  1. 13 letter poo spreaders there. and why cant people spec a truck out worth a shit, those trucs have painted mirror brackets and black mirrors, then they add a stainless spot mirror and spot mirror bracket, I saw one the other day that was exactly the opposite stainless mirror brackets and chrome mirrors and black painted spot mirror bracket and mirror, wth? I know they offer both so why cant international get them to match?
  2. True, Diesel is higher, and DEF is an added cost, however, the fuel mileage with a trailer is double with the diesel, the service intervals are longer, there are no spark plugs or coil packs to change and the engine is designed to last two to three times as long as the gas engine. I had a Duramax in my 2002 CHevy 2500HD, was a crew cab short bed 4x4, I had 318,000mi on it when I traded it in in july of 2011 and never did anything to the engine, I had to rebuild all the hubs, the power steering, replace the shocks, alternator, pretty much everything but the engine and the Allison transmission. If GM offered a small Diesel for the half ton trucks I weould trade mine tomorrow to get it, I actually was already on board to get the 6 cylinder Duramax they designed in 2002/2003 but they scrapped the project after the emissions rules got so damn screwy.
  3. Ha, I couldnt get eh boob comment in there first, oh well I was thinkin it, maybe just sign a hat for him to wear then.
  4. There was lots of talk about the federal emissions tax for cattle a couple years ago, I need to ask around and see what ever came of that, way I was explained you would be assesed a fee per head based on a weight chart for "cattle waste emissions". I wonder if we can charge washington for all the crap that comes out of their mouths under the same ruling?
  5. I wouldnt suggest new for this truck either but if your sold on it already, go look at what the other guys are using, look at what is most common, Im guessing in OH it will be a quad with about an 18 or 19' body. I doubt you want to go with the longer 6 axle truck, I know you will get more gross weight on the highway, however youll be limited in your work because of the length and ground clearance. I would go with a tri axle here in TN with a steel tub style body so you could haul anything anywhere but I have been told in OH you can get more work with a Quad in the past, I know you can gross more on bridge law for sure, just remember if you are going to be "wildcatting" or looking for whatever comes available you need a truck that will be very versatile. You may want to look into a quad with a steel tub "AR" body so you can haul anything and still get the gross up on the bridge law roads, a tub body made with 5/16 AR450 steel will stand up to shot rock and broken up concrete one day and still be smooth enough to go haul sand and asphalt the next day.
  6. In any of the newer electronic 2000,3000 and 4000 series we used allison transynd, in the older MT643 transmissions we used dexron 3 or above and it was covered by Allison and Weller Reman warranties. I think the transynd runs cooler than the dexron and it definitely stays cleaner, its full synthetic fluid so its probalby best, you can tell a big difference in the cleanliness when changing filters going from Dexron 3 to Transynd.
  7. Sweet, I really wanted to do that with mine but it just wasn't in the funds this time.
  8. Coming up soon, if anybody is going to be in the area stop by I'll be there all day Saturday the 19th.
  9. The DM is a pretty sweet old truck, its a 2 stick, a/c wood grain dash truck with 24.5 rubber. I have tried to buy it but Haynes won't sell it, I did hear that they have 2 R tractors for sale now.
  10. I got a couple more this week too....
  11. Yep, old R to newer RD is basic interior changes and wiring/plumbing changes. The big change was the cowl panel for the new hood design, im pretty sure it just changed on the drivers side though. Yes the Rd/RW difference is the passenger side cowl, and the hood rests/ breather setup on the firewall.
  12. When you go all the way up in 2nd at what rpm? It doesn't matter what gear your in as much as what rpm your running. If your dropping to 2nd I'm sure your trying to keep your rpm up, if you pull it all the way in 2nd your probably trying to get it moving pretty good. Try going up in 2nd with the rpm as low as you can so there is less load on the engine and therefore less fuel consumption. If it is a lift (supply) pump getting weak you will pull the fuel faster than it can pump it under a good load.
  13. Was supposed to be H or G. You get the idea one conventional one cab over from each era.
  14. OK I'm in, I'm also in for a Watts Mack RW/MH and R/F shirt, that could be a sweet idea. One for the RW/MH, R/F, B/Hot G I'm not the old old truck guy but having a series shirt could be awesome.
  15. It doesn't have to make sense if it comes from Washington, assessing fines for things that are unattainable is kinda their go to money maker.
  16. The first F looks putty good, old school work truck. I'm not sure about the bull bar on the MH, just seems weird to me.
  17. That sucks, it could be a sweet truck.
  18. Somehow I managed to not get everything I wanted on here and not notice. The song for the first video is available now on I tunes and amazon music, I'm sure elsewhere also. The song is by Rob Snyder and is called Ammo, if your a fan of the second amendment check it out.
  19. Oh yeah and where is the reference pic of this dual breather RW? as they say it never happened without pics.
  20. there were several options for bumpers and you could get an RW with either an underhood breather or single or dual external breathers, it just depends on what your dealer liked to order or what the "norm" for your area was. I have noticed the local "norm" all over the US, some places run things one way and everybody kind of falls in line or thats just what the dealer likes to order and other places do something different.
  21. You have a one of 220 truck with that engine in it, if you really want a 6 cylinder Im with the other guys, sell it and find another one or trade it for a 6 cyl truck, that thing is awefully rare.
  22. I think the unloader kit is a p/n 107515, I cant find it in my book here but that sounds right for a tu flo 750.
  23. the AD4 and AD9 are pretty similar, if the purge valve was leaking on the old one and putting the new one on has it running all the time I am guessing you mean the purge valve is popping off every minute or two. If so yes the unloaders in the head of the air compressor could be bad, its a simple $40 seal kit that takes about 20 minutes to do start to finish, also a constant purge signal can mean a leak in the unloader line from the dryer/tank to the governor. I dont know how your truck is set up but Im gonn guess the governor is on the side of the compressor and the dryer has the large hot air line from teh compressor, then the dry air line to tank and two 1/4" lines, one to tank and one to the governor. make sure your 1/4" lines are not leaking with some dish soap and water in a spray bottle, listen for leaks and watch for bubbles from one end of the 1/4" lines to the other, if there are no leaks there get the bendix unloader rebuild kit, it will have 2 springs , 2 back up seals, 2 o rings and a gasket, remove the batwing shaped plate on top of the compressor and remove the unloader valves, replace the seals on the valves, clean the sealing surface of the plate ans re install the valves and plate with the new springs, dont over torque the bolts that becomes a bad day.
  24. yep lift pump, also check the pickup tube in the tank to make sure its not gotten loose at the top or cracked and leaning back when going uphill pulling air(experience there). I would try to run iot at a lower rrpm, get it in 2nd and keep it under 1600rpm or so and see if it pulls on out if so your pulling the fuel supply down with the higher rpms and it points to a lift pump.
  25. if its dropping boost around 1700 its running out of fuel, fuel filters, throttle linkage, aneroid valve, lift pump, etc.
