Big power = a big fuel bill with a big foot. There's some difference in gearing there too, if the tires are the same size and they have the same OD ratio thas s still about 200 rpm difference. I don't have any real world knowledge of the MP8's so I can't say if I think the higher HP would be a plus or no. Some engines run more efficiently and make more power than others while when pushed over a certain power threshold some start going the wrong way on efficiency in the name of ratings.

I love the line about not providing directions, there's a little stupid in anything the DHS considers a high risk area. We have recognize, record, report at CSX, supposed to record and report all non employees near our tracks and buildings. What ever happened to freedom?

the trailer bus has actually been tried for years, the largest bus in the world was a trailer behind a daycab tractor in Egypt I think built by Thomas built buses back in the 80's, heres some pics. Oh and in Cuba theyre still going strong, all the commuter buses are trailers behind our old tractors.

Its a 99 so its got an electronic engine and therefore both engine and body controllers that would have to be reprogrammed to work right after the swap. I like the Allison but its gonna be expensive, as long as the gearing is below a 4.64 you should be ok there especially if your running 22.5's. I would leave it alone unless you have a wore out trans and need a clutch, at least then your gonna be there already.

Hmmmm, 3d printed mack badges and emblems, use alclad to chrome em and make one small change to satisfy the trademark infringement thing........gonna call some folks.

A good sign guy could make stripes like the ones on your dads truck from vinyl. Could be sweet in red and white on that blue. -
I am looking for a good high quality pic of a Mack V8 badge, I don't want to drill any holes in my hood so I'm going to have some made in vinyl and see how they look. I guess what I need is a pic in decent light straight on that the sign guy can use to make em, any pics appreciated.

MT643 is a solid tranny, we used em for years behind 8.3 Cummins in school buses. The 545 is pretty weak, I helped replace a few of those over the years.

That thing is a Rhino ballast regulator that belongs to CSX, that's a Best Specialized truck it's sitting on. That's the stuff I work on at the RR, I've been talking to Best about doing some hauling for them in the TN area. Those regulators weight right at 50k.

You ever ponder some old school stripes made to fit the new truck, kinda like whats on your dads Superliner. Blue Titan with some modified old school Mack stripes would be pretty badass in my book, oh and one of a kind. Something like these in whiote and red made to fit the newer curves on the hood.......

Not hugely fond of the logo but the video was worse to me, as Kscarbel said, if your trying to sell trucks why not show us trucks? I didnt think about trucks watching that video I was waiting on the video to turn into an ad for a temp agency.

Got a new Case 580SN in 1:32 scale at the Case dealer today, if you guys live close to one go see if they have em, its a pretty decent model, Ill get a pic when I get it out of the box.

Those Mack logging trucks and M series trucks are pretty awesome, Ive been wondering if they would build a Granite of ridiculous proportions if someone wanted it. Cant you see a Granite built up like a massive oil field RD800, big 14.00 r 20 tires and maybe a 23k steer and some planetary rears, i think it would be awesome, something like the Austrailian Bigfoot but built off the Granite chassis.

I think it was freakin hilarious, there were people looking towards him and the approaching trucks and they didnt say a word, I love it! On another note, you guys noticed that was all Macks too right, cant have a Pete, Freighshaker or a Sterling out there breaking down trying to clear roads!

I keep a fire extingusher handy and have the intake hose off so I can spray it in the intake if it runs away, its gonna trash the engine anyway so I might as well save some fuel and time cleaning up a scattered mess.

I got my from Hunters custom auto in Nashville, if your talking about the shields that make it look sleepy. I get visors from Chrome Country in Smyrna TN, they can probably get the covers too.
