  1. Have you ever seen a heart attack vinny? how do you know thats not what it looks like? LOL! I can see him now running around with his camera phone face turning bright red, somebody keep an eye on Vinny dont let him get Heat Stroke out there!
  2. A goodyear is useless unless you true it they are just as bad as the Chinese tires or worse I cant handle a Good Year at all, like Sleepy says price a Michelin, I have a friend that gets great service out of the Yokohomas and another that swears by the Generals. I ran Michelin XZY 425's on my 04 Granite and they were awesome, I got it it had Dumlops and they lasted about 25,000mi I put the Michelins on and got over 60,000 on a tri axle dump truck running on/off road they were the best tires I have tried yet, I ran the General MS520 on the rear they lasted for freakin ever compared to the others I tried too and have a relly still hard shoulder so they are hard to cut, I think they changed the name of them to the Grabber....something but a tire dealer would know. I have several friends that have tried the cheaper tires and all have gone back to name brand tires because they last twice as long and ride better. Hell I have a set of Virgin Toyos on my Superliner and I dont even run it it just sits here to play with, I have some Yokohomas to put on when I wear the Toyos down.
  3. I didnt think they would fit in front of the charge air but under it they should, Ill have to look again but Im so used to keeping a window open I rarely turn A/C up much, I was in the work truck all this week in the high 80's and low 90's just riding with the windows open and the a/c on low.
  4. Id be up for more legroom but I would chop the top about 3-4" not make it taller, maybe a +3 rear and a-3 top. You have me doing some serious pondering now as to how difficult a cab stretch would be, 3" would be huge in an R cab.
  5. looking closely at the MH pics and that truck had the cab extensions on it, whats the odds htats the truck from that pic? now that would be neat to have a truck used in a promo pic.
  6. Are you gonna get an I heart NY shirt? I hope not NY sucks, just my opinion and with the new gun laws it got worse. Have fun Vlad I wish I was there to meet you but I gotta work.
  7. That would be freakin awesome to have the matching paint schemes and the RW is White already so it wouldnt be a real stretch.
  8. I put a Mid Back Low ride seat on one and that is the ticket, the different angle of your legs makes it seem like theres a ton more room in there and the mid back will go back about 2" further than a high back unless you put the seat straight up. I am just biding my time till I can afford my dual Bostrom Low Ride Mid Back Blue Cloth seats for this Superliner(blue cloth will make em look as stock as possible), I got the p/n figured out already I just cant afford em yet.
  9. If I had the morons for drivers those guys do Id quit, there is no freakin way you can just sit back and watch two or three trucks a week roll over, WTF MAN!
  10. Yeah food sure, Im sure Ilya has seen some hot Ukrainians that made him blush like that too. mmm hot Ukrainians............gotta go now!
  11. if the seat is in the factory location on the mounting plate you can remove it and scoot it back one hole and it will gain 2" of reaward travel , I have done it to all my R cab trucks over the years, there are three sets of holes you can use in the mounting plate and it is probably in the center hole. Oh yeah and Im 6'2" and I hit everything but I still like the way the R cab trucks drive compared to the newer ones, the new ones ride better but the old ones are planted on the road.
  12. Is it back together yet? I want pics of the finished interior with your new headliner porfavor.
  13. A B model Cat is a monster if its set right for sure, by that token theres nothing wrong with a good running Big Cam Cummins 855 either, both have great potential but stock for stock a 400 Cummins,400 Cat and Mack 400 E9 the E9 is gonna make em look bad, nothing wrong with any of them really. If I were going to build a truck to drive every day and wanted longevity and cheap rebuild potential I would probably go with either an E6 4V, E7 Mechanical or a Big Cam Cummins (not a 444). I think a properly set up Mechanical E7 or E6 4 valve is hard to beat for reliability, but a Big Cam Cummins 350 or 400 will pull better if set right and you can keep it conservative on the fuel to keep the temps down and itll last a long time, then when its time to rebuild its cheaper than the B model Cat by about a third. I wouldnt count a 425 B model Cat out right up front but if I were going for the longevity versus cost the Cummins 855 wins in my experience, just dont get it too hot and your golden.
  14. Hercules huh? And you drive it yourself? I won't subject myself to a cheap tire its just not worth it, drivers on the other hand who knows.
  15. Wait a minute, would an 92 even have an E9? Didn't the E9 go into trucks in the 84 model year? I know 78/79/80 trucks I have seen had 865 V8's
  16. How will an E9 compare with an E6 300, I doubt those words have ever made a sentence before! I do love in E9, as far as pure brute force lugging power goes the only thing I have ever driven that was close was an N14 525hp that was cranked up so hot it black smoked running up hills ( N14 is an electronic engine=no smoke) and would spin the tires under a load if you acted a fool. As far as longevity goes there not much that equals an E6 300, maybe an Etech 300, the V8 is not as forgiving for sure. I always get the fuel mileage question too, my 84 made over 560 rwhp and got 6.4-6.8mpg you don't have to use the throttle with a good running E9 just bump the pedal and shift it, it'll go.
  17. Both my 84 and 85 V8 trucks came with under hood cleaners, the intake pipe goes right up next to the radiator on the passenger side.
  18. Heres one of the old RD800, its back in this thread somewhere but I couldnt find it, I cant find one of the Black CL they use now, they still use the same tan colored Fontaine lowboy and jeeps to haul the tanks on though.
  19. Theres a company in Nashville TN, Hunter Marine that has 2 5110 Cat's they have long sticks and clam shell buckets for unloading barges on the river, supposedly when they got the first one back in about 2002 or 2003 it had the largest roatating clam shell bucket ever built. We hauled sand out of there all day and that thing would unload 2 to 3 river barges in no time even with probably 40-50 trucks hauling for 12-14 hours it would build the pile up as we were trying to haul it out. I remember them bringing that first one in one truck load at a time and Cat had two mechanics there for a week putting it together, they were using old Bucyrus Erie draglines up until they got them, they actually still had one a couple years ago just sitting there for when they got too busy for the two 5110's.
  20. Ok guys, there may be a B29 flying around Pittsburgh PA from tomorrow thru Sunday. Look up the B29 known as FiFi online and on the CAF website they are scheduled for this week. Mike there will be a B 17 in Smyrna this weekend and July 2-6 FiFi the last flying B29 will be in Smyrna.
  21. You can say its clean! ...........that's all I got sorry.
  22. If its a V8 that's the thump, those big pistons moving around make some racket.
  23. The mirrors are backwards on the griggs trucks. Damn I notice that everywhere now!
  24. I see "rigged" is the consensus, that's what I got too.
  25. So looking for a possible race truck I stumbled onto a mis labeled Superliner, and I cant figure the breather out, its not a breather just an intake pipe but its not going in where the breather should. Oh and it has two right hand mirrors(GRRR!). http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4399945
