  1. What's that on the ground, is that the foam they spray when planes crash?
  2. I see no mention of dmmex....are they not dm models? Come in explain the whole R, RD and DM series variations I'm curious really I am. (I wouldn't just do this to see if someone answered,LOL)
  3. Zephyr pro 39 good stuff that doesn't attract dust.
  4. I only use a 1/2" gun on a 3/8" air line on mine so they aren't over torqued. If you use anti sieze on the studs they go right on and come right off with a good 1/2". The left/right thread thing used to be common knowledge to any mechanic but since the start of use of hub piloted wheels in the early 90's its is dying off. And yeah they have been around over 20years now, time flys when your having fun! (Or drunk)
  5. Which engine is in the truck?
  6. Not duck brand anymore I get gorilla tape, it is bad stuff. I have used an underhood welder and all I can say is deal with it when you get to a real welder or get a new bracket. I tried 7018 rods in 3/32, 1/8, and 5/32 the 1/8 Lincoln rods seemed to do best but it was very slow going and not easy to control. Just so ya know I weld at work weekly I have a Lincoln 305D on my truck I use 1/8" 6011 rods for root passes on deep cracks or joints and 5/32 7018 for my cover passes, I use Lincoln Excalibur rods almost exclusively they seem to strike easier than radnor and others. I do like radnor 7018 1/4" for backhoe buckets and large plate stuff they fill fast but I still use a Lincoln for my root pass.
  7. The R model style are your best bet the mats for a CH,Granite are too big but could be trimmed.
  8. Yeah I have been looking for a cheap running 6V53 for a pickup truck motor swap for a while but every time I find one its trashed.
  9. I know somebody with a double over 15 spd, the KW above has a double over 8LL but a 15 spd,8LL is od in the front box and under in the back box to get a double over you have to do a gear flip in the front box, putting a od box on the back of a low gear trans kinda defeats the purpose. I remember Eaton made a double OD 13 spd that was an OD 9 spd with an OD back box but most double over 13's are OD front and under rear with a gear flip in the main box, thats why the shift pattern is jacked up, its hard to find an OD back box to make a double over 13 with a OD 9spd and an OD back box, I know ive tried to find one to go on my RTX14609B cant find an OD back box anywhere.
  10. Never looked at a coverall I'm 12'6" to thetop of my stacks with bald tires so I'll need a 13' door. I think I'll price a 40x50 pole barn style shop and see what the bank says about financing later in the summer.
  11. Remove it, unless you turn up the pump it doesn't make that much more smoke, I cranked my pump WAY up and removed my smoke puff limiter. Now I can up shift till the rpm gets to about idle in gear then roll into it and leave a smoke screen behind me that turns on automatic headlights. EPA just takes the fun outta everything.
  12. Well let's try this first this time and see if my internet holds out. I need to apologize to several folks about my truck ad, I had come to the conclusion that selling my truck was the best route to take to get some things done at home but was told not to sell it by several people on bmt and several around home. I have had almost all of my friends and even my mom tell me no to sell it and after giving it a good 3-4 day think I just can't do it. I know its just a truck but its the truck I wanted when I was too young to drive and I remember being depressed after I sold my 84. I also have the bonus of this truck being an 85 which was the year my dad died, and it being the same dark blue of my dads last car. I also had absolutely no reason to find this truck other than something told me to turn down a side road and look around, and there behind a building was this Superliner. It doesn't help that I go it in August which is the month in 85 when my dad died. Again I apologize to those that replied to my ad I'm sorry but I just can't sell this one I guess it'll be in my driveway till I can build a shop to put it in. Ryan B.
  13. 44,000# damn, that truck is too freakin heavy to try to work for hire. I think my last 55tn lowboy weighed about 20,000# with a flip axle on it that makes 64,000# for 8 axles not much left for payload.
  14. Clutch pedal.all the way down with the engine running and clutch stuck will smoke the clutch brake fast its not meant to hold a load. Id drive the sucker and play with the clutch, say half way down and roll into the throttle a couple times. I know if I roll into the throttle hard on mine it wants to pull the front wheel (maybe more fuel than most).
  15. That pic is from the Chrome & Class truck show at Rush truck center Nashville tn last Oct . He brought it to the ATHS Cookeville TN show last Sept too, its actually a freaking masterpiece of engineering. I looked at that truck for an hour easy checking out his front air ride suspension and other truck pieces, it took a lot of know how to make that truck turn out the way it did. I had the Superliner parked about 3 spots farther to the right one row towards the camera if I remember right.
  16. I can't remember is this a 2 wire pressure switch or a three wire? If its a 2 wire one side should be hot with the key on an the switch should close under 60psi and you should have power on both sides. Like tozzi said above have you confirmed the buzzer and light are both good? Try testing the buzzer with +12v and make sure all is good there. then you should test the switch while reducing the system pressure to below 60 the switch should close there.
  17. A 5-10 psi pressure difference in the primary and secondary systems is pretty common and nothing to worry about. I have a 2011 service truck that has more variance than my 85 its just one of those things. I would guess it was a check valve issue but I have never been successful in fixing this issue and I've tried more than once.
  18. Remember don't over do it, a little goes a long way and spec is 1.5-2" free play at the top of the pedal.
  19. A 24" prybar is my favorite for holding the clutch down while I adjust one fits right between the seat and pedal and you can slide the seat up to get it down farther if you need to.
  20. I want to say the actual scaled law not the manufacturer math was 26400 for an mp8 granite Tri axle and the titan mp10 was 28600 other than the chassis and engine same truck length and all.
  21. The frame should be taller, the trans and rears could be the same but from what I have seen the frame and cross members were different and yeah the mp10 is heavier. I think a granite with an mp8 505 and 18spd would do what your doing just fine and save a lot of money and a little weight.
  22. Just out of curiosity have you watched the clutch while someone else pushed the pedal to make sure the throw out bearing fork was moving?
  23. 3.65 or 3.86 maybe, no 475e for sure
  24. 3:58? 475E? Sounds fishy you got pics of the truck that stuff doesn't fit a 97 ch
  25. Get with mhe9 see if he's going that direction he could put it on his rgn.
