  1. Not right in the head? name a truck owner that is? go on I dare ya!
  2. You know Mack actually sells those mirrors with amber cl's on the bottom now from the factory, thought about attatching some to my last trucks mirrors across the bottom but I went for the LED lollipops like always. I kinda miss my lights but Im enjoying the clean look I have going right now without all the clutter compared to my other trucks.
  3. Fleetpride or another local parts place will be a lot cheaper than Mack on those parts and they are Bendix parts so more than likely any truck parts place has them in stock, you can get a purge valve kit for the AD-9 or a rebuilt purge valve and they are both within a couple dollars so if you dont want to have to do all the cleaning and re sealing its just 3 bolts and 3 O rings to replace it with a reman. The dessicant cartridge will more than likely have a core charge as high as the cartridge itself, youll need to put the take the top off of an AD-9 (8 bolts around the bottom) to get to it, its on top in the open on an AD-IP use a big filter wrench or chain wrench down near the base to get it loose and lube the oring with grease when you put the new one on. On the AD-9 two of the bottom bolts woll hold it on the truck, pull all the 8 larger bolts and loosen the clamp bolt up top and slide the assembly out the bottom and put the base in a vise using the bolt hole bosses, makes it much easier
  4. Thats how the first Mack I rode in got driven, and it was a friends uncle that was probably 50-55 then and he held it till it wouldnt turn any more then shifted, I started driving and did the same thing till I realized theyll do the same job with half the rpm and last a lot longer.
  5. I would love to get a set of those headers and an upgraded turbo, for now I just have a bunch of fuel turned to the pump, runs great but, ya know how more is.
  6. Sounds like a good deal to me as.long as its not trashed when you get it apart, wish I had the spare cash laying around to go get it, I spent all my money on my Superliner already.
  7. Almost forgot, if your planning to replace your sleeper boot beb prepared there were just over 2.6 million staples in mine( I lost count around there).
  8. Well I got a couple more things half done yesterday and today, I got the old sleeper boot out and replaced the so called rubber outer. I used some 1/8" rubber sheeting used for making gaskets from a local hose and belt shop, I had em cut me a roll 10" wide and 11' long. I think it'll work better than the rubber coated cardboard or whatever was in it, I gave it plenty of extra material between the cab and sleeper for movement since have an air ride cab and solid sleeper. I got some new original chrome turn signals on right before dark and put all new hardware (bolts, wire clamps) under the hood it was all crusty. I got a few more projects I want to get done before this weekend. I'll go ahead and give you a spoiler alert the Superliner is set to appear in a music video this weekend, if all goes well and they actually go thru with it I'll get a link to the video up as soon as it becomes available. I promised I wouldn't give up any info until they had it ready so don't ask, I will say that D Wrays green RS700 wrecker and my Superliner are set to be in it. Great day for old Mack trucks if you ask me.

  10. 2375rpm? Whew.. I got scared just reading that, I don't think I've ever topped 2100 I try to stay under 1900 most times. I only get to 1800 in the top three gears with a load trying to up shift. I guess that's the thing about being used to high HP and tq, you get used to running it up just enough to be able to shift and it pulls it up every time.
  11. Everything is nice and even side to side but the exhaust now and cb antenna now, that can be the next two projects, try a Wilson 2000 antenna bout the best you can get in my book. I still have to get started on my cab lights and turn signals, they're in the garage waiting, wanna come help?
  12. Now all you gotta do is ream the hole in you door for a bigger grommet and put all your wires thru it. I did it on my 84, I had heated mirrors, lollipop turn signal/cl lights and cb coax all going thru the door and into the dash. I used to put those lollipop turn signals on the mirrors of every truck I drove or bought, I think I'm tired of em now. I took a different approach with the 85 I went clean on the mirror arms, no wires at all.
  13. I always thought they had 6 on 44 and 8 on everything else, the ones outside are supposed the be 38 and they are 8 bolt.
  14. Here's a pic everyone should like, that B is super nice (not all Mack though).
  15. Did you make it Jakebrake? I didn't stay too close to the truck I was off staring at everybody else's stuff and watching lawn mower pulls.
  16. So is it blue or black i can't tell, its definitely not red.
  17. Looks like 91 up rd with no tow pins, can be mtd to front of spring hanger or spaced out on brackets with a top filler panel.
  18. Any idea how much?
  19. I cant find the pic but somewhere I have one of me crossing a wood bridge in a 74,000# triaxle. Other driver wanted photographic evidence of me falling in the creek but I made it over and only 3 boards broke, then they decided the other truck should come in thru the creek that's how I went out too.
  20. Um it was 6 tons thats 12,000# so you are close anyway I'll guess your lw at 15000-17000, my 84 was 19 my 85 is 18800 and that's v8 trucks. And the comment about one axle on being half is right bridge law is per axle, hell I've run 74,000 on triaxle dumps over smaller bridges!
  21. Yeah they'll fit you 44 rears that's what they came from, far as pwr divider swaps go I have no idea. These carriers have the taper mount torque rods on top and the rear is tapped for the transverse rod brkt
  22. Brackets dont hang out the side that far, they go out in front so you can see the pass side mirror thru the windshield same as on buses here, all our Blue Bird All Americans have had the mirrors out front for years. They actually just started putting the drivers side on the side of the body back in like 97, (damn I said "JUST" and it was in 1997 makes me feel old I remember it like yesterday, I hated it at first). I have pics, first is the ol 93 model second is a 2010, its actually much better the way they mount them now, I got used to it after a while.
  23. I did it on my04 I think its the same bracket, its a pain but it can be done, the Wilson coax with the removable screw on end makes it much easier to do. Start at the hole on the mirror arm and you push towards the top as I recall, if you pop open the plastic cover at the door end of the arm you can see the hole, I used some mig welding wire to fish mine thru the door but I just pushed the coax thru the mirror on its own. I never took the door panel oiff to do it, its actually not any help look in the door jamb at the hole for the wiring to the door and if yoyu have heated mirrors your going to go the same route, you can get started thru the electrical access panel on the dash in the older trucks dont know about the new dash. Once you get a section thru pull all the slack you want out it makes it easier to go one pull at a time, leave some slack in the mirror arm and at all the openings to allow for future issues. Hope that helps its easier to show than to explain.
  24. Ha, down in TN thats what we call a Mexican Drag Line!
