  1. ok so Bosch electronic pump truck, that idles smooth cruise switches run smooth and it will run up to 1200 smooth but if you hold it will start to fall off and surge, sounds like fuel issue to me, Staxx knows more about those pumps than me but seems like the pump might not be advancing or there is a fuel restriction.
  2. go look at gunbroker.com, people are price gouging like crazy there was no shortage of guns or ammo but now that people are doing what people do best "freaking out" about possible gun control legislation they are buying whatever they can and others are selling guns and parts for 4 times their actual value, its moronic to pay these prices for anything and I wont do it. I have seen magpul p-mags selling for over $75 each and guess what you can still order them from midway for $12 they are on backorder but once you order when they come in they ship em to you for $12, I can say this watch for retailers price gouging and post it for everyone to see and never return to their store, Cheaper than dirt was selling p-mags for $57.95 and they have no doubt hurt their business I have heard from lots of people that will never do business there again.
  3. Surounding the white house wont do shit, your lawmakers arent in the white house, the president doesnt make the laws and set the taxes congress and the senate do. You want to get em to change something you have to get them on a term limit so they cant just sit there for years making money and riding it out, and stop them from voting on their own raises, quite possibly the biggest improvement to our govornment would be term limits on senate/congress and using the popular vote to determine the presidency not electoral college, it doesnt matter how you vote if your representatives want to vote another way your vote is worhtless.
  4. I say camelback for any truck that sees on/off road use, as far as weight the light weight aluminum hanger sir ride is lighter, the heavy duty like the old neway is actually about the same weight, so says the scales at Hoover crushed stone anyway. On the seat I think I have decided on mid back low ride bostrom blue cloth, the seats are damn close to factory upholstery and you can add the armrest to the inboard side pretty easy, oh and I don't like hitting my head on the ceiling either. Oh yeah one more thing, if your rd doesn't have shocks on the rear suspension, add them it smoothes out the camelback hop nice.

  6. well now I know, they have so many different models and parts I'm surprised they still support parts for most of them.
  7. What year 427? If it won't go over 1200 and the idle surges sounds like you need to try to use the cruise buttons to run it over 1200, if it idles at a consistent speed with the cruise buttons and goes over 1200 sounds like a throttle pedal or harness issue. If it does the same thing or won't work with the cruise switches sounds like timing sensor/ engine position sensor, really depends on year and type of engine control.
  8. If you saw the damper move start there, if you can't move it by hand and the bolts are tight, watch it at start up and shut down, if it has slipped out of line it may wobble just slightly but idle rpm may be too fast to see it. If that's not it try a pry bar behind it to see if you can move it forward or back, also check your clutch if you don't notice a miss or lack of power but you have a vibration and that's where I would start, and a new ujoint may always be bad,or carrier bearing its happened before.
  9. enough is enough, there I said it, but guess what............they are the ones in power and nobody is gonna do shit about it we are just gonna keep on getting screwed over, and over till were dead! Oh and why you might ask, because we are the people thatdo the things that have to be done, the middle class, the people that work in the stores, the shops, drive the trucks, build the buildings maintain the roads. And you know what that makes us in today's America, the suckers! We could just sit at home and tell the government we don't want to work and get everything handed to us but we chose better for ourselves, we chose to make something of our lives and to not rely on someone to give us handouts and do our thinking for us and for that we are chumps in today's world.
  10. I don't think an m drive would be a good fit for a dump truck, an Allison has smooth clutchless power application perfect for a dump truck, with an m drive you would never get the smooth low speed starts and back and forth operation needed in tight places, spreading rock, working with a paver/milling machine. I know people that tried auto shift manuals with centrifical clutches and they couldn't get the performance needed it was either disengaged or moving too fast, there's no slipping the clutch in LL to keep slow for milling/paving,the Allison is proven in off road use in thousands of refuse, concrete, and dump trucks all over the country.
  11. Who you think glued the quarter there?
  12. just remember if you hear glass break and smell crap, gas it!
  13. lemme guess, co-driver picked the truckstop and got the shower and the quarter was glued in the corner of the floor?
  14. That guage might be off a hair but not far, its been my understanding that the next short line past your needle is 180 and the next line is 200, the guage doesnt go up evenly it goes farther between steps the higher the temp, I dont know if Im right for sure but its what I was told when I asked the question about my last truck, lines are 140,180,200,215,230,250,300 etc....
  15. I have 5" exhaust turbo back to just under the cab on both sides then into 6" elbows and 96" tall 6" miters, I think its quieter than my 84 with one 5", by quite a bit actually I know when I added the Dynomat to the interior of my 84 it cut the road/engine/exhaust noise by at least 30% inside, it makes a Superliner truly Super to take the interior out and put in sound insulation. on a side note I have heard an E9 truck with 6" exhaust and stack mufflers inside and while it cuts noise by about a third it just doesnt sound like a strong running truck to me, you lose the E9 pop.
  16. how bout a lego detroit http://jpbrix.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Detroit-Diesel-V6-Turbocharged-Truck-Engine.jpg
  17. Well alright, I never can kep all the eaton tranny stuff straight they make too many models, I notice people are saying the rt"L"o is the od front box and the rto is od back box know the L in rtlo is for low inertia I have an rtx 14609 that is od in the main box so I dont kow if the L has anything to do with it or not but Ill find out one way or another, I guess Ill look for an RTO14613 in a junk pile somewhere and try the back box on my rtx14609B maybe itll hold up to the E9 if I can make it happen maybe not.
  18. I have been around a couple 3408's and they are nice engines when theyre right but as above the cranks dont hold up to much power, I was told by a Cat man once that in stock configuration they will last a million miles but turn up the fuel and they will snap in 50,000, it was due to the angle as above, he told me they made the tighter angle so it would fit into truck frames, if you look at the two side by side even though the 3408 is larger it is not as wide as the E9. I would still rather have my E9 but Id love to have a 3408 in an old W900 A model ext hood too!
  19. I can actually see why most of those are armed agencies but about a third could do without weapons and be just fine.
  20. Looks like a military surplus Cummins from a 5 ton they were all delivered naturally aspirated most never got turbos but some got lucky.
  21. ok more than one fact more of a rant I just had to do it.
  22. I have been staying out of this till now but I have to point out one fact, our Govt has spent so much money in the past 8 years that we could not reverse the national debt in the remainder of my lifetime, MOST! of this spending has been in Govt bailouts, Govt assistance(welfare, foodstamps, free phones, insurance, healthcare, housing) for those that DO NOT WANT TO WORK not that cant work they DO NOT WANT TO WORK!, Homeland Security, and other! I now challenge anyone here to tell me what other means on an expense report and why Homeland Security needs to be an armed force when we already have two national armed agencies, the FBI and Secret Service, why is homeland security working basically without a budget and spending more money than any one branch of our armed forces? Why does Homeland security need armored personnel carriers? why do they need millions of rounds of ammunition and weapons? why are they not just an intelligence and liason office with the already established FBI and local law enforcement? The EPA has stuck their nose into anything they can and even gone to the point of adding armed officers to their staff, why? Why are we not allowed to be able to have a real gas can anymore? do they think the vapors dont exit the can when it gulps air? guess what they do, they are in the final stages of legislation to put a tax on livestock emissions! livestock emissions people, that is cow farts! you will be taxed per head of livestock in the coming years based on weight for thei emissions! When will it end? possibly not in my lifetime, but if it doesnt I will quit my job and get on the govt dime too because they take 30% of my check to give to others now and there are 51% of the population working to support the other 49 now, how long till its 49% working to support the other 51 and then we are well and truly FUCKED!
  23. Yeah as above the cab size is the same you just get two more doors, thats it.
  24. I was waiting on a picture of one in a scrap yard, but that works too I think I still have a couple resin kits for Detroit 8V92's and a 6V92 somewhere with all my truck model stuff, I have an E9 and a trtxl 1070 too! I just cant make myself buil any ofthe models to put em in.
  25. I won't comment on my days riding or driving the bus other than, when your on a field trip waiting outside and the hot young teacher/chaperon/soccer mom comes to say high there's plenty of room to stretch across those seats!
