  1. I have CRD92/93 carriers on 44 rears, I dont think those carriers will fit in my housings and I know the axles are different and I dont really want to swap all that stuff this thing is heavy enough as it is.
  2. Mt Eagle is a good test for a truck, its not far from me and Ive been over it in a bunch of trucks, the last E9 truck was the best puller but I havent had a load on this one to try Mt Eagle yet. I was thinking about the Dale Francis heads the valve seats are the weak point for sure and they have it solved.
  3. HMMM! that ones too easy Ill let it go this time.
  4. (also why I dont hav e a webcam)
  5. I thought a B to a Superliner was the right thing to do as you get old enough to handle the big hood! I was always told a B was a trainer truck, and the RW was the graduation present for a Driver.
  6. Idle em up over 800 if they are gonna sit still for more than 15 minutes ro so to keep oil pressure up to the top end and keep all the fuel burnt off, as far as load goes I have run them pretty heavy all day and the only issue I ever had was a turbo split in half on me but it was 22 years old too. The biggest concern with an E9 is parts cost and availability, they are getting hard to buy parts for. I know many people talk trash about how they dont hold up but those are the same people that dog the crap out of them and dont adjust the overhead or torque the head bolts. I talked with a man in KY that had 12 in RW's and CL's the newest was a 95 and had already retired 8 more all current trucks had over 500,000 miles hauling coal 120,000lbs at a time, he said he adjusted the valves and retorqued the head bolts every year and did rod and main bearings at 500,000 and had only had two go down, he told me one that went down only had 45,000 miles on it and Mack rebuilt it under warranty and it was still running and the other had a valve seat come out of a head around 650,000. I talked to him for hours just listening to someone that seemed to know what he was talking about and in his opinion it was a great engine and when his trucks were finally wore out he was getting out of the business, said he had tried an ETECH 460XT, Cummins N-14 525, and Cat 3406E 550 and none of them pulled the hills and lasted like the Mack E9, he told me to replace my rod and main bearings every 500k and to run the overhead and torque the head bolts once a year and if I ever had a head off replace all the head gaskets and bolts and start with the once a year thing again and I wouldnt have any issues. I have noticed driving my last E9 truck that they dont need to be revved more than about 1600 to do anything if you run em higher you just burn more fuel, I would say just let the engine do the work not your foot and take care of it and you will be fine.
  7. No Comment, but she called herself Whisper at work.
  8. I must have missed it, do you know what carriers they are?
  9. I know a nice set of D's from a B is right at $6000
  10. I can post this, put her in this top on the fender of a Superliner, use your imagination for orientation............
  11. My comments on that picture are not allowed on family friendly media outlets!
  12. ha, you don't think vinny has to wear a helmet to school do ya? And water wings for soup day?
  13. Ha I have seen several people do that, I have a pic of an old Ertl Backhoe I had on mine once, I need to find that.
  14. 25,000, hell my 84 Superliner daycab weighed 19000 by itself I think it was 29,200 with a 26' rogers aluminum dump trailer.
  15. JUNK, I have tried Thomas they just arent as heavily built and when you run a 90 passenger bus 100miles a day they need to hold up, the 93 had a 8.3 210hp Cummins and allison 4spd with 4.10 rears the 2010 has a 8.3 ISC 285hp with a 5spd allison and 4.89 rears, gotta have power to haul a high school football team and their gear, those buses weigh in about 36000 loaded, both had 13,200 front axles and 23,000 rears.
  16. Ray if you just need a place to park either one I can find the room here, I might even be inclined to replace some crossmembers if I got bored, that rgn would look good behind the Superliner, looks like its a low height trailer too so you got plenty of clearance to haul a tall sleeper truck.
  17. Yeah they fog up quick, been there had a few Blue Bird with 8.3 Cummins all the way, heres the 93 and the 2010.
  18. Your right they are crappy pictures!, ha lol I never seem to be ready to take pics when I pass the Dogs here, I have passed the same Black Rawhide pulling a drop deck on I-24 4 times and never have gotten a pic. Keep up the good work only clean the lens next time, lol.
  19. Santa Ray was probably a little sick delivering one not driving his but hey that CH is a nice truck too, now we just gotta get Ray to turn the fuel to that ETECH.
  20. sounds like your as excited as i was when I got mine home! looks like a great truck wish you luck with it, thats a great powertrain combo, I will guess 4.17 rears?
  21. I cant even remember how I got there but I found a video with an F model heavy haul tractor in Turkey so here ya go its the second pull truck, then it gets to pull it all by itself into the port, pretty neat I just wish you could hear the truck.
  22. so good he made it to the interstate before he lost the trailer.
  23. Just out of pure curiosity did you get any numbers off the trans in your truck? Im pretty sure one of us could give you a better idea of the rpm drop if any you would get out of the swap if we knew which trans you had, then we would know what your top gear ratio is. And have you thought obout keeping it all Makc and finding a Mack OD trans to drop in, it would make it an easier swap for sure, something like a t2090 or trtxl1070. the 2090 would give you a .68 od the trtxl makes it a .78od
  24. Naa not really I was driving witht the windows down for the video and its still not that loud, I know an E7 with straight pipes is about twice as loud as an E9, at least I think so.
