  1. The main reason the Granite and CH have a higher resale percentage wise thatn the Titan is the fact that they can be used in more roles and are much lighter trucks, a Titan and a Granite bothe speced for the same job vary by more that 2,000#'s and the TItan is a foot taller than the Granite. I would not purchase the Titan becuse lost payload means it takes longer to recoup costs and the taller overall heaight means more climbing in and out and less job clearance. Just my two cents.
  2. You never saw dual steering boxes?Lots of heavy trucks run em.
  3. You have no idea how much time I have in this truck, I've worked on it almost constantly since I bought it last August. I got a knot in my stomach when I clicked submit on this ad, but it just sits in the driveway and costs me money I could use on other things. I really hate to see the truck sit in the weather after I have polished and waxed it just to need it again a week later.

  5. Well I guess this is it, I'm gonna be miserable for a few years but I think I need to sell the super dog. I am not doing any more work to it I'm stopping where I'm at and I'm advertising it here for a couple days before I hit Craigslist and Truck Paper. I am selling my 85 RW 613 with an E9 450+, Eaton rtx 14609b and Mack 44 rears on camel back with 3.65 carriers. I am also letting my other set of 4.64 carriers, my 34k camel back suspension trunnion and all with budd wheel hubs and all my Mack parts go with the truck. I'm asking $28,000 and I'm probably not gonna move much on that its too nice a truck and I know how hard it is to find a good one. I don't know the miles the speedo was out when I got it but its awful tight for an 85, the truck runs and drives great and I'm gonna miss it a lot. Please don't try to beat me up on the price, if your looking for a clean one and you come see it you'll probably buy it. First $28,000 takes it all, bring a trailer or another truck for the rears.
  6. I dont understand all the bad fuel mileage on the E67/E7 engines, I got at a minimum 6.4 and most times 7mpg with a 93 E7400 running 80,000 with a dump trailer and a 9 spd,3.86 rears, I got 6.8 religiously in my 04 Granite with a 427 ASET cranked up to who knows how much hp, running 74,000 with a T310, and 4.64 rears, I got 6.5 with my 84 Superliner grossed out pulling a dump trailer, lowboy and containers and that was a E9 putting 560 to the ground, a 12 spd and 4.42 rears, the 85 I have now got me almost 9 going to a show in Harriman and I was driving it like an idiot just to smoke guys out on the road and its got an E9 ?hp 9 spd and 3.65's. I have never driven a Mack truck that got less than 6.5mpg average, I try to drive em easy but because of the nature of the wotk and the gear ratios they arent exactly Super Econodynes. I rarely run over 1600rpm most times I get close to 1800 in the last two shifts on the interstate but thats it, and I dont just let em idle all day long I shut em off if ill be stopped more than 5 minutes or so. A lot of people dont realize how much fuel you waste on local gigs leaving the truck running all day long at your load/unload points, it adds up quick I found out by watching the older guys.
  7. Vlad, if there are no Mack dumps there maybe that should be your next import. A nice Mack Granite Tri axle dump with a tub body would definitely turn heads in Russia.
  8. Very nice, I would like to see that in person some day. I wish I had the shop, time, energy and money to do a full resto to my Superliner.
  9. Saw one of the new k dubs on the side of i24 today with the flashers on and the hood up, not a good sign I don't think I've ever seen a UPS mack on the side of the road.
  10. Yep accuride wheels on the ups stuff, its a10lug, 10 hole steel wheel I had a couple that came silver powder coat and from 100' they looked like unpolished aluminum wheels. I think if the 6x2 will work for anybody it will be UPS they have the right runs and the light gross weight to make the most of it. I heard about the corn binders getting sent back, so far everyone I have talked to with a Maxxforce 13 or 15 has had it in the shop so much they want it gone or have already gotten rid of it. I never thought massive EGR would work on a big diesel and it seems they proved me right (for once) they had so many issues they dropped production on the heavy maxxforce engines.
  11. Sweet Vinny, now get to work and get it done just don't let the truck slow you down at school, you gotta get good enough grades to get a good job so you only get in a truck when you want.
  12. The pics are from a music video shoot for an upcoming song by Rob Snyder, the girl is Rachel Bradshaw, Terry Bradshaw's daughter, the guy on the right it Rob Baronas the kicker from the Titans. It was a good time for sure and everybody was pretty cool and we have a couple more shoots to do. I plan to put a link to the video and more pics as I get em.
  13. Yeah you gotta have enough power that the trucks not always running wide open to maintain speed. I would go for an MP8 with as much HP as I could get then it can just lug along, you can look in the ecm of a truck and see how much time is spent at 100% power and with a smaller engine its way up there, larger engine and or higher HP its about half we proved the concept at Howard Baer with two identical Freightliners with N14s we set one at 435 and the other at 525, the 525 got 1.6mpg better over 3 months and the % of time at 100% throttle was half the 435.
  14. OK folks if nobody wants this stuff its gonna make the scrap guy really happy, Im surprised theres nobody on here with 34k spoke rears that wants the hubs and axles to swap to budd wheels, theyre in my front yard and ten years ago I would have killed for em.
  15. Funny thats here now with Mike Ryan starting up Chump Truck Racing, look it up www.chumptruck.com low buck big truck road racing(may have a Value Liner close by getting ready!)
  16. I figured he was family so you'd do that much. Lol!
  17. Pass, Ill stamp return to sender and tape over the air holes! LOL!
  18. All the new K Dubs in TN have the badges on em and they have a bunch, they have a bunch of new Macks too and I think some of the tandems I saw the other day were 6X2's I couldnt see a chunk on the rear drive axle, I know that several big companies have started trying the 6x2 out lately so it wouldnt surprise me.
  19. I think i may have found one but it'd nearly scrap now.
  20. Well I feel I don't need to list them all here, but #1 should be.........can't say here too colorful use your imagination.
  21. Uh NO! We got enough ex cons here already, sorry.
  22. Insurance used to be worth it, it was $1.99/mo and you got a new phone with like a $40 copay. I quit paying for it when it was $3.99/mo and I had to pay $60 to get a refurbished phone with more scratches than the one I broke. Now its creeping in on $10/mo for certain phones and a $100 copay and you still get a refurb, not no but hell no! I say save your $5.99+/mo and in year take that and your $60 copay and buy it yourself and you get a NEW phone. That's almost $72 in premiums and $60 copay for a total of $112 look around you can buy em for that, not a smart phone but that is more ins. Money.
  23. Yup, I use a shallow 5/8" socket on a medium length ratchet, push in and turn it doesnt take much with that style to see a difference at the pedal. Oh and like hatcity said make sure the detent engages when your done!
  24. I fit that criteria pretty good actually! Especially the last part.
