  1. I do govdeals, and govt liquidation but I'm out on anything I have to give a credit card number for.
  2. Just build a tater gun out of schedule 80, you can really get some good velocity out if em using 100psi of compressed air.
  3. Yep, longer cab to axle length it won't fit.
  4. Was it in good shape Vinny?
  5. Tn doesn't care as long as you have em on state roads. On the interstate they want you to be fed bridge legal but I only know of 1 or 2 guys in 15 years to get popped. I was looking for a quad granite but I've about decided to get another RW and set it up like I want. I would love to find an RW Quad with an 18' body but they are scarce.
  6. yep, 10 or 8dir should be 1:1, the rtoo used an od back box, all the rto, rtlo 13,18 spds use a deep reduction back box so your splitter is dir-hi, while others are lo-dir, high gear or 9 dir is actually .74, 9-hi is .62 if I remember right, 8dir is 1:1, while an rto or rtlo is 8dir for 1:1 and 9dir for .74
  7. Im gonna call them tomorrow to see whats up with it, I figured one that looks that good at 100' somebody here has been up close to it, makes me nervous with so few pics and from that far away.
  8. OK Im back on the hunt for a dump truck and I found this one does anybody know anything about it? http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4688331
  9. what is the 88? RW? 713,613?
  10. Those models are ridonculously awesome, great MB garbage truck.
  11. He has it mounted backwards anyway, the dogs used to face the road. I can't understand where that price came from.
  12. the logo in the windshield you can just get done at any lettering shop , you tell em what you want for your dimensions and they'll cut it to your spec, the visor is a 7" stainless R series visor made by Dieters, you can get a drop visor cheaper than that one, and the air dam on the bumper is a south American thing don't know that they are available in the US but Im sure you could import one.
  13. From what everybody tells me Mother In Laws are about 40 below already how do you winterize one? IV of antifreeze while shes asleep?
  14. Um, the flatbed Superliner looks like its wanting a load of wood too.
  15. Hmmm, wanna sell em? For 700hp you don't need to do much, a turbo, injectors and pump settings will get you 700+ to the wheels reliably. Call Antrim Diesel they have what you need, they are quick on turn around on injectors too.
  16. Pos ground can be a pain, always double check your connections, a DC motor and solenoid, light bulb etc. doesn't really care which side is pos or neg so it may work a little but may also be turning backwards. Turn the engine by hand at least 2 full revolutions to make sure nothing is going on there, then check your connections and use a remote start switch with the life's clipped to the solenoid posts on the starter to spin it over, remember those wires are pos ground also.
  17. Looks too busy for me, I couldnt stand all the traffic!
  18. Just our of curiosity you haven't been running with a big difference in drive tire wear from front to rear and side to side have you? I have seen some issues with Mack rears that were supposedly caused by running tires that were almost gone on one axle and new on the other, cant be too far off with Mack rears the way the power divider and carriers are set up, definitely not from side to side.
  19. I got the same info on my 3.65's, they have the smallest gears in Mack rears, I think Im going to swap to 3.86 rears too, they have the same ring and pinion as a 4.17,4.42,4.64 supposedly, the top gears are the only difference. I know that unless the power divider is locked your putting all your power to the rear axle and it will run hotter on the road than the front, at least mine always have, seems like my old RW ran about 130-140 degrees hauling gross on the interstate in the summer, the front was always around 100. Its interesting you got the same info on the rear gear sets, Bill @ Winrock truck parts told me about it, hes supposedly going to find me a set of 3.86 or 4.17 carriers to swap for my 3.65's.
  20. Its awesome that the old B is still earning her keep, love to see old trucks on the road doing what they were built for.
  21. I got no desire to work on a crane after working on a few at the railroad, I think you have a neat piece of history there and it is a neat project but after working on a couple of Burro cranes, a Little Giant and an American Im out.
  22. Mack is rated at the Flywheel just like all the rest but I still think the old Macks were underrated by about 10%. I was told by the Maintenance Manager at Howard Baer that when they got their old R models with the 300plus in them they had to take one back for something and they had them dyno it and it made 300 at the wheels. I had another owner op here tell me he had the same thing and old 300+ that made 300 to the ground without touching a thing and would out pull a 350 Cummins up MtEagle any day of the week, he knows his trucks too, had a KT600 in a Freightliner and a 3408 Cat in a KW W900A model. Old Greasy told me he bought the R model 300+ Mack because it was on the lot and he was trying to piss off the KW dealer that said he couldn't sell him a truck he wanted ay cheaper, so he went and bought one just to prove he would, after they used it they loved it so they kept it for years after.
  23. HA, that's the quote I thought about as soon as they started, LOL, just something about those two together in a shop surrounded by truck stuff made me think about it!
  24. Its easier to rent not buy, that way your not looking over your shoulder all the time.
  25. hmmm, truck stop hot dogs after shipping? I think I'll pass, ID probably pass at the truck stop, lol!
