  1. Ouch
  2. 16' ox body, steel wheels and tanks, tri axle rd, guessing 26000# right on the back where the frame gets good and weak when they hit a bump and bounce.
  3. Ya know, there's plenty of room to put a nice big 8-71 blower in there. hmmm, blown wedge block Chrysler in an R model, that could be fun at the truck stop.
  4. Well here it is again, awful close to being tuesday and I got to go to sleep so heres my first additions to this weeks Tore Up Tuesday....... One Hell Of A Party!
  5. I knew there was a gas V8 in some of em but I had no idea what it was or what models it came in so i dared not comment, neat info though, I would think a wedge motor would need some pretty good gearing to get an R down the highway.
  6. Who has pics of that 379 pete with the dog on the hood, they must be on my other computer which is not cooperating right now. Ray, do you have any pics of that truck?
  7. An IH with a Mack drivetrain is kinda like that E9 powered Pete glider up in NJ. I love the dog on the hood of that Pete, made me laugh so hard I cried when I showed a die hard Pete friend of mine his reaction was priceless.
  8. Is it just me or is that second Mack cab over a GMC Astro with a dog?
  9. I need that cutaway E9 for the living room!
  10. Staxx what the hell did that come out of?
  11. Damn how did ya get a hole in a valve cover?
  12. Man that looks good!
  13. Yeah I know Justin, he and his family are good people, even if he doesn't have a Mack. And to the ATCA comment, there aren't any ATCA chapters or events any where near TN, Justin is the secretary of our local chapter of the ATHS.
  14. Well that's one way to get rid of it!
  15. Great pics from everybody, make sure you have some ready for next sunday it will be here before you know it.
  16. Heres one from my 84 model, remember to get your pics ready for Tore up Tuesday its coming fast.
  17. Ok, what is this a picture of?
  18. Ok folks here's the last but somehow also the first of my daily updated thread ideas. If you haven't caught on to what were doing yet please read I Got An Idear in oddns and ends, in this thread let's post only pics or info on Mack Engines on Mondays. Again post the pics on the day of the thread and comment whenever.
  19. The Titan is a setback axle truck not forward, the cab is too high and it weighs too much for everyday highway use. Just imagine taking an E9 powered CL613, not a 713 and making it an axle forward, that would be sweet and about 2000# lighter than a Titan.
  20. 1 did, IC with the LONESTAR.
  21. Damn that's a lot of trailer for a loader.
  22. No acetone in the engine it breaks oil down it doesn't add lubricity.
  23. And that is why the US is at the bottom of the list for new inventions and even engineering, makes me sick.
  24. Each time you purge the dryer? A dryer has an automatic purge valve, are you talking about draining the tanks? What type of dryer does the truck have? It should purge every time the air pressure builds to system pressure automatically, if its not there's another issue. As above oil and the dessicant cartridges in air dryers don't mix, you'll definitely want to try to clean the system out and rebuild or replace the dryer also. If you have an AD9 they are relatively easy to rebuild or replace and are fairly inexpensive, one parts place locally has rebuilt AD9's for about $20 more than a purge valve kit and cartridge to do it yourself. Remember if it has an air dryer the Bendix recommended service is yearly or every 100,000mi whichever comes first.
  25. After the E9 was dropped as an engine choice for the economical CH and then all the trucks went to that newer higher mounted cab they could fit the inline engines in straight frame rails with no problem and they are cheaper to produce than splayed rails. The reason I was told they used the splayed rails in the past was to mount the engine as low as possible for a lower center of graity thus better handling on and off road. At least that's what they told me when I was younger and went to look at a new RD, man I miss R cab trucks.
