  1. It mystifies me that it took me so long to find a good set of carriers and nobody has been after these more seriously yet.
  2. Leslie you probably put more miles on those two trucks playing than I do on my work truck. I definitely don't drive the Superliner that much , its more like once or twice a month.
  3. No idea on the turn out it was a truck and tractor show, my truck was #262 and I went on Saturday there weren't many in after me maybe 6. I don't know if they put all the trucks and tractors together or separated them on the entry. It was a good show and the lawn mower pulls on Saturday were neat to watch, I think there were 24 pulling mowers, probably 4 or 5 rows of tractors inside and I think 5 or 6 rows of trucks outside.
  4. Dump your fire extinguisher in the air intake it'll stop.
  5. +1 mhe9 and train, I only use a clutch when I need to get it out of gear under load. Oh and when I take off, can't figure out how to take off without a clutch.
  6. That tipped over rail car thing is messed up, I work for CSX and have watched while 12 auto racks were emptied and all the cars cut in half and hauled to the junk yard. According to my boss if an automobile is involved in an accident before it is titled it has to be scrapped. I don't know but I watched a few hundred grand worth of Nissan's get it and none had a scratch on em before hand.
  7. So if all those trucks are at the show, what's hauling the freight?
  8. Yep, do one at a time and grease em before you put em in so they don't squeek.
  9. Oh yeah they rebuild em here too, id say most they scrap are on the second or third drive train. I looked at one that was a 98 with a remack etech new in 2010 sitting there cut in half, made me tear up a little.
  10. Here in TN they dont paint em they haul em to CI in Nashville and cut em there with a guy waiting to sign the paperwork, Yard dogs too, last time I was there they had two UPS Ottawas and 4 CH's all cut behind the cab but still brown. It sucks, I tried to buy a CH from TCI by getting the front half and another back half and then putting it back together but he wont sell em like that, I need a straw buyer to get half the truck for me then Ill apply for a rebuilt title.
  11. Barry is there trailer parking available? Im not going that far on 44k camelback without some weight to smooth it out.
  12. Paintball? Why not 7.62x39? You would get much better penetration and it would have a more realistic sound too.
  13. The B hasn't been forgotten he still loves it, he's just having a fling with a hotter younger model!
  14. Here's a few more ( I am trying to avoid comment on the wrong turn dogs)
  15. Agreed, trucks vary too much for anyone to tell you what it weighs, just run it to the scale bobtail and get a weight then you can subtract it from your combo weight and see what your trailer actually weighs. I would guess you were close to 1700, my 84 Superliner daycab was a V8 12spd truck with double frame and 44 rears, had all aluminum wheels and tanks but weighed 19100. My 85 sleeper truck has a V8 and an Eaton 9 spd double frame and 44 rears with all aluminum wheels and tanks and weighs 18,900. I had one 97 R model triaxle dump that was all spokes and a steel bed that was 28400 and a 2000 R with the same specs but all aluminum wheels and a thinner bed that was only 24400. Point being they vary a lot any two are never the same even built as twins, they can be close but one will be heavier, run her to the scale real quick and you'll know. As for aluminum wheels from spokes you will get cast hubs for 44 rears and then with all aluminum wheels my math says you'll lose about 360#. Lightweight aluminum alcoas are about 20-30# lighter than a 24.5 steel rim, hub piloted cast hubs are around 30-40# lighter than 44k spoke hubs so that's 120-160# in hubs and 160-200# in wheels for a total of 280-360#. A big bonus to swapping is making brake a seal changes a lot easier, no more dealing with that heavy spoke hub and swapping brake shoes can be done in minutes without removing the hub.
  16. I would love to have a running Mack cargo, I always find Reo's when I look.

  19. I'm looking for a 40' stainless trailer, reefer or dry van ( prefer dry van). I am looking for something to take to truck shows behind the Superliner and it doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't even have to have budd wheels but I want it to be stainless sided.
  20. SWEET! OK so where's their next look at the Superliner?
  21. Well that's where all the Superliners went there's more at that Dutch show than any show I've been to here.
  22. I never said they were pretty, I kinda figured I would use a nicer light if I did it, those look like what they are an afterthought to add an option to the list using parts in the warehouse.
  23. Yeah mine was cut as a sit down, of course its still too tight to just sit down if your over 10 years old, they cut the cab out and added a panel to get the opening they wanted. I have ppondered on opening it up more b ut with the way the sleeper is built it wouldnt get me anywhere since the mattress is higher than the bottom of the opening now.
  24. I didnt know if you guys had seen this but I was looking for pics on the web again so here ya go, Don Campbell Scale Models, made this 1/4 scale R model and lowboy trailer all from metal look him up, he can make anything from metal, I have no idea how he does it. http://www.doncampbellmodels.com/
