  1. like above, if it still looks good get a smaller seperate condensor and mount it behind it, Im actually planning to do it to mine when I need one cause Ive replaced the lines to the grilledensor more than once for leaking where they flex, of course I open the hood every day at least once.
  2. Well a friend just got a new Granite, MP7 405hp, Allison 4500, 4.19 Mack rears and 11R24.5 rubber, says it runs better than his aset trucks in town and twice as much power as the 07 MP7 405 truck he had leased. I have been told by a few folks that the new SCR MP7 405 is a pretty stout truck, with 4.19 rears on tall rubber and it runs as good or better than a 427 ASET Ill say its a done deal if I was ordering a dump truck, you get light weight and good power with great economy. If you want more torque and dont hit the bog road much get 4.80 rears and multiply that torque some more, the Allison trucks used to be spec'd with 5.02 rears and ran interstate speeds so Id say you will be "A - OK".
  3. I was thinking euro, no cab lights, corner markers and the euro tag, I bet you would get more than a few looks at Macungie with it.
  4. I use a closed end wrench and a shallow well 1/2" drive socket and breaker bar on mine, once i break em loose I use a 3/8" shallow socket and swivel head ratchet to get em up as far as possible while still able to get the ratchet off the bolt, then its down to an open end wrench. The 1/2" breaker bar is my preferred method for breaking and final torque on install. If you get a cheap wrench and bend it like a distributor wrench it works better but you can do it without.
  5. Yeah, a smaller separately mounted condenser would actually work better, I have seen it done on Super liners so they can get rid of the troublesome hoses going to the hood.
  6. Hmm, can you say long hood R or RW? That would be a pretty cool ride with a 12V71TT!
  7. What size buckets do they run on those little machines, I've seen excavators in some bad positions but never seen one go over.
  8. Showoff! Lol, wouldn't mind having that mill around for a while.
  9. NY has always had spome screwy weight rules, other than MI I dont know anywhere else that let you run so heavy on your axles, TN,AL,KY,AR,MO,MS max per axle is 20k, ga is 25k I believe, ll have to have sufficient tire rating to hold the weight and the max on secondary roads hovers froim 68000-80000 for a triaxle(4 axles) and on the interstate goes by fed bridge law so most 16' body trucks were stuck in the mid 50k area. hell on secondary roads the most TN would ever give you is 66k on a tandem (3 axles) 74k on a triaxle (4 axles) 80k on a quad (5 axles). In TN you can get an annual permit for 120k for $500 but it is still 20k per axle max so nobody uses them for anything but heavy haul work, get you 120k on 5 axles if you have all 20k min axles. Just get one set weight per axle and one set weight per truck and bam, no confusion. Of course there wouldnt be any more overweight permit money coming in to the state either.
  10. If its on blocks and blocked in theyre not using it, just think how cool it would be to pull into a truck show with a 5th wheel on that thing!
  11. I almost had a tore up wednesday, I put my drain tube on my turbo and fired the truck up to make sure it sealed up.......didnt put the feed line back on the turbo though! I found out the turbo oil feed line on an E9 will drain 4 gallons of oil in under 30 seconds, concrete driveway looks nice!
  12. That guy sitting in that excavator and the radio comes alive, mud slide warning in effect, "um what?"
  13. OD I doubt that B would sit there if you really used that winch, did it have a ripper from a D9 turned backwards on the front bumper?
  14. Maximum Overdrive must have been sponsored by Mack there were a bunch in that movie, of course it was made when Mack pretty much ruled the roads around here. Hell back then I don't think there was a company anywhere that didnt have at least one.
  15. Ha, big as they are it would probably just get louder for a minute and keep running!
  16. I like the idea here, I just havent been able to throw one in that wasnt already there, I remember the TESKEY B model like it was yesterday, loved that truck.
  17. I remember the bucket wheel from years ago, the garbage truck in the pond......how?..... the big Cat in pieces, whew makes my back pocket hurt looking at it.
  18. From The Black Lillies Smokestack lady and Rob Snyders ammo....sorry I had to I just had to, im proud of it!
  19. I bought one of these for myt 84 and it was under $100 back in 06-07, what the hell man, did it really get that much more expensive to ship these cause I doubt theyre making new ones.
  20. Ok so I needed a part for my E9 I knew it would be expensive, I just didn't know I was living in denial. I had some oil leaking from the drain tube on my turbo and when I swapped it found the tube was split in two places. I figured hell I'll order it and get it right you can't fix this foil tube its too thin. Imagine my surprise to see $343.24 show up in the cost area on the screen at Mack, WTF? Its an 8" long metal foil tube with a flange brazed to one end, holy shit! I got it cheaper but still not what I wanted, not near what I wanted.

    NY HUT?

I still haven't heard anything good about trucking in NY from anybody except a guy that hauls cranes. He said they charged an extra "document" fee for NY and that it was 200% what it cost them to go into the state. The only good part Bout it was they made a couple grand extra every trip for the hassle.
  22. I don't know jack about that transmission but from looking at it in Louisville its a big heavy trans, looks large compared to an Eaton 10 speed.
  23. Its on my to do list but I think everybody here knows about those, still got to get to Macungie before Canada. Oh and I don't know French you think that'll be an issue getting laid up there? Lol
  24. So Lipe is in Paris TN, called em today they told me if I call ahead to let em knpw when Im coming they will give me a tour and talk truck stuff as long as they can, guess ill go with a Lipe for mine they seem to think itll hold if properly burnished like Ray said.
  25. Take ol Sneakers there out to a see a clean CHN or Rawhide, be an awful nice truck for a first one, the early 2000's are easy to work on, fairly reliable and of course its a Mack. I wouldnt hate him for a 359 or W900A model either though, just a lot of work to keep an old truck running for a newer trucker.
