  1. should be well nuts the bolts screw into they will stay, soak em in penetrating oil for a day before you take me out, if they are up in the center of the rear window on each side they are for a window screen, lots of the roll off trucks here have them, if they are lower and only on the left side its for glad hands, if its lower on each side say about 12" up the cab wall its for the lower exhaust mount on an R not sure on a DM.
  2. with all those side boards on it and still in one piece I bet it was a coal hauler the bed may be in pretty good shape coal doesnt wear a steel bed out to fast for sure.
  3. on an 02 this could mean the water pump is going out, the weep hole will get clogged and when it wants to go it will pop the seal in the rear and then over pressurize the system and pop the coolant tank had it happen on my 04 Granite and know a guy with an 01 RD had the same issue.
  4. was it just the pulley or the damper? if the damper is out get a new one it will save your bearings, I see you said you got the wheels close but not perfect well anything out of round or wobbling around and it will bounce, it takes time but spokes will run straight if you try.
  5. You shouldn't have that kind of trouble with that trans they are pretty tough id bet it was not pre selected you have to make sure it he air pressure is on the solenoid before the shiftor you'll burn it up flip the switch to go to high as soon as you get power on 4th that gives it plenty of time same for down shift and don't flip it back and forth in neutral
  6. I'm surprised superdog hasn't bought it yet a road ready superliner for $15500 ain't bad, its high for a toy but not if.your going to work it and if its too long it wouldn't take much at all to shorter it the length of one driveline section and still have a 260-270wb. If I was working a truck I would be on my way to see it now.
  7. I drove it today runs great you gotta man up to steer it though.
  8. ha missed it sorry!
  9. any body interested in what appears to be an old overnite MB, Ill have it here at my house soonI guess I just couldnt let it go to the scrap yard so I paid way too much for it so hopefully one of the other Mack nuts here will want it its a Mack diesel, duplex trans, dual fuel tanks runs and drives got some rust though, still has the tachograph in the cab too. Might trade for some E9 stuff, or a B or R model.
  10. I still refuse to pay for TV I have other things I can do I think my lack of even a TV antenna is part of the reason I was able to get the superliner presentable for a show in 2 months.
  11. There's movies on TV?
  12. I have several friends that call first and won't come by after dark, its nice to be feared!
  13. How many rpm are you running at 55/70? how many rpm is the engine running at low speed? Does it turn more rpm before? What is your gear ratio?
  14. the RD800 had 4 squares, I know it wasnt an option here in the states for an R but lots of trucks had them, mostly in the coal hauling regions and in emergency service, or wreckers, the deal is the horrible visibility with the single incandescent round lights. I have driven an R with the stock lights and an R with the dual Squares mounted in the buckets and on a dark back road in a dump truck it makes a HUGE difference, I dont think I have heard of any being done just for looks but I have heard of lots being done for visibility. I am looking for my notes to get thte name but I talked to a KY coal hauler(the one I drove with the squares) and he said the Mack dealer there did it for him and several others in eastern KY.
  15. 20ga 870 tactical with a 3" trophy copper sabot slug in the chamber, 1911 with a 200gn dpx bullet in the chamber cocked and locked, XD40 180gn ftx in the chamber, and an extra mag or two for them close by not to mention the days I feel like having a rifle close, again cocked and locked. Theres no point in someone unlawfully breaking into your home when your there....aka home invasion, and them hearing anything for more than a millisecond and the second guy in the door/window will only hear his buddy go down and the action cylce then its his millisecond to ponder his wrong doings. I am the guy that thinks there should be an express lane to the death penalty, if you rape, murder, or anything of the sort you should be sentenced then go thru one door to the firing range then another to the morgue, I dont like paying for these guys to live in prison for 30 years with 3 hots a day and cable tv its B.S.
  16. from my notes the E6 weighs in at around 2200 dry and the E9 comes in at 2800 dry add 56qts of oil and lots of water and the E9 gets heavy quick. The E9 only has a 5.5in stroke where the E6 has a 6.5 in stroke so the cyliners arent as tall saving a bit of weight I guess thats why they are only 600lb off, of course 600lbs is a lot of weight if you think about it.
  17. Only problem with E9 trucks is weight they are almost too heavy to run for hire anymore, my daycab double frame 44 camelback rear 84 was 19200 this 85 is double frame 44 camelback rear E9 haven't weighed it yet but I doubt its close to the 93 ch's 18100 with a 60" stand up sleeper E7 T2090 and 34 mack rears on air ride.
  18. I don't have an empty chamber!
  19. those engines are just as reliable and have all the potential of the E7 ETECH engines they just have internal EGR, the ecm controls the power output and it can be fixed without changing anything on the truck you just have to get the right guy to do it. I wish we had rear wheeled my 04 then I would have proof but it truy felt like the power doubled and the power band dropped a couple hundred rpm too so therre was no more winding it out to shift and keep it in the power band I could shift it about 16-1700 on a hill loaded to 74000 and pick the next gear right up and gain speed. I have driven several and only two were cranked up like my old one and we both made a major deal out of the lack of power at Mack and it got fixed, the other truck was a 400 mine was a 427 and they would outpull every 460 and cat C-12/13 and most C-15's around here after the reprogramming its all in the ECM neither of us swapped one hard part.
  20. TOO LATE!
  21. good sign....
  22. heres my security system training and resting after class.......
  23. never fire a warning shot or yell stop or ill shoot, that conveys intent and therefore "when" not "if" you kill em it can be considered pre meditated, shoot em and leave em on the ground for the cops to pick up later(or coyote's)!
  24. Well I got fucked by my union, I got thrown into the sheetmetal workers eventhough im a machinist and the IAM votes my contract, the railroad has a deal with the unions to balance out their membership so they force you into where they need to make the numbers right, I live in middle TN, my union local is in Selkirk NY, my dues are twice what the IAM dues are and my union wont help me do ANYTHING they actually tried to have me fired when I said it was bs putting me in a union in MY when I live here and the IAM has a local here and is the one that votes for my contract! I say fuck the unions they used to work but now all they want is money and power and dont care about their members at all! My problem is I get fired if I dont pay union dues.
  25. Good luck with whatever you do, diesel parts direct or midwest diesel if you need to get a crank chepaer than Cat.
