  1. They make a Mack with an AFTERBURNER? Sweet I gotta get me one of those!
  2. I let a sheriffs deputy hunt here at the house and he got a 7 pointer here this afternoon, the spread was really wide for a 7 real tall too just not many points it was big enough to be a 10 just long smooth antlers.
  3. I hope its something i the wind or clunking to a rough road just seems odd to be timed with driveline rotation (faster at one speed slower at another)
  4. a clunk at a constant interval with tire rotation leads me to the drivetrain, I dont know what in the driveline is moving slow enough to clunk every 5 seconds at 30mph so that makes me think its the body or frame but it wouldnt be timed with driveline rotation so Im gonna have to go with the only thing I can think of and that is a transmission output or countershaft issue, the gears rotate at a speed consistant with driveline rotation as the gears turn you may have a chipped or broken tooth or pair of teeth that one on a large gear and one on a small gear only come into contact once every two to four revolutions try to keep the truck as quiet as possible on a very smooth road and put your fingertips on the gearshift and put slight pressure to the out of gear side (push ever so lightly like you were pushing it out of gear to put tension on the gears and see if it goes away or you can feel a tick timed to the sound. Another question is this in every gear or just top gear?
  5. sweet old trucks, it makes me happy every time I see an old truck running I just think to myself "take that EPA"
  6. as above is the clunk constant with driveline speed meaning gets faster as you speed up slower as you slow down, is it every few seconds at the same interval or does it seem to change pace at a set cruising speed?
  7. I found these while cruising evilbay, they look to be pretty decent so Im going to get a couple coming thought I would share with the rest of you. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MACK-TRUCK-REPRODUCTION-DECAL-STICKER-LARGE-12-INCH-WIDE-/230751441285?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35b9db9185&vxp=mtr
  8. There are a few Cat trucks here in TN but they havent taken hold here like other places I think there are only a handful around most people have had issues with acert engines and heard about issues with the trucks and dont want to jump into a $150,000 stripped down work truck that wont run more than a couple weeks at a time.
  9. If I might be so bold, what is the Borg Warner p/n you are using, is it a stock replacement or a slighly larger turbo and for what hp engine? I am still trying to decide what to do with my E9-450 right now the turbo is ok but you never know and p/n's are good to have in your file cabinet.
  10. I may or may not happen to have an 8V71 and 8V92 blower awaiting a future project! MAY OR MAY NOT!
  11. Sure looks like a tire bounce, but it could be a bent axle shaft or two out near the hub I would do as advised above, jack the truck up ans spin the tires against a guage of some kind, you can just use a stick with a mark on it nothing fancy and see if the tire or wheel are wobbling from there check the hub of the offending wheel to determine the culprit.
  12. If watts can't help Phil at global truck parts may have some used ones call 603-239-7008. Good luck with the truck, post pics I'm glad another superliner is getting fixed up.
  13. Oh and no clutch thats just silly!
  14. I have heard that rpm tossed around for years people tell you what rpm to run the engine up to to make it shift, fact is if you learn the truck and let the truck tell you when to shift it works fine no matter where the rpm is, I have just give the truck some throttle and as the torque starts to drop and the tension on the driveline eases I shift, running a truck to 2100 rpm to shift it is a complete waste of fuel and actuall y just makes it harder to shift, go find me a Mack or any other engine that is in a truck today that makes its peak torque at 2100rpm. Once the torque is played out all those extra rpm's are just wasted fuel and wear and running an engine that far out of the power band makes doesnt let the rpm drop back into the power band so you just wind it out again and dont really use the torque of the engine. I say this anyone that has the opportunity go take a loaded truck and wind it out in every gear for a half a day, then for the rest of the day give the truck about half throttle or so and as you feel the torque start to settle down, shift and you will keep the engine in the power band it was made to run in and I will bet you that you will gain speed faster, burn less fuel, your oil will hold up longer, you will maintain speed on hills better and you wont be nearly as stressed at the end of the day, Ill bet running like that you will never get anywhere near 1800-2100rpm, it will be more like 1400-1600rpm. So who will take this challenge to heart, Ill also note that when I started driving a truck I drove the crap out of em, I ran em till they wouldnt go any more and I had to sit back and listen to the old guys and watch them drive and see how much less fuel they used and how they always kept a smile on thier faces before I finally got it a few years later but I finally got it and I hope I can help others learn too in the years to come.
  15. that is the shifter for the trtxl1070, the trtxl107 has an air shift main and a manual shift deep reduction, it will have the one tall shifter with the 4 position air shifter, and shorter shifter with just two positions for low and direct, the air shifter shifts, l-d-n-r the trtxl 1070 is an Overdrive trans with the pattern you have posted above and the trtxl1070B has an air switch on the dash for the deep reduction and only one shifter and shifts as the trtxl1070 above.
  16. That is definitely low miles but as stated above if it had a pump on it the hours would be about triple what they would be on another truck with equvalent mileage. I wonder how much it was actually used and how many times they just pumped off the tank for water supply with the truck sitting there at high idle, still crazy low miles and I doubt there is any rust or scratches anywhere on it, its probably been sitting inside its whole life.
  17. I agree on the air ride, it is nice on the back but its not too geat off road or under a dump with the bed in the air, 44k Mack Camelback all the way for a dump truck I think its probably the best suspension ever made for the job. I tried to spread some rock with an air ride dump truck once, Im still scared of freightliner dump trucks years later.
  18. I thought the 25m was the pre production version of the 24 series, if I remember right it was largely 988 rear sheetmetal and cab and after testing the production model was the 24 series now up to the 24h I don't think they have a 24k yet but that will be the next one if it follows the loaders.
  19. ha I just asked that question a month or two back and got nothing supposedly the right ht4c ht60 will work but there are 5 different versions, I would love to know MHE9 says call antrim diesel they have the turbo figured out but it requires some work.
  20. I knew staxx had this one covered, show off!
  21. I like that 18th anniversary comment ill save that one for future use, happy birthday.
  22. If the boost is only at 22 its low for a 460 if I'm not mistaken they run 30-35psi. The low power and lack of boost with the malfunction light on is probably derate mode, staxx can probably tell you what to check off the top of his head I have never had to deal with a wastegated 460 they were all non wastegated.
  23. there ya go, now you need one of the programmers to give you some more HP and you can keep that rpm down, I think that was a good move getting that truck you should be happy with it, and now you can get the rw ready to show too.
  24. Ha, beefy unit! Yeah that's hard to resist for list of us.
  25. We don't have any big truck junk yards to speak of here in middle tn I would love to take a trip to the NY,NJ,pa area yards but they are in NY,NJ,and pa and I will get a nose bleed up there.
