I would guess its probably time to replace the dessicant cartridge in the dryer, when you start getting anything in the tank after the dryer, its a good bet the dryer is ready for some attention. Bendix recommends that all AD-9 and AD-IP style dryers get a purge valve rebuild and a new dessicant cartridge once a year or every 100k whichever comes first. Its overlooked by just about everybody since its out of sight, its out of mind but if you havent gone thru it in a year or two its time, AD9 will run about $120 for a cartridge and a purge valve kit and takes about an hour to do no biggie, just make sure to get the purge valve tight or it will back off and then youll have to do it again. Its also good incurance against ABS and quick release valve issues, those ABS valves dont like contaminants in the air theyll act a fool and youll get an ABS light if they get gummed up. Just my couple pennies there!

DOT Physical requirements.....................anyone done it yet?
rsb502 replied to Freightrain's topic in Odds and Ends
Uh yeah DDS, Federal law requires all CDL holders to have a current Medical card. if anyone needs it 20-40 on the approved eye chart is F-E-L-O-P-Z-D. funny what you can remember when you dont want to I havent been able to get that out of my head for 3 years. -
2 stack, those 345B's are great machines, I like the older 350's but the 345 will do the same work and is a little lighter and faster. I still think the best all around track hoe is a 330 CAT with a 13'6" stick and a 60" bucket you can dig fast and load trucks quick too. We had a 60"wX60" tall mass exc. bucket we used on 330C's and you could load a triaxle in 4-5 buckets pretty easy if you did your part, the long stick and the 330B didnt get along with the big bucket but the C model handled it fine. I think it was either 60 or 72" buckets on all the 345's, I prefer a 72" for loading but for digging a 60" gets you more breakout force.

Oh yeah I also have the 38k rears from an F model, all suspension, springs, trunnion housings appear good, no carriers. Again trades for above or make an offer if you have 34-38rears with spokes all the parts are here to swap to budd wheels(hubs, axles).
-
I am gonna let this set of carriers from my Superliner go, CRD92/93 with auto pwr divider. I pulled em out to swap ratios they were running fine, smooth and quiet.Make offer they're located in Bell Buckle TN possible trades are a 13 or 18 spd Eaton, E9 parts or Superliner parts.

My first thought was pimpin ain't easy too, I see the "cattle lac pimp" on the bumper and I'm.picturing some douche wearing cowboy boots with a shirt unbuttoned halfway down and a ball cap on backwards, talking trucker trash about he can outrun anybody anywhere, then I laugh again! Wonder if the wrecker said "we meet by accident" on the bumper? Or "hookin ain't easy"! HA!

Vlad I cut the outer frame and moved the rear section back with my trunnion so I only had to drill the inner frame and had a drill guide for all the holes. I have another piece I have to cut and section and weld in place to extend the outer filling that gap. I just don't have enough hours in the day to do it all at once but I'll have it finished soon. I don't know about the horns on the roof, I have had Macks with both horns and no horns. I don't consider it making it look like a peterbilt I consider it making it look like you want. A Peterbilt comes with horns on the roof too, I like doing things others haven't and making a Superliner look like I am is gonna be different. I have never heard anyone say Sal C's truck was messed up because he doesn't have horns on it. The way I see it I bought it I paid for it and I'm gonna try to get it fixed up the way I like and if I do something I don't like I'll change it back. Its all back tot at personal preference thing, I wouldn't have big flames on mine but I'm not gonna say no don't do it cause its not mine, I might say I wouldn't go that route but that's it. I think it will look nice when I get it semi finished in about 4-5 years, I'm out of income tax money so the truck won't get much more for a while now I have to use up the pile of parts in my garage and office. -

Tn you now have to turn a copy in to the state to be kept on file with your license and sign an affidavit declaring what type of driver you are( inter/ intranet, for hire, etc.) More b.s. -
E9 alternators are on the right side. Lol! I'm not being a jerk it was just funny to me after a discussion earlier today.

Ha, the front deck plate is 7' long ( doesn't look it in the pics), I had to return the 6' I was off a little in my measurement. The rear is the old 3' plate i put on it last year I just thought id try it for now. Kinda cool covers all the lines, brakes and suspension, doubt I'll be able to use it with a lowboy. -

Id check out Lisa's sleeper if she let me! I think that was her name I only actually watched that show while I was out for hernia surgery last year. I can tell you this much about scars Vinny, they may be chic magnets but they can be a PITA too! And whatever you did to get em probably wasn't worth it. I have truck scars, 4wheeler scars, furniture moving scars, hot asphalt scars, bullet scars, hell I even have a pencil scar on my leg, figure that one out! I look back and wonder why or better how I'm still here sometimes. I have some loss of feeling in my hands and fingers, my bottom lip and after that hernia surgery my happy trail, and it doesn't come back. Got so many scars if I went to prison they'd have to get an appropriation to cover the cost of the team that catalogued my identifying marks!

Pawel I will try to get you some under hood breather pics tomorrow, I'll be working on mine to try to get some things finished for a show Saturday. -
ok then Im guessing the truck/trailer combo is about 37' from the center of the front wheel to the center of the rear wheel. I always wondered why they ran those short heavy tandems, with a 20k front and 58k rear your chassis is good for 78,000 but they are so short the bridge would be more like 51,000 (im guessing 20' bridge) so I guess they all run with an overload permit instead of just running by the tag and bridge law.

Well I had high hopes for this one but I may have to skip it fir this year and hit Watts show later in the year, I will definitely make it next year if I cant make it work this time round. -
I would think a tri-axle would be better more payload and not much longer, you can run a 15' bed on a triaxle just fine. in TN we run 16' beds on triaxles and gross 74,000, tandems are 68,000 and quads are good for 80,000, on interstates you go by federal bridge formula, of course most guys just go with the secondary road weights and hope to not get a ticket(very few people have gotten an overweight ticket here on the interstate till recently). Of course as I understand it in NY and NJ you have to pay for a perm it for the weight you want to run, here its just built into our liscense plates, an H10 TN tag is good for 74,000 an H11 is 80,000 the 10 is about $1400, the 11 is about 80 bucks more(or was). I was good for 55,500 on my 04 Granite tri-axle and 72,500 on my old Superliner with a 22' dump trailer by the bridge law chart, but most of the time I ran 74,000 on the tri and 80,000 on the trailer.
