  1. found a pic of my 84's dash i took after the new owner had filled the interior with stuff, kinda made me a little sick to my stomach I used to keep it spotless and if it didnt need to be in there it wasnt.
  2. Believe it or not an ETECH with the right injectors turbo and computer flash will do over 2000ft lbs, I have the dyno sheet herre somewhere on a Etech 400 with an upgraded turbo, injectors and a computer flash at Illinois Dyno Center and it showed over 550hp to the rear wheels with rwtq at 1600 that puts it over 600hp and 2000ft lbs at the flywheel. I know a lot of guys that have done the Mak upgrades to get more HP only to be dissapointed after spending a fortune. I say go spend a little over a grand on a computer reflash and a set of injectors and if you have a 427 up turbo rock on and watch the pyro so you dont melt it down on a long pull, there is a lot of hp in those ecm's.
  3. Ha yeah, its ok we do this all the time, or Ive done it a million times famous last words!
  4. Ha, that's what they get for second guessing a bmt super trucker!
  5. Just damn , well I guess if I make it to macungie I'll just drive my pickup I don't want to get parked near you and let my crud pull you down with it. Is that actually gold leaf or is it gold leaf style vinyl?
  6. 2nd pic chrome bumper by the way, it's even got rookie rods on the bumper.
  7. I always liked the RD800's just look like a work truck should. Those are like a mullet in a way, theyre business in the back and party in the front with that chrome bumper.
  8. Freakin sweet, Nuff said!
  9. STAXX delivered my bottle this past weekend thanks OD, and I like the hot woman on the label idea too, wearing a little red dress, or just red heels whichever.
  10. he is acting as a commercial entity, if you receive payment for services (hauling anything anywhere) you are running a commercial vehicle. I know you are not required to have a cdl if you are not for hire I didn't think that was a question at all, if so everybody with an antique truck or rv would have to have a cdl. If you operate a commercial vehicle, defined as any vehicle used by any entity in exchange for reimbursement for services rendered, like if you drive a delivery truck at work or haul anything in interstate or intrastate commerce you need a commercial drivers license. The cdl can be class a vehicles over 26k trailers over 10k, b vehicles over 26k trailers under 10k, c vehicles under 26k trailers under 10k, and if you drive a small vehicle at work a class d with an f endorsement (for hire).
  11. TN state law says if you kill someone in the comittal of a burglary, theft, rape, etc., you are good to go and can not be charged of a crime, if you were in a school and someone came in shooting and you shoot them dead, even without a carry permit being on school grounds that are posted no weapons your still good and cannot be charged with a crime, oh yeah, I live in TN and I DO have a permit and carry every day a 45 will stop a crime a lot faster than a cop thats three miles away. I hate to hear about the theft I too hope they get em good, and if convicted you can garnish their wages after they get out of jail until the replacement cost of your goods plus interest is reached in TN!
  12. V-MAC 1&2 are the same 3 chages you should have VMAC 2 in a 94, 2-2 ECT (coolant temp voltage open or high mostly bad sensor or rubbed wires, 2-4 IAT (intake air temp) mostly bad sensor or rubbed wires, STAXX is the man on this stuff I have to look it up he knows it by heart I trust him and I hate mechanics! (p.s. I'm a mechanic for CSX) V-MAC 1&2 http://library.motoralldata.com/techRef/WebHelp/Powertrain_Trouble_Code_Charts/Mack/V-MAC.htm V-MAC 3 http://www.auroramack.com/pdf/308/V-MAC%20Fault%20Assignments.pdf
  13. Is that what it says in the door of the truck or are you getting that with a cackalator?
  14. Oh and the GCWR is not the combination of your truck and trailer GVWR's it is the trucks GCWR that matters, the trailer has no bearing if the truck is under the rating of the trailer, the truck should have GVWR and GCWR stamped in the door, if the GCWR is not on the label thats a whole nother issue the DOT can then say it is not built as a combination vehicle and you fall back to a default 10,000# trailer rating of a class B CDL. International can make a replacement GVW tag for your truck if they "convert it " in the shop, for most trucks that means adding trailer brake valves, also I hope you have a Class A CDL as any truck over 26,000 GVWR towing a trailer over 10,000#s requires it, any truck over 26,000# GVWR towing a trailer under 10,000# is a class B. ( I used to teach CDL for a little while at Opryland Hotel Transportation Dept.) again hope that helps Ive been here before .
  15. In TN you tag the truck for the GCW I had 80,000# tags on my tractors, WHen I got my Overload permit for the lowboy I could get a permit for whatever weight but they told me I could not exceed the axle ratings so I went with a 120,000# permit, I had a 14,600 steer, 44,000 rears, and a triaxle trailer with 3-20,000# axles so I was only legal for 118,600# with a 120,000# permit, the federal bridge law table for 6 axles showed me only legal for 90,000# so on secondary roads I hauled up to 118,000 gross and on the interstate I tried to stay under 90,000, with a tag axle on my truck @7 axles I would have been legal for 95,000 on the interstate and my full 120,000 permit on TN roads and I would have had 138,600 worth of axles. Hope that helps it was a long road getting there but Im done. How long is your wheelbase from the center of your steer tire to the center of your rear tire and how many axles, 4? if you are 4 axles in 40ft your good for 68,500# on the fed bridge law its 500# more for every foot of length and 500# less for every foot less than 40 and if you are at say 39'7" you are only legal for the 39' weight of 68,000. any questions? LOL!
  16. you got a rough road ahead if you think its going to change anytime soon, big companies like ge make millions in tax refunds/credits by having offshore companies. I hate it but I don't think we will get back to fending for ourselves until we hit another (real) great depression and those that are on the govt dime have to fend for themselves and the corporations making all the tax incentives have to make, distribute and sell their products here or go out of business.
  17. Mack power train guy dave mckenna told me they were underrated by about 10-15%, I know my old 440hp E9 would walk away from a CAT 550 that supposedly made 1850.
  18. Gulfway, mines 300/yr
  19. Those shift cylinders need to be rebuilt from time to time, look in the engine/transmission forum there was a thread about the air system routing a couple months ago there are air system schematics posted there it was called either mack 12spd or trtxl1070 I can't remember.
  20. HMMM, I have a lot of neat projects running thru my mind that could be useful for , Im too cheap to buy a good milling machine even though I know I would use it alot!
  21. Didnt notice that was a mid 90's R till I looked again I always liked tha painted fender extension behind the front wheel, the 97 up R's I drove had the black plastic molded fender extension on em. I put many a mile on an R model tri-axle dump I put 300,000 miles on one in three years here locally, never had to do any repair work to it at all but a clutch at 312,000, it was a great truck.
  22. On another note you still got the milling machine working?
  23. Sounds like a modern day trucker they dont care and dont know if it doesnt concern them in their cab they have no clue about it, proper load securement and protecting the cargo, HA! I have seen some guys tear equipment up loading it and just shrug it off chain it down and pull on out, I watched one guy load one of our machines(spike driver), break the nippers(clamps the ties) off it chain it down and head out like it never happened, he didnt even try to hide it just took the broken parts and threw em on the machine. I get kinda ticked talking about this kind of stuff since Im the one that has to fix it after they break it and then there is no recourse they are back hauling something else a few days later. Oh the company is Best Specialized!
  24. I never got to do the snowmobile thing, we ran Hare Scrambles on 4 wheelers here in TN, I had a Honda 400EX in 98 I think when they first came out, red like all the others, I ended up doing a 440 big bore kit, going to 22" holeshots on the back and dropping a tooth on the front sprocket to get it to run with the 2 stroke guys. Then came the Yellow 400EX in 02 did a 416 high compression to it a week after I bought it and the same gear/tire swap it ran pretty good but then Yamaha came out with the YFZ450 in 04 and I had to have one of them in the Black Limited Edition plastic, I didnt change anything on it but add skid plates it was plenty fast for the woods and I was getting tired of hitting trees. I did get to ride the 450 in the snow that year it snowwed about 4 inches here and stayed on the gorund for about a week so i would go out and freeze myself good and go inside and thaw out then go do it again, nothin like a 50' radius powerslide donut at 60mph. I think it was about that time I realized I dont heal as fast as I used to, so bout a year later I sold em and I havent had another one since, I have a New Gator XUV in OD Green right now but that has a chainsaw and axes in the bed for workin on the hill out here. Have fun with it vinny dont go hittin any trees at 60, IT HURTS I promise!
  25. Those were made to fit that spot for Mack I tried to get another set and was told they are Unobtainium, guess they got sold out a few years after they stopped making the Superliners, I have some ribbed soft nylon flaps about 3/8" think Im going to try to get in there, you have to set the old ones on the new one and trace it out they are shorter, narrower and have the cut off edge on top to clear the hood.
