  1. I would sand em then machine polish, I think they'll come out ok, when sanding don't use force just let the sander or sand paper slide across. It takes longer than applying pressure but you don't get sanding scratches and you won't have to wet sand before machine polishing. I would start with some 200-300 then work down to 800 then hit em with some green jewelers rouge on a stiff yellow buff.
  2. Are you guys having the valve seats pressed over spec or just stock? That's actually the biggest reason I wanted to send a set to Francis since that's the cause of most E9 failures. Im gonna go with the ARP bolts if I pull my heads too I talked to a couple guys that used to break bolts all the time, they went wit the ARP bolts and haven't had a bolt or gasket issue since. Only problem with that stuff is Dale Francis is the only place I can find that does it and they are the highest machine shop I've found too.
  3. Staxx has hood and fenders that are awesome and UPS is fast.
  4. How could you cremate the wrong person, and why does it happen enough there are statistics?
  5. I have a card somewhere for a guy that does those display cases, your dimensions, your finish I'm lookin just can't find it yet. I quoted some 6" deep 6' tall 10' long, with 3 sliding glass panels I want to say it was $800.
  6. Wow nobody, well I guess Ill wing it.
  7. Oh yeah noon Louisville time that's eastern.
  8. Well I propose a high noon meet at the Mack booth inside for all BMT members, do I have a second?
  9. I got into a polishing project today, my new company truck has an aluminum fuel tank that was unpolished figured id get it done while it was nice out.
  10. I got a message from a friend to check raigslist and when I did I was stunned.... sweet MH single axle. http://nashville.craigslist.org/bfd/3609962369.html I had this truck park next to me last year at the ATHS show it is very nice and for the money I am tempted but I already have one toy.. http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/3639979988.html Superliner dump truck for cheap. http://nashville.craigslist.org/grd/3653514048.html Somebody has to buy those MH's that second one looks great he just paionted it before the ATHS show last year it made the Superliner look crusty after buffing on it for a month.
  11. NH 220 Cummins injectors says the parts guy down the road.
  12. Does the "b" have all the air valves?
  13. Both would be OD the 1070b is air shift deep reduction.
  14. One things for sure if fuel prices don't get ya insurance will sooner or later.
  15. I understand the thoughts on the show&shine, I look for new ideas and antique stuff. Im not taking the Superliner this year its too far on too rough a road with 44 rears and 4.64 gears. I go more for what's inside than the show n shine, there are some good deals to be had on tools, parts and toys. I haven't come back without one or five die cast trucks since I started going years ago. I was told by the Die Cast Promotions rep there were 4 Macks in the works, Pinnacle day cab and sleeper cabs in set forward and set back, fingers crossed for a Rawhide with a step deck. If there are many of us there Saturday we could set a time to meet at the Mack booth for a meet n greet, I'm always interested in meeting Mack guys.
  16. Ok so who is going to the Mid America Truck Show?

Call me at 615 631 1775
  19. Ha 27 1005's built and I called it a boat anchor and walked away. Head/wall, repeat!
  20. I was always told it was due to the speed of that shaft under pump load, I have a pump to put oil in grease fittings, got it at NAPA.
  21. If your bored come on down here I got plenty to do, when you go back together are you gonna use the ARP bolts or new Mack bolts? I checked with DF, $1600 for a set of ARP's expensive but probably worth it making 30+ psi manifold pressure, I think I can order em thru Summit cheaper I just don't know the sizes.
  22. Hell I just quoted the Superliner it was only $4800/yr for 500mi radius and that's liability and cargo to pull my 35tn lowboy. You need to contact a good insurance company direct or call the OOIDA and go thru them it can't be $65000/yr there's no way that's more than I paid for 2 tractors, 3 trailers and a triaxle dump.
  23. David couldnt get pics loaded so I am posting this for him, he will log on and give more info about the truck tomorrow when he has time, without futher adue.....the 69 RS700L wrecker formerly of Spicer Truck Service in Nashville TN.........
