  1. Correct I have a medical issue that prevents me from getting things typed correctly, its called stupid fingers! Lol
  2. I need a 1241 if anybody has one, I'm scared I'll break anything lighter.
  3. David Wray, formerly Spicer truck service's 69 RS600L
  4. if you are hearing a high pressure or high velocity air purge sound coming from under the hood your over pressure purge pop off valve may be going bad. There should be a small (1-1.5" round screw in pop off valve on the air compressor i think on that truck, it is the safety pop off for over pressure and should bleed air over 150. However they do go bad every now and then and bleed at a lower pressure, its just a spring in there under tension against air pressure, they can sound like a purge valve on a dryer, I have replaced several in the past so theres something to check out.
  5. Just drive it easy and let the truck do the work and youll probably get better fuel mileage because the engine will make so much more power it wont have to work as hard anymore. Im sure youll be amazed what those Antrim injectors will do to wake it up, just go easy on the Cat crowd you know they get hurt feelings when dogs make fun of em on hills (sure is fun though).
  6. Naa, it would contaminate the water, dont need the detroit version of the Valdez out at the lake!

Looks like a big roof, get one or two of the big plastic tanks and run a gutter downspout in the top. Then you just need some PVC and a small pump, did it in a barn years ago and it worked well, modern day sistern.
  10. That truck is awesome, great to see another one getting some love.
  11. Run it around 15-20 during normal driving, try to keep it under 25 but if I need it it'll go to 38 pretty fast. It will pull 91700 up a long hill without slowing down at 25-26# of boost so I don't push it.
  12. Looks killer, think I'll try it in the Superdog.
  13. Dont think there's any waxing places that could handle that job!
  14. You do have to remember your running a 12 liter now not a 14 liter, that being said they can be made to run well. First don't run it wide open, if its an 01 its only an 1800rpm engine, not a 2100rpm engine. You also don't have to stick with the Mack 400-427-460 ratings, I'm not sure why but it seems no one thinks you can do anything aftermarket but you can. Rochester Fuel Injection has a turbo, injectors and computer programming. I'm sure Antrim Diesel can do things for the etech engines too.
  15. I have a 1450# trans, got Antrim injectors, Antrim turbo, 20% over pump, governor wide open.......I get 6.5-6.8mpg.
  16. Ding ding ding, couple folks got it right, the angled tailgate is to more clearance when the bed is raised, most trucks built for paving have the angled gate so you don't hit the bottom of the hopper on a paver. I have run basically identical RD's with both 6" slant and 12" slant gates on Rogers bodies and with the 6" slant you had to be careful not to raise the bed all the way so you don't hit the box.
  17. Call Antrim diesel and get some good injectors and it'll go even harder.
  18. I would be awfully curious to know how they got the MP8 to work in there, I've been pondering that for a long time.
  19. Try Winrock Truck Parts, 1-800-676-0052, they have acres of old Mack truck parts
  20. How did you do the wood dash panels, that would look sweet in the Superliner, looks great in the MH!
  21. the ones Ive seen were all MP7, mpst 405hp, 8LL or allison, all were on the low 5 something gear range and had 20-23k steer and 58-65k rears and double or triple frames. They are probably so damn heavy and so slow they wouldnt be usable for much more than pit trucks, the allison trucks would probably make bad ass extreme heavy haul trucks.
  22. Huh, didnt know it was called killer back in the early days, we dont get the big boy truck pullers down here.
  23. $3500 for a running 1970 Mack RL with a detroit V8, hell thats a steal in my book! Nice find there, hope you have lots of luck with it, Im like Mike looks like it needs a bumper and a bath and its good to go.
  24. Granites are higher if you get each with minimal chassis changes, the Granite has a larger frame standard than the pinnacle, same for axles and steering i believe but not sure on them.
  25. Ha, the announcer was a little off, said Ray Collins in the Killer Mack, oh well, the ol Buckeye Bulldog made a hell of a run there.
