  1. Oshkosh M1070 HET (Heavy Equipment Transporter) that's the new Cat Acert powered version, no emissions stuff but I still wouldn't trust it, here's a pic of our old dependable Detroit 8V92 powered HET's.
  2. I'll take my dolls.....no wait, trucks and go home!
  3. Ha, old milk jug, that's the first thing I used. It was in the trash 20' from the trailer so I got it out, cut the bottom out of it and looped a bungee cord thru the handle to hold it on.
  4. that's a pretty nice step up in ride and comforts, good luck with it.
  5. Hey if 1st gear does a 1/64 R ill buy it, I hope they do a dump so I can put it on the shelf with the Granites.
  6. When did they go to the 8 and 10 bolt axles is it 65k or over that, or did they do away with them and go back to 8 bolt? I posted above they could be 44's without thinking 44's are 6 bolts not 8, I think the 58's are 8 bolt now but I know ive seen some 10 bolts somewhere.
  7. I think somebody needs to go save one of those trucks and get it back on the road to some shows, I vote MHE9 (Ray) to do it, hes close enough and he already has a detach to haul it home!
  8. I agree with Bull, if we can't keep it easy going it won't last. In my opinion if you don't want someone to share your pic, don't put it on the internet. I grant permission to anyone here to use any pictures I have taken and posted to this site, and you don't have to credit me for taking a picture of a truck its something I like to do.
  9. As soon as we get all our paperwork done and our accounts open I'll call you Mike. We were planning to have a first meeting/ member sign up after Thanksgiving.
  10. Anything with a cutting edge, the edge is supposed to face the rear. Those turbo savers are pretty cheap, you can make your own cheap. I have heard of a couple guys here getting tickets for hauling dozers loaded like your loader because of the edge facing forward.
  11. Gotta love the E9 in the 800 and the crew cab R, did you get that one done yet?
  12. yeah, just seems like there wasn't enough and it was only on the back of the loader pulling forward toward the truck, sucks for sure and being a nationalease truck and trailer it may have been something he rarely did. Just goes to show you can never be too careful, this stuff will kill you if you let it.
  13. Obummer said he didn't like our national anthem when he was campaigning, said it was very aggressive in nature and we needed to make it more peaceful. WTF MAN! freakin liberal nuts are going to give our country away if someone doesn't stop em.
  14. The northeast is Mack central for sure, I love the pics from up there, I just hate going there.
  15. if you look at the semi day light pic of it on the cab there is one binder near the chain on the loader on the ground and one on the other side at the front of the trailer nothing at the back, it seemed odd to me when it happened I remember looking at the pics I got on my email saying theres no chains on the back(front of the loader) and theres no stop sign or red light it had to just start rolling downhill. Hell I would have at least 5 chains on that sucker, one on each corner and one on the bucket, had stuff shift on me when I was getting started so Im more cautious now. Of course I used to haul 330 excavators with 4 binders on the grouser pads and no chains too.
  16. I see whats left of about a 5/16 chain on the loader but the thing on the road is a flag, I just looked again, no binder or other chain I can see.
  17. I had forgotten about this wreck until I stumbled on it today, I looked around at all the pics again and I can see the truck was going downhill and I don't see ANY chains or binders on the trailer, even if it broke loose there would be pieces of tem still laying there somewhere, I got nothing. http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/2013/01/13/clarksville-police-reports-man-dies-when-front-end-loader-shifts-on-his-flatbed-and-comes-to-rest-on-the-cab/
  18. Rutherford county highway dept is almost exclusively Mack trucks, only the two tons being other makes and TDOT is probably 70% Mack, almost all the heavy trucks are Mack again the two ton trucks are the other makes, mostly Freightliner and Sterling now. RCHD has a CH set forward lowboy truck and TDOT has a couple CL tri axle tracors and a couple CH set forwards, the only other heavy haul tractor I know of is an Autocar.
  19. TDOT and RCHD trucks, the RCHD truck has aluminum wheels, that was done by the driver, the guys that go to work there are there to retire and the county lets em fix up their trucks.
  20. Im sure those old US Army D7's weren't hard on the asphalt or anything. I remember growing up they used graders and wheel loaders to plow the streets here, the city and county together only had like 4 plows, and 2 of them probably didn't work. I think ever since the county highway dept here has bought Granites they are all equipped for plows and TDOT has bought who knows how many plow trucks in the last 20 years, of course most of the plows are on the original mold board still.
  21. Yeah that Mack is heavy alright, I bet it rides like crap with solid rear suspension, those could be 44k rears with 8 bolt cone axles, I don't remember what the 58k rears look like on the ends, I bet the NY guys do though.
  22. Peter is that a Sword models truck? You have definitely got good (expensive)taste in toys, I have always wanted to take a broken hood from an old R model and make a wall hanging shelf with it in the grille opening and headlight bucket openings just never got one.
  23. Glad everybody liked the video the next one should be even better, that black Pete is a 359 that started short like mine and David did all his own work stretching it and everything else he did, its come a long way I give him a lot of credit for what he did to that truck. Actually I have to give him credit for it, I am now the Acting President of the new Middle Tennessee chapter of the ATHS and David is the VP, we got kinda tired of hearing about people wanting a local chapter so we formed one.
  24. Cones? I used to put em on the shoulder almost every day going to Nashville, Id be in the second lane and have my turn signal on for a 1/4 mile or more and they would stay right next to me, speed up, slow down didn't matter so I would turn off my signal and start over. If your gonna be stupid you gotta be tough!
