told me he had 10 trucks paid for,and used them as collateral on 10 new ones. Then lost all 20! He had been a house carrier for Meyer Material Co,of Des Plaines,Ill.
  11. Found some more oldies. This R model belonged to Terry Abbott of Lake Zurich,Il. She was a pretty deluxe unit for the time.He pulled a 26' Heil dump trailer.
  12. Pictured here is a B-61 from Consumers Company (later Vulcan Materials). This one was based out of nearby Crystal Lake,Il.Had to be an early one, with stick mirrors and all.
  13. I heard ALL that,I did!!
  14. A good friend sent me this yesterday.................
  15. The Meyer Bros. seemed to be in competition with Celli for "shaving" weight from a truck.Yes it did have air start, but Lenzini changed it to electric Tom said.
  16. Your lucky,Bob.All we have is mega stations that are told what to play and play it too often. If we had a classic country station (like many areas do),there would be no need for Sirus/XM.Although not as good as it once was (Hank's Place on the old XM),it still beats the hell out of "bubblegum country" forced on us by the mega stations!
  17. Asked Tom today. It is an ex-Glenn Meyer truck. Was tandem dump then switched (& shortened) to a tractor.
  18. Niether.It did however,have Peterbilt 352 doors on it,though!
  19. The late Bob Brown of Federal Way,Wa.,restored this truck. It was in his yard when I visited him in Feb. '86.He had just finished it.
  20. That's why I have Sirius/XM,they still play the good stuff!
  21. Listen to "I'm a People" or "Nothings Ever Hurt Me Half as Much as Losing You".You will LOL!! I remember working on my truck at 11pm one night singing "Thing Have Gone To Pieces"! Good thing is we still have his music. R.I.P George
  22. I hear he's a GIANT among U model owners!
  23. It is still around.A guy has been slowly rebuilding it.
