    Trucker's GPS

Do they make one with Jenna Jameson's voice yet? If so I'd get that one.
  2. The brake trick works on any open diff, its not like a locker but it helps distribute the torque by slowing the slipping wheel. Get started moving and apply pressure to the brake pedal slowly using the throttle to keep your speed up, remember if you apply too much brake pressure the front wheels will fight you and you'll get stuck faster. Its a balancing act really but it works in the average slick spot, not so much trying to ford thru a swamp.
  3. Mack doesn't have carpets for R series cabs anymore, they have the rubber floor mat but that's it, I was going to just use blue automotive carpet and have replacements made at a local upholstery shop but I haven't had a wood floor in a truck yet so I will probably put in some dynamat and lay the laminate down with brushed aluminum strips on the edges.
  4. Do the hubs on your older trucks have hub alignment tabs? I've only seen very few on older trucks and always figured they swapped the hub, my 85 doesn't have em.
  5. I had a new front carpet but can't get the rear and the firewall pieces so I've been pondering hardwood look laminate, found so.e that is 3/8" thick and looks like rough cut old wood(shows saw marks etc). I may end up trying it out just for the hell of it, its actually cheaper than having a carpet made for it.
  6. Seems about right to me.
  7. Mike is a saint, he probably gets all the stuff the rest of us don't qualify for at Christmas. I know I've been naughty, mmm I remember it well!
  8. Only on certain hubs FullFuel, most of the 90's hubs were the same hub diameter but 70's and 80's they are rare to cross and center the wheel properly. If it doesn't have tabs sticking out, it won't hold center and you'll get a bounce.
  9. SMOKE! nice
  10. Just remember if theyre giving you shit someone else is getting a break! at least that's what I tell myself all the time, LOL!
  11. Another BMT member lost to the dark side! lol, you get what you can and what fits the job, its not always what you want.
  12. What Ray said, you don't have to do it all right now, just swap the rear hubs and you can even go low buck and put some steel wheels on it for now, do it as you have the cash, of course I have noticed the hub pilot wheels from the scrap places are about 50-100 for steel and 100-200 aluminum, so its not much different. Also remember that there are several stud lengths and you need to get the right studs to be able to use aluminum wheels and even longer for two aluminum wheels as they are twice as thick as steel. I don't think you would need aluminum inside and out though unless you just really wanted them, your not going for a lighter weight for payload just looks so that will save you some cash right there, $50 each for 4 steel inside wheels and about $150 each for 4 aluminum outside wheels thatll save you $400 right there.
  13. Id go for the original, far too may trucks losing the old school look in favor of plain one color paint or some crazy over the top paint job. I too think the Mack green/white with black frame would look nice but I think whats there now looks better just because its different, nobody else at any truck show will have the same paint as your truck, that's what I like about mine its one of a kind(at least so far).
  14. You have actually figured something out about women? a wise man once said just when you think you have it figured, you don't!
  15. is this the encyclopedia bitchica?
  16. Decided I'd give it a shot with some Tennessee shine, this stuff is made not far from a friends house, its 52.5% alcohol 105 proof about as close to real shoe as you'll get. Probably because they used the recipe from the real stuff they made before they got a license.
  17. You should be able to swap a front axle for about $400-$500 and a drive for around $650-$750, that's new bearings, drums and all. I can get used stud piloted aluminum wheels around $200 ea and most are rough, used hub pilots are around $150 and most are nice, just need to be polished.
  18. Yeah just cross reference the mack numbers at any Fleetpride, TruckPro or other truck parts place.
  19. Maddog in Nashville? Man that makes like 6 BMT members that have come thru here and not given me a reason to drive the Superliner for a meet. Ha, like I really need an excuse to go for a drive.
  20. I was just looking for a flatbed 1 ton and found some pretty sweet deals on craigslist around here, remember these are TN trucks, no rust. http://nashville.craigslist.org/ctd/4242667864.html http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/4242682317.html I doubt this one has two hundred million miles on it.
  21. half a liter is about 2.1 cups, a liter is just over a quart, like 1.05 quarts I think so 4.2 cups, id try it at 2 cups and then go for the extra if it was still smooth, might try it actually, of course its been almost 4 years since I had any alcohol at all, the day before I went to IQ in Feb 2010.
  22. Call Winrock Truck Parts 800-676-0052, they're in Oliver Springs TN but they can get it to you.
  23. I put the square led lights on my 84 too, I just wanted to keep this one old school, no led lights, no big wide ride leather seats, I'm liking it so far just because its different than everybody else's chicken trucks.
  24. That's only 43.75mph average tell her at least you weren't speeding! Its half true, I think.
