  1. From 2.54-2.66 you shouldn't be able to tell a difference, that's like the difference between 4.42 and 4.64 its probably about 100 rpm.
  2. That Volvo trio shot makes me feel dirty.
  3. Damn! Of course you could have said..... France, he hit the switch for down and when it didn't work he surrendered!
  4. Yep Metric frame bolts in a Mack, I got no idea why they mixed sae and metric fasteners but they did.
  5. Aight fellow Mack Truck nuts, I sent a message to David McKenna Mack power train guru and he will be at MATS, I've invited him to join in our BMT photo at noon Saturday.
  6. Did you notice what the speedo in Randy's truck said before I passed him? If I had any higher gears I'd have to slip the clutch in low to get rolling! Lol! I can run all day in 8th on the big road, not even tached out.
  7. Guys please, if I had loaded a trailer to do that it would have been too embarrassing for Randy. Hell he was just pulling a garden tractor anyway!
  8. 40! Man hell no!
  9. Are you completely against an early Superliner, I happen to know where there may be one with no eng or trans.
  10. Ill sell you a running V8 Superliner with a sleeper if you get your heart right! gonna have to be RIGHT! lol
  11. That is a serious winch behind the cab on that KW, the 55k winches on a HET look small compared to those suckers.
  12. mackboy, go to the Mack corporate booth and get some pics of your group for us, I wish I would be there on friday but I gotta work so I always go on Saturday. For all those BMT fools that will be at the show on Saturday Mack booth at noon for the BMT pic, and of course we can talk trash about those that didnt come!
  13. Where is that high level CSA inspection on this shit, hell our trucks get stopped and inspected all the time and we dont carry shit, have to keep em up, and all we have to do is drop em off at a shop and tell em what to do. If I went down the road with a bad strap or a worn chain or binder I would probably get nailed in the first few miles, I got no luck trying to break the rules.
  14. Glad it went to a good home, always good to get a Superliner two fer pic too.
  15. Ha, I forgot! So yesterday a guy I was talking to said he didn't like the MP7 truck he was driving cause the guys running CAT C13/15's were out pulling him on the hills. I said "no, really?"...." You mean to tell me a 13 or 15 liter engine can out pull a 10 liter?" He sat there then said " I never thought about that". After some more discussion he decided it ran pretty good considering the size difference.
  16. Of course an MP8 is just a 13 liter, not much bigger than an etech and I've been told they run a lot better but I got no actual drive time myself.
  17. We had some Empl bodies on Volvos in Iraq, they were pretty nice, sometimes a pain to not have two big winches but it was strong.
  18. I just noticed we havent gotten any real input from drivers of the newer MP8 505 engines as to how they are doing in the Pinnacle chassis. Im curious about how they stack up on power, mileage and all around driveability, anybody care to comment? oh pics please!
  19. I love it, I dont think there is anything out there that compares to driving an E9 powered truck and toying with other trucks. I have had the opportunity to mess with just about every other truck brand, most with ,my 84 before I sold it and I think the 85 runs better than it did. I only got passed once, we were both right at gross and cruising at 68 or so and a friend did a fly by on me right at the bottom of a hill doing about 75 or 80 and I couldnt reel him back in till the top of the hill. I felt terrible and he knew it, but he also knew it was his only chance to get me on a hill cause I had made fun of him so many times before, ya know ride up next to him and shift and pull away going up hill! Hey Sleepwqalker, I can find a load adn we can give your truck a shot agains the Superdog on Mt Eagle if you want to see how it stacks up! Bring tissue! lol
  20. If its been oin to a Mack shop for repairs since it should have the updated Turbo, egr valve and programming
  21. That RW isn't far from me, its an RW713, was a tri axle dump and he put the sleeper on it and pulled the tag axle. Staxx has worked on the truck at Mack in LaVergne and I've climbed all over it before and after the conversion.
  22. Looks like an EMPL body from Austria on the back.
  23. Ahh, gotcha.
  24. Get it at least 12" above the cab, if you want to quiet it down and keep the straight pipe look get a stack muffler that fits inside your pipe. As far as how high, nobody else knows where you run better than you just look at your territory and see what will work. I have mine sitting at 12'6" and they hit a limb every now an then but I don't go down into bad areas with it either. My 84 had a single 5" that was around 11'6" and it rarely hit anything but again I'm picky about where I take my trucks.
  25. The same thing can make a turbo pull oil thru the seals too, how much oil? Is it dripping out of the crankcase vent tube, or are there a few drops under it after it sits a while?
