  1. From here, it almost looks like its missing a Woodruff Key (causing it to slip out of its housing like that.).Maybe the museum would have a better breakdown of the internals of the governor? Sorry!
  2. I have to get a better sound system in the B C R,I can't hear Merle Haggard until I shut the truck off! I don't want to cut any holes in my pristine headliner though.I have a decent radio, decent speakers (floor mounted cabinets).Maybe an amp of some kind, huh? I think I need some serious Dynamat too!
  3. New guy buys the first round!
  4. There goes your empty weight!
  5. There are only a handful of guys from 30 years ago, that are still out there.I give them alot of credit whenever I can,Jim.Don't know Mike personally, just see him around from time to time.
  6. Very Cool! Thanks for posting!
  7. Nice pics, thanks for posting them.
  8. Thanks Glenn.I was just about to ask the same question as Tom did.A buddy has a '97 RD with the same problem.I told him last night ,I would ask someone on BMT,they'lll know! Al
  9. I've got some.I believe they're just the one side though.I'll have to look in my treasure chest! I'll let you guys know!
  10. Another first! Wonder if Petercar ever was slapped for using the name Air Leaf? HMMMMMMMMMM?
  11. Hope to be there and see you and that blue ED ! (& all the rest of you guys & your trucks!) Al
  12. I'm hearin' ya,Mark! SO MANY TRUCKS,SO LITTLE TIME AND $$$$$$$$! Al
  13. Great stories,Ron.Love the accounts of the Z.C.R. Hansen visit! A bunch of us from our area, started going to Macungie around 2001 or 2.We would always visit the HQ building as part of our trip. That woman (I presume this Pat Hutchings),was always very accomodating and remembered us every time we visited! She'd say,"here comes those guys from Illinois" when we walked in! I'll tell you,for the thousands that walked throught that door day after day,she sure has a knack for remembering faces! Glad to hear she is at the Customer Center. They had a saying years ago,"Brick and Mortar make the building,People make the company " No truer words were ever spoken! Al
  14. I have that picture,Jim........... Mike Martinelli is still truckin',he has a white T-800 now.He was leased to F. Smith Cartage of Barrington Hills,Ill.,who closed the doors a few years back. Here is some of their RD's,just before they went out.
  15. Should be on pages 88-89 of the TS-442 reprint that the museum gives out. Hope this helps....................Al
  16. Woodward was located in nearby (to me) Rockford,Ill.! I have a '58 B with the Woodward on it.The B owners manual (available from the museum) showed the Woodward in it.Adlustments & all! I've heard a engine with low oil pressure would take forever to start.Mine must have been pretty good, because it started pretty well!
  17. Thanks,Dan! Very cool! 607t,never doubted you, just thankful someone had the brochure on it.You ain't gonna get this stuff anywhere else but BMT!
  18. Z.C.R. Hansen would be rolling in his grave, knowing that the house he built, is no longer the HQ's of MACK TRUCKS! Glad you got a picture of your truck in front of it,Doug. That is cool!
  19. Thanks,James.Glad you like it!
  20. Yes it does,Mark! Hard to call it a Chicago R when its roots are in Philly! Really nice truck, though.Would hate to see it leave the area.
  21. Your Chicago area R model of the day belongs to... Tom "Biz" Bisognani restored this beautiful '68 R685T.This was a former Kreitz truck out of Pa.(Philly,I think) that Doug Maney found for Tom.Truck was very straight from the get go.With 147,000 or so original miles, this truck is a real "sweetheart". 237,6 speed O.D.,p/s.,winch.I guess its not really a Chicago based truck, but it is too beautiful to ignore. Its here in the Chicago area now,so we'll claim it! Unfortunatly,Tom has to get rid of it.Its a nice turn-key unit, now.Wish I had the money for it.She's a clean machine.
  22. Now that theres funny,I don't care who you are-Larry The Cable Guy
  23. Yep,and you can thank Al Gore for it!
  24. Talked to the parts guy today,he called it a "snail-type" muffler that he used to stock. It was made by Stemco (the seal people). Jim DeYoung (of Beaver Dam,Wis.) restored a 931 Diamond T cabover within the last 5 years or so.He has a CHROME "snail-type" muffler on that truck! I'll have to find a picture of that. Al
