  1. Been there, now I have 1/2" wide white electrical tape and a Sharpie with me to mark lines when I take em off. I consider it a lesson learned and it took me two days to learn it. (Man I'm stupid)
  2. I talked to a guy that put a set of electric fans in front of a smaller automotive style condenser behind his grilledensor, he said it worked great And he never had a leak again. I have been pondering doing this under my charge air cooler in the future and initial measurements seem to work out. I was thinking of using a set of small twin push thru fans on a smaller condenser and running them off of a 30a relay so when the a/c was running they would be on.
  3. Mike see if you can look up the September 2012 Smithsonian Air and Space magazine, there's an article about the "Sandy's" close air support mission in both the Skyraider and the warthog. They are both excellent airframes and both do the job well but since the A10 was designed for that mission it is more survivable, A10's have brought their pilots home on one engine with no hydraulics and half the tail missing and belly landed to be put back in service a couple months later and go out again.
  4. Yeah if its set up right thats for a pump in gear operation you flip that switch and it disconnects the output shaft so you can put the transmission in gear to get higher pto speeds while sitting still. I have never seen one on a dump truck I can't think of a reason outside of a pump operation you would need it.
  5. Big freakin gun, the 30mm 6,690gn depleted uranium armor piercing incindiery rounds can punch a hole thru any armor on the battlefield and have the explosive power of a frag grenade, oh and they are fired at over 3,000fps at a rate of 62rds per second.
  6. I am into pretty much anything big or powerful, thats why I like Superliners with E9's, I have been to a lot of Museums and seen a lot of planes and the best air museum I have ever been to is The Museum of the Air Force in Dayton OH, there are so many planes indoors from all eras it would take you two days to spend 5 minutes staring at them all. Oh and the large Bomber formations had to scare the crap out of shell shocked Germans and Japenese during WWII, then it was the sound of the Sandy's and B52's in Vietnam, and today the scariest sounds on the battlefield is that of an A10, they have an ominous howling turbofan and a pair of A-10's can destroy ANYTHING in thier AO with almost 0 worries of any threats taking them out. I have heard some of those A10's and the sound of that 30mm GAU8 cann on is crazy, you can hear it speeding up at the beginning of the burst, of course whatever they are shooting it at is dead long before they hear it.
  7. new unpolished go with green, itll smooth em out and make em shine in one step, or you can start with red, then go to blue for a two step both will shine about the same on new aluminum.
  8. Oh and the compressor does not have to change to go to 134 just the fittings and oil, I put the 134 kit in my old stuff but the compressor actually went out about a year later so I bought a new one that was identical to the old one just already had 134 compatible oil in it and the fittings are actually on the lines so no issues there either. I would just swap what you have over to 134 if it still works, replace the dryer with a new 134a dryer drain the oil and replace it and put on the adapter fittings and charge it up.
  9. there are a couple grilledensors (yes that is what its called) available, oe and aftermarket, neither is any better than the other in my mind, I swapped my compressor with the same style unit already set up for 134 at Napa for like $225 I think, its been a few years though.
  10. TN Army National Guard had a white RD800 heavy haul tractor they replaced with a Cummins ISX 565hp powered Mack CL, with 12r24's, Mack 18spd, Mack 4.64 rears.
  11. The chassis on the 915A5 is not the same as an A3, I just happen to have been around the A3 quite a bit in IQ. The word we got was the Western Star cabbed truck was the only way to satisfy the new rfp for a set forward axle small sleeper truck convertible to extra seating.
  12. I need that great Dane trailer in the last pic, would be sweet behind the Superliner.
  13. Last time I swapped one I took it to Napa and they had me one the next day at half price of Mack.
  14. my 95 Dakota was a great little truck, fast as hell for what it was too it ran 8.90's on motor in the 1/8th, my 02 Dakota R/T was a gas guzzling turd only ran 9.60's with a 360 auto, 3.92's and a locker, and exhaust, etc. I think everyone gets the point I cant leave anything alone by now.
  15. it has two right hand mirrors one dog is chasing the other one, I blocked out the rest.
  16. Cool, B17 Memphis Belle will be here in Smyrna TN in a week you can pay to take a ride it helps support the operations.
  17. I had to go back to Blue I dont like change much, lol!
  18. I had a 95 318 sport 5 spd, was a pretty good truck, especially after the mopar performance computer, cam, headers, accel ignition, dual 2.5" exhaust and traction bars.
  19. There are tons of E9 questions asked here on BMT so I thought id do a quick size comparison with an E9 head gasket just for show. The socket in the left is a 3 1/4" hub nut socket and the sun glasses are mine, as you can see an E9 has huge cylinders with a 5 3/8" bore and a 5 1/2" stroke.
  20. Hey that's not a white Superliner hood in that last pic.

  22. Who needs a CH when you can have an MH, M is higher in the alphabet than C so its gotta be better, and if that wasnt enough then hell have an RW and an MH, some guys have it all I tell ya.
  23. Hmm, Im not gonna see the Superliner get parked again am I? Other than that its a sweet looking truck, I say go for it.

    D Day

I am going to make this one post then I will have to ignore this thread or I will get a kind of mad few have seen in me. My grandfather was a gunner on a troop ship at Normandy and saw many going and coming both vertical and horizontal, he never spoke about what happened there rill his last few years as Im sure it made an indelible impression on him. I saw the same in Iraq and after I came home from members of all branches of the military, all the members of our armed forces deserve our gratitude no matter where or when they served and all great battle fields where men died to protect and defend those that could not should be places held in the highest regard. I have no words to descibe my utter discontent for someone that holds the office of commander in chief that thinks otherwise, or feels that they are too good or too busy to take the time to show their respect. To all those here on BMT that have served thank you and to your family members you can thank them for me, its not just the service member that sacrifices but their friends and family as well.
