  1. You can turn that engine up and make plenty of power without changing anything other than the settings in the pump, as for the tires size and gearing, leave it alone you dont want to run an engine at max rpm all the way down the road, and if I remember right peak torque for that engine falls off around 1400 so Ill bet it slows down till it gets into the power band and then pulls on out. Just remember there is a lot more involved here than just rpm and road speed, if you run the rpm near max you are way past your peak torque so when you hit a hill it drops back to where the engine makes the torque needed to pull the hill out, if you had a 13 spd and a 3.86 gear you could drop to 9th low and get it into the power band to come on up a hill and by dropping from a .73 od or 9th high to a .86 or 9th low(eaton 13spd Mack is a little higher) you would actually get better torque multiplication thru the tranny and the higher gear(3.86 would be fine). I know I will get some crap for these comments but I wouldnt post it if I hadnt tried it, your truck will pull better near the peak torque rpm than it does at max rpm, just watch the tach on those hills and tell me Im wrong if my math is right you are maxed out at 70 and you are turning about 1400 at 63 which is the mph you said you hold a hill and that is dead in the peak torque for that engine. Get with a reputable pump shop or someone that knows that pump and you can turn up the governor and let the rack travel a little more to give you fuel faster that will help your boost get up quicker and if you can get the pump up about 10% and advance the timing about 10 degrees it will feel like a whole nother truck, but it will still pull best where it was designed to make torque not max rpm.
  2. So how many superliners does that make in your fleet? Looks good, don't overdo the shoulder let it heal
  3. Oh and check out the band cold truth playing their song diesel, my buddy Kurt plays lead guitar I have it favorited on my channel
  4. Thanks for the comments, ill try to get a better video or two in the next few weeks, looking for a gopro camera and a universal mount so I can get some sweet angles.
  5. Anti lock airbrakes, and about 80,000 lbs of pure good luck.
  6. At least I'm not the only one that was busy uploading tonight, glad to see another old Mack running again.
  7. Its a 9 spd with 4.64 rears, i was probably in 2nd or 3rd leaving the stop sign, I can sidestep the clutch at idle in 2nd so that's normally where I start but I get into 9th by about 45 MPH so ya know whatever.
  8. Well I finally got a video of my Superliner uploaded, its not much but I didnt have a good mount for the camera so I just layed it on the dash. Turn up the sound and enjoy an E9 V8 thru some 6" stacks.
  9. hmmm, this could be interesting but I dont think I have enough time to post all my other toys.
  10. yeah 13 and 18 have two od gears they are both based on an od 9 speed main box with an underdrive rear box, so in the case of the 13 if you removed the back box it would be 1.1 in 8th and .73 in 9th and with the back box its 1.1 in 8th high and .73 in 9th high like the chart above, if you do a gear flip you actually give it 4 od gears as the 1.1 drops down one whole gear in the main box so it would be 1.1 in 7th high, .86 in 8th low .73 in 8th high .68 in 9th low and .62 or .64 somewhere in there in 9th high of course this is all from memory so I may be off a hair or two.
  11. Really! thats a lot of research that I just cant make myself do I still dont remember what the Mack model designations mean, like RWS722LST I know its a superliner from hayward with an E9440 but I dont know which one means what anymore.
  12. I love a superliner, nice truck good luck with it, I ran my 84 E9 440 truck pulling my dump trailer and pulling rail containers had 4.42 rears and I got 6-7mpg almost always around 6.8 with the dump trailer. I hope it treats you right if not you can bring it to me ill give it a good home here with the 85.
  13. favorite sign in IQ....
  14. oh and with lo pro 22.5's that makes a mere 59mph @1800rpm go to a .73 you get 80
  15. that thing might fly with a 3.54, if it has 11r 22.5's and a direct trans the 3.54 that only makes about 69mph at 2000rpm, with a .73 od it jumps to 94 @2000rpm all 18 spds have 2 od gears and most people consider that a double overdrive, the older eaton double od trans and flipping an eaton to get double od will get you a .64 od gear I think and you will have 4 od gears in a flipped 18spd.
  16. military junk yard huh?.................
  17. not finished....You have no idea when I was overseas we were giving the Iraqis MRAPs and HMMWVs several at a time, we rebuilt their military bases created whole cities around some of them and then just gave it all to them. I doubt anyone knows how many Billions of dollars of equipment we gave to Iraq and how many Billions of dollars of infrastructure we built and gave to Iraq, the numbers would be mind boggling, we built or rebuilt hundreds of buildings and tents at Talil airbase got the base up and running and then just turned it over complete with probably a hundred vehicles we just left there for them to use. I am sure it was the same at all the Major bases there I know we spent tons of money at BIAP (Baghdad International Airport) and Camp liberty near the airport and just gave it to them.
  18. OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!
  19. the military was pretty quick to adopt automatics, there were a ton of trucks with small v8's too all setup to run on diesel and jp8 most of the trucks we ran in IQ were running on jp8. I have seen lots of surplus trucks with 3208 cats and 8.2 Detroit's even the big het's have Allison automatics and v8's its a 500hp 8v92 but its a v8, the new het's supposedly have 700hp cat engines but I haven't gotten to check one out yet.
  20. by wanted too you mean not doing it? oh oops I thought it was ok to yell at kids.
  21. get some valve cover gaskets and pop the covers athen you will be able to work the rack by handshould be able to see the issue, I have had some luck just tapping the injector with a small brass hammer after coating the rack with penetrating oil, we have a ton of Detroits here at CSX everything from 3-53's to 8-92's and I have seen a stuck rack about 10 times so far after a machine has sat in the weeds unused for a while most can be tapped and poked and prodded back to life.
  22. Sad thing but the media and your elected officials are already calling for federal gun control laws, never mind that the gun didnt do anything it was not designed to do, it was used by a person to fire a bullet and hit a target, the fact that a piece of shit used it to shoot kids at a school doesnt change that fact but if this keeps up obammy and clinton are gonna get their way and we are going to all be screwed and unable to defend ourselves. I know I may be the only person that looks at it like this but hey someone has to see that the issue is not that guns are bad the issue is that people that use guns to kill other people for no reason at all are bad. I just cant stop thinking to myself after all of the shootings in the media over the past few years, that all happened at places that it is illegal to carry a gun or in a state that does not allow handgun carry, if there had been one person there with a carry permit and that person had their pistol and they shot the "shooter" before they killed all those people who would be the bad guy then?
  23. Best I can figure to only other users of F900's were certified concrete in New York and belgian heavy haulers.
  24. I just got off the phone, my "source" tells me that to the best of his knowledge all the F900 military trucks were purchased by the US army then delivered to the Moroccan army to be used in Morocco and I even got a pic of one rusting there today.......your welcome!
