Mikes got the idea problem is Mack was weird about the gold dogs in the 90's-2000's, my 93 CH had the gold dog but my 04 Granite did not, both all Mack, more so on the Granite really (camelback versus Hendrickson air ride,labelled mack). I have been thru this a few times, my 84 Superliner had a gold dog, a buddy's mid 90's RD also had one but others did not. A Mack corporate guru told me the reason the Granite didn't have it in 04 was that no Granite had a gold dog, shortly after a friend got one and bam gold on the hood. No real rhime or reason to it.

Sounds ok depends on your tire size and desired road speed but most around here run 4.42-4.64 rears with 11R24.5 tires.

Sounds like a vgt turbo or wastegated turbo closing off to raise the engine temp when its cold to me. Does it happen when its warm? If not after the engines up to temp its just helping it warm up.

Hmm, well you got axle,oil and trans temps, application pressure, boost and air cleaner restriction. I got all but the air cleaner restriction and application pressure, I'm thinking about the application pressure and outside temp guages, the air cleaner would be all screwed up with the big turbo so no point there.

well I have had it up to just over 30 but I havent been too hard on it loaded yet, I can maintain spee don a hill around 60-70k with 15-20psi, dont really know when ill use all that turbo can put out. Farmer, that screw got thrown out a long time ago, its got some industrial injector nozzles and turbo and its been cranked up a "little" bit, runs, gooooood! it makes a 3406E look like a 3126 on hills, I wanted him to pull the aftercooler and install an intercooler to get a denser air charge and swap the turbo out for a newer Borg Warner to get some better air flow, i think it would be a beast. Probably give me a run for my money if we went thru it and freshened it up and did those mods.
