  1. From the album: my trucks

I had this guy pull in next to me with his MH and coming back across from the other side of the show a guy asked me if I had my truck lowered I said no its on 11R24.5's even, then I saw what it looked like next to the MH from a distance.
  2. From the album: my trucks

a side view to show the drop on the visor
  3. From the album: my trucks

heres a pic after the visor and bumper install, its coming together
  4. believe it or not I have seen that before they were using it to dump out a garbage trailer without a live floor instead of the big dump rack they put em in now.
  5. that is the kit to add them to the truck after assembly I had one of those years ago and I cant find the p/n anywhere but hey maybe I can use those pics and make it if I cant get the other stuff fgured out, thanks for the pics.
  6. Yes shocks were an option for several years I am pretty sure front shocks are std now but hey crazier things have happened to save a buck.
  7. Thats awesome guys, I appreciate it, I actually just found an 85 MH in Nashville with 34000 camelback rears that has it and got the breakdown for it if anyone needs the parts for theirs. camelback 34k shocks.pdf
  8. I would put the 4.42 rears in it, almost every dump truck here has 4.42 with an eaton OD trans and 4.64 with a Mack OD. I know I ran an R model tri axle dump (actually several different ones) with 350 E7 and 8ll trans with 4.42 and that seemed to be the best set up you could get for what we did, we hauled 74000 on those trucks and they ran 70-74 mph with it, slowed down on hills and 74 was 2100 rpm wound out so we tried to run em around 16-1800 and they ran great for several hundred thousand miles. I can say if it was mine and I had 4.42 rears there, they would already be in it you will be amazed at the difference in power going from 4.17 to 4.42 it doesnt sound like much but the torque multiplys a lot.
  9. I cant get lenses without the lights and it has some casting marks that vinyl wont like to stretch over but I do think I have found a solution, its called ALCLAD.
  10. I HEAR YA! Where have all the parts guys gone, I remember when I started trucking I went in and asked for a part not knowing the number and the guy behind the counter said, is it the one with two bolts or three, I said 3 he went back and brought it to me in like 2 minutes then just typed the number in to make a ticket. I think we as a society have become to dependant on computers to do our work for us, go to a store and buy something and give the kid some odd amount to pay for it, they look at it like its calculus,WTF man? I would love to have pics of the shock mounts on your cutoff if you can get em on here I can at least take em and say I WANT THIS! thanks for the reply and no worries about the outburst I do it daily.
  11. You can have the pump set up for more power, if I remember right to go to the same everything (stock parts)as a 300 you have to change, the injectors, turbo, pump settings, and....... I think thats it actually. I am sure just bumping the pump up will get you more power, you can find a turbo from a 300 or 350 and swap it to get more air to keep your temps down with a hot pump it also makes more power by keeping the air/fuel ratio closer to where it should be. I will say this, dont get greedy with the pump if you have it redone, you can go way up on fuel and not make a lot more power you will just get everything hot on hills and smoke like crazy.
  12. Vlad the only ones they have are the gray plastic I was trying to find the chrome, Barry looked for me and came up empty handed so I guess Ill get the gray ones and paint em to match my fenders.
  13. 25hp rating is a pretty big difference and its also two different engines with different emissions control stuff I bet the 90 has a puff limiter so it doesnt smoke like crazy and the 79 does not. As far as 2100 rpm goes, an E6 is played out at about 16-1700 dont run it higher youll just burn more fuel and kill the engine faster, those engines run best under 1600 I dont think I ever ran the old E6 300 I drove anything over 1650 to pull maybe a bit higher for road speed but thats it. Shift that thing around 15-16 it will run better, trying to shift it so far past its power band you are just coming back into the very top of it in the next gear so its not gonna do much either, remember old Mack engines are high torque rise low rpm engines, not 238 detroits.
  14. Yep! I jsut cant find the info on it anymore, from the factory you got the lower mount welded to the front axle spring saddle, the kit used two longer bolts for the rear bolts in the saddle, I just need the numbers again.
  15. I FEEL YA! I never understood the Mack with a Cat thing just seems wrong to me, of course every Mack I have ever had and ever driven has had a Mack engine and only 3 havent had Mack trans and all have had Mack rears.
  16. I had em on 44, I think they came from 38 Vin they worked just fine, actually they worked great at controlling camelback hop.
  17. There's a red 85 I think superliner triaxle , e9 500 15spd heavy haul daycab a few miles from my house for $12500
  18. I have 44000 camelback suspension on my trucka nd want to add the factory shock mounts, obviously with this new breed of parts guys I need a vin from a truck that has them so I can get the parts for mine. I would appreciate it if anyone who has Mack 44k rear camelback with shocks would let me at their vin to order my parts to add them to my truck, its a little stiff to bobtail to truck shows without em, any bump in the road and away it goes bouncing. I know the upper shock mount is a stud that replaces a trunnion bolt and the lower is a block with a stud or bolt hole(cat remember right now) that welds to the axle near the spring mount. Thanks in advance for any help I can get, Ill take the two or four shock setup either makes it ride soooo much better, ill let you at my vin if my truck has any parts you may be hunting.
  19. I may not be reading that right but do you have a front tire out of round? Even 1/8" is enough to bounce and without balancing and good shocks it could be a pretty nasty bounce, I have Equal balancing powder in all my tires and as long as they are at the right pressure they run smooth but if big tires are under inflated they will bounce like a ball, make sure your tires are within 5 psi of the sidewall rating on the steer and 10 psi on the drive, if they are recaps I would run them 10 psi under the sidewall till its over 90 degrees then I would drop them to 15 psi under the sidewall marking. I hate to say that any out of round tire can cause a bounce especially on dayton wheels, make sure the wheels are straight, jack the wheel up just a little off the ground then set a hammer or block or whatever up next to the tire and spin it to see if it gets closer or farther from it, if so the lugs need to get backed off and re torqued in sequence to straighten the wheel. Make sure your shocks are good they wont control those small bounces if all the fluid has leaked out and they arent expensive so I normally swap em every couple years even if they arent leaking, its worth it for the ride. If your steer tires are not balanced got o a tire shop and get them done or have tire balancer like equal added to the tires it helps A LOT.
  20. I bet there were more E9's there than there are in the US all together, I should have come to "borrow" some parts while nobody was looking.
  21. Efaxsend,wtf? Predictive crap, I meant staxx.
  22. Oh and don't get too comfy efaxsend we have 3 weeks to the next show, I think we have rime to stretch it!
  23. Thanks for posting some pics I'm being lazy tonight, thanks again to staxx for his help getting the truck ready, and to mhe9 for the intercooler pipes they got me back going. I do have more pics ill post of old trucks as soon as I rest for about 24 hours.
  24. I went back and read a few things on E9 upgrade turbos and talked to a few people and I hear the Holset 4c ht60 and ht80 are great upgrade for an E9 with a little more fuel ht60 for med hp ht80 for big power/pulling. The question no one has been able to answer 100% for sure yet is, does it fit in the stock location, stock pedestal, staock intake/exhaust stuff or am I going to have to get some more parts together for this thing. I happen to have an HT60 within grabbing distance if its not going to be too big a pain to swap, any info is good info.
  25. No trips to PA this year, I have to re-gear and bushing before I go too far. I am going to the Chrome and Class show in Smyrna TN Oct 20th and that will probably finish me up for this year, I plan to make it to gearharts next year but who knows what may happen by then. I had two guys offer to buy it today one I had to tell no 5 times, I hope I can get it stretched and cleaned up some more, paint the frame and get some 3.86 or something like it gears in it by next show season.
