  1. Wonder if an E6 would fit in a Freightliner M2?
  2. I always went back with gr8 bolts for driveline, of course most of the drivelines I've been into were heavy spec with 1/2" bolts.
  3. So what was the problem here? I see no need to do anything you shouldn't already be doing. You knew it was over when you got it, you ran it hard and it pushed some of the excess out. So I guess I see no need in unnecessary expense, file it right and it should be fine. If it "makes" oil then you're getting coolant in the oil probably from a bad oil cooler, but it sounds like it started over and tried to get to where it wanted to be.
  4. Antrim diesel in pa they know ambac pumps well, they're on the internet. I dont have a primer on this E9 I'm still spending money on other things and the pump may change so I'm waiting for right now.
  5. Oh its a largecar I may, or may not have added a few more turns to a couple screws on the pump, you know to compensate for the gears! Yeah the gears! I just got the 5th wheel, rear mudflap hangers, and repainted intercooler pipe back on today. I gotta take my 6' deck plate back, its too short I'm gonna try a 7' ( yeah its got that far to the 5th wheel). I still have to get a piece of outer frame scabbed in, mount my quarter fenders and swap my turn signals and cab lights out. I'll get pics up when I feel its warranted, right now it looks rough( and it got dark before I remembered pics). I'm still planning on going to the show in Harriman TN this Saturday hopefully I can get some help Friday to finish up and get it washed its pretty funky right now.
  6. Yep thats it, make sure you use a new o-ring if it leaks you'll have to use it.
  7. Work truck, I do have some chrome on it now this was the day after I got it.
  8. Happens to me all the time on flat ground, I know my work truck will go over 75 but the rpm is too high it bugs me so I cruise about 65-67. I get em back on long hills so its cool.
  9. If so I'm the man, I'm like 80% scar tissue by now. I actually tried to remember where some of em came from the other day and I realized my brain must be scar tissue too! I can't remember crap!
  10. Looks like this......
  11. And after you get it running, cut the lock wire and remove the 6 bolts on the rectangular housing at the back of the pump and remove the cover. Inside right up top is a threaded rod with two nuts. Loosen the nut towards the front of the engine and then tighten the other nut to move the fuel rack stop forward. Then look at the lever behind the stop, half way down there is an Allen screw used as a fulcrum, loosen that screw a few rounds. There now you have just turned up your full load rack stop and your mid range fuel delivery. Get ready for the smoke! Oh and remove the puff limiter, its not really doing anything and its gonna try to stop that fuel rack from moving to our new adjustment till you have boost.
  12. Yep turn it counter clockwise to loosen and pump, press in and turn clockwise to lock. You should be able to get that primer pump at and diesel pump shop.
  13. I lived in a house with a concrete driveway that had about a 4" drop to the grass at the edge, I got my 84 and was cleaning the cab out stepped out backwards ans landed my left ankle on that edge. I probably said the same words you did, went inside pulled my work boot off and my ankle was swollen all the way around it just about doubled when I got the boot off. I didnt want to go to the doctor but had someone else there that had "leverage" on me and made me go. Long story short, sprain a week off and my ankle hasn't been as flexible since. She didn't get to use that" leverage" again for a couple weeks!
  14. I had one I put on my 84, I have seem them I just don't know if they were original. I'm actually planning on putting one on my 85 I just haven't got there yet.
  15. You got a neighbor with a nice yard? Renting a sod cutter is cheaper than buying sod, they'll never notice a little yard missing. On a side note me and a friend actually did that to someone once, it was freakin hilarious to see his face when he came back from fl to see his perfect front yard was half missing. We did put it back and he was a friend we were waiting there ti see his face "priceless ". That's what he gets for talking trash about my yard!!
  16. With a low voltage code id check my batteries, you have to have at least 11.2 v to run the ecm. Sounds like a Lift pump hard start is a symptom, been there you need 10-14 psi at the back of that vp44 injection pump or you'll trash it. Most of the time the lift pump goes down and you don't notice because it will still run just won't have the same power, then the injection pump goes down because its not built to draw fuel from the tank. Get a guage in there and check the pressure at the back of the injection pump.
  17. Somebody please get the signs before fastenal tears em down and throws em in a dumpster
  18. Looks like a satellite antenna there at the top of the door so they are transmitting data for something.
  19. There were several RW's sold out west to make long straight trucks with. Same as the RS-L trucks the longer BBC helps with making bridge law weights. Union Pacific rr had a fleet of them from dump-crane trucks-tractors, most had floats and disc wheels.
  20. no soda it will corrode faster, no real way to do it other than sanding, polishing with jewlers rouge and a cutting wheel , then hand polish to clean it up.
  21. Well another full day workin on the dog, I got the driveline bolted in the rest of the way, about 10 more bolts in, replaced the bad wheel seal and filled the front axle, hooked up my air lines, got my torque rods attatched. I think that's it but hell I lost track, I took er for a short spin about a mile just to check everything out. I can say going from 4.64 to 3.65 is a big change I was in 7th where i used to hit 9th, turns better than I expected stretching it 41". I'll get some better pics when I can I've been trying to keep myself on task and away from the phone.
  22. Ok people I got a good 5 hours of work done today. I got my other carrier swapped, new crossmember in, old one relocated, carrier bearing brkt mounted, my new mid piece of driveline and carrier bearing installed, 4 more frame bolts drilled and installed and I'm forgetting something. Im going to try for pics tomorrow, I still have a wheel seal leaking, holes to drill and a 5th wheel to reinstall. I also have some new lights for the cab and fenders but it won't all get done tomorrow. I need input on one thing I have the rookie poles that came on the truck and I am back and forth about em. I think most trucks look horrible with bumper poles but a Superliner, W900 A, Ford LTL and a couple others they seem to fit. So all that said it's polling time BMT..... Bumper poles on the Superliner or no?
  23. I like the ride and the room in the newer trucks but there's just no replacement for the Superliner, they drive great, look great and with an E9 its gotta be broke if you get passed on a hill. Especially Rays big HP ride.
