  4. Your Chicago area (retired) R model of the day goes to... Bernardi Cartage. This truck was being run everyday up until the mid '90's or so.237/6 speed 4.17 rears on camelback. This truck along with the rest of the Bernardi fleet, hauled many a ton for Meyer Material Co. over the years. It was a good runner in its day.Needs a good cab & ?,but all in all, complete.
  5. I will get to them,James.I would put them in this thread, but there is much more than R models to be posted! I think I'lll drag it out like this thread,so we can make it last!
  6. Thanks,Vinny for posting all this stuff I wish I could buy,but have no $$$$ or time!!
  7. Here is a picture of a B-61 with a cable operated frameless dump trailer (Icognografix picture)
  8. ........and the coveted hood scoop!
  9. As a midwest guy,the food at the Macungie Pub was great! And the beer was cold!.I was a happy "truck show attendee" by the time I left that place! Authentic or not,I was in good shape!
  10. A friend of mine just bought 2 of them Alex. They're hanging above my KW in his garage. It almost appears that the bulldog is wettting the Kenworth down! Its cool that you guys have these signs.I personally have nowhere to hang them.
  11. .......'tis a mere flesh wound
  12. Yeah, off and on I ran with Rusty and his RS795LST converted to a six-wheeler.I do have a picture of his truck somewhere.I'll have to look for it.
  13. I don't think it'll get scrapped anytime soon!
  14. He and Papa could haul many a wayward U model back to the ranch, with that one Mark!
  15. That is a beauty! The "76" logo on it would stay if I owned it! We don't have any around here anymore.
  16. Thanks!!No kiddin',Jim! We were all scratching our heads, but we kept hauling anyway!! Al
  17. The Chicago area R model of the goes to.......ME (cheap shot) My '90 RD690S & I.We were dumping pea gravel into Lake Michigan for "erosion control" ???? I don't know who had a dredge on the other side of the lake, but I bet they were harvesting perfectly re-washed pea gravel over on the Michigan side of the lake! Patty Dhamer Photo
  18. ................Just jump on in and HOLD ON!!
  19. Tom does a real good job on these things,Ron.He has built several local trucks mostly for his own collection.Incidently,he had been a salesman for MACK at their O'Hare Factory Branch in the late '70's & early '80's and sold many trucks to Palumbo,Lindahl,& others big players in the Chicago construction industry! Al
  20. Yes,its a replica of that truck. That B-75 had been a lonnnnnng term restoration project one of the senior drivers.Mr. Celli provided the $$$$ and the driver gave of his labor. The story I heard, was a falling out between the 2,and the project was abandon.I was actually offered the truck 2 years before Jack got it.I was still an O/O with 3 small kids, and just didn't have the time for it.Jack sold it to Dennis Meyer of Chilton,Wis..You might say,it was the one that got away! Its got a good home at Dennis' farm, anyway! This is what it looked like in 1980 or so.Had N.O.S. fenders on it,but the cab was really bad after sitting all those years, mostly outside. (Tom Bronge Photo)
  21. Palumbo(Orange Crush,LLC)still has a decent amount of RD'd,Granites, and I believe a couple of Super-Liner lowboy tractors. But,like most of the big guys in the area, they reley on a number of owner/operators to supply yards that aren't in a pit or quarry.Something that big I would imagine,is only used from pit to plant on a haul road. The cops would have a field day with one of those on the street!
  22. I hear you,Jake! I drove a new Granite at a truck show a few years back, and was glad to see a tan interior in it!
  23. Here is a beautiful Celli Trucking Co. B-75 w/L model cab,Tom Bisognani of Arlington Hieghts,Il., just finished. This was modeled after an actual truck Celli had owned.
  24. I'm just glad all you guys are showing interest in this thread and showing more pics of the trucks that built the Windy City! Its an important part of our history!
