  1. You want to cut Billions from federal expense, close half, not all just half of the overseas military bases and embassies, they dont want us there anyway and guess what ITS NOT OUR FIGHT!, then take all the politicians in Washington that get their full salary for life after being elected and drop that crap, you get paid for working not sitting in your fucking mansion drinking wine poured by some freaking immigrant butler. Yeah this crap pisses me off real bad. I cannot even begin to describe my discontent with them withholding military pay.
  2. That doesnt even mention its a 73 model and um well they didnt have the E9 in 73, not even close actually.
  3. Uhhhh, nobody else noticed that is an E9? just curious cause they didnt come in anything but RW, MH, RD800, and CL that I knew of.
  4. here ya go F model guys, somebody has to snatch this one up, an original Mack F model owners manual http://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-1966-MACK-TRUCK-OWNERS-MANUAL-ORIGINAL-MACK-F-SERIES-BOOK-PRINTED-12-65-/161115184872?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item2583369ee8&vxp=mtr
  5. I think the 988's were king until the 980G models came out, they were so much faster and more precise than a 988 they could load trucks out faster even with a smaller bucket. There are some Komatsus around here too, i dont know theyre numbers, WA500 and WA600 seem to stick in my mind, basically the same size as the 980G series but most I have seen have been joystick control machines. I think I remember being loaded by the 988C's with two buckets and they would be close but the guys that loaded two good buckets and one smaller bucket got your weight closer, the 980G's and H's are the same 3 buckets and your gone with 24 tons, theyre just quicker back and forth to the pile and seem to keep your weight closer to gross than the older 88's. I wish theyre were more old CAT loaders around here, the sound of the V8 engines was awesome, the newer loaders are all 6 cylinders with emissions and quiet mufflers, they suck.
  6. That is BULLSHIT! I can't believe this crap is being forced on us even with half of the medical field saying it will make everything more expensive. Bunch of fucking crooks! And Washington got to opt out of this but we can't! Grrrrrr.
  7. Sweet, most of the old stuff is long gone around here, its just too slow for em to load however many tons per hour they want to load. I remember Hurst had 3 or 4 old 988b's and c's they were neat old machines that would run for ever but they got sold off like everything else, I thin k the oldest loader in a quarry around herre is Hoovers 988F, I think its the newest version of the old 988 frame, it looks nearly identical to the one in your pic but the newer CAT paint job and its on joystick controls inside no steering wheel, I think they got it when the 988G series came out as a new old stock loader.
  8. You gotta get set up on a better price code at a dealer, I got a whole E9 filter kit for $42 the other day.
  9. That long hood R is pretty badass if I do say so myself.........and I do!
  10. Is that a 988B, old machine there, pretty slow loading out trucks, they are solid performers though. I think almost all the quarries around here have 980G-H size loaders for the yard work and 988F-G or 990's in the pit loading haul trucks.
  11. The really screwed up part is that the republicans offered several stop gap financing measures to keep it going with obamacare being the only thing to take a real cut but instead of trying to find some middle ground the dems just refused period. I just dont understand why they are fighting like a bunch of fucking 4 year olds knowing the people they represent are the ones that will suffer, you better believe they arent going to take no pay for the duration of this shutdown. Now why is it that national cememtaries and the national monuments and other national parks, etc had to be closed, as i recall they are just open to the outside, there is no one there to admit you, no electricity, so the govt spent who knows how many hundreds of thousands of dollars to hire security and pay law enforcement to patrol the areas and keep them cordoned off, uh why does that not make sense to me? I wonder if they will withhold all the welfare checks and all the free cell phones during this shut down, uh no why would they hurt their key source of voters. The new Healthcare reform bill is a piece of shit from one end to the other, I got a letter in the mail from work letting me know the new rules and that I am above the minimum standards so mine wont change until I have to use it, then my copays triple and after this contract is up our insurace that is capped at $200/mo now will also double. I love the way the act is worded it makes so little sense its hilarious, so one of the lines is that federal law requires each state to make a health care exchange to be used as a marketplace for healthcare insurance, and govornment subsidies are available for coverage purchased there but only if your employer does not offer health care insurance or it fails to meet the federal affordable coverage guidlines. Ok so the affordable coverage guidlines state that if the cost of a plan from your employer that covers you alone (single coverage) is no more than 9.5% of your yearly "household" income it is considered affordable, wtf? That means if I was married and my wife and i both earned $100,000/yr we would have household income of $200,000/yr so my single coverage is considered affordable if it costs less than $19,000/yr, are you freaking kidding me, thats almost $1600/month for single coverage! The plans also meet federal "minimum value" limits as long as the plan covers no less than 60% of the covered services. In conclusion if you have a household income of $100,000/yr, your insurance is considered affordable and has a legal minimum value if it costs you less than $9500/yr and if you have a major surgery that costs $100,000 you only have to cover $40,000 of the cost, wow, thanks obama for the great insurance there, only $49,500 out of pocket. I sure am glad Im not just goin this alone and having to come up with a ridiculous amount of money out of pocket or anything, I mean wow if I didnt have that great insurance I might end up owing medical bills for a few years.
  12. A friend used to have several, I thought ID never see a dog get so wound up again. Then I decided to get a puppy and went to look at some Malinois, holy shit those dogs are the size of a German Shepard with the energy of a Jack Russell. I ended up going with German Shepards, at least they chill out a couple hours a day.
  13. 1 4" straight pipe? Holy shit that's gonna be loud with a load.
  14. So has he made plans to go introduce the oil change place to his foot?
  15. "Yet another source of friction between CARB and truckers is the agency’s mandate for the installation of trailer skirts, to cut down on aerodynamic drag. The plastic or metal panels are placed between the wheels of the tractor and trailer. In addition, the agency is requiring the adoption of low-rolling-resistance tires to reduce road friction. The problem, in industry’s view, lies in CARB’s assessment of the benefits of that equipment. Shaw claimed the agency is basing its calculations on trucks driving at 62.5 miles per hour — seven and a half miles faster than the legal speed limit — 80 percent of the time. In reality, he said, carriers travel at 55 MPH about 40 percent of the time. As a result, said Shaw, CARB’s estimate of $3 billion in efficiency benefits delivered by the trailer skirts and special tires is really a cost to industry of $4 billion. In a statement, CARB replied that it “knows of no study arriving at those conclusions.” It asserted that skirts cut fuel consumption by 5.9% to 7.4% at test speeds between 60 and 62 MPH. But that’s still over the 55 MPH speed limit enforced on many of the state’s highways. In any case, the agency is sticking by its rules. Last summer, it released a study which credited the agency’s air-quality programs, especially those covering diesel fuel and engines, for an annual reduction of up to 13 percent in California’s carbon dioxide emissions." This is also awesome, the truckers show that the skirts and tires dont create the savings CARB shows under the 'LEGAL" speed limit of 55, only over it at 62.5mph, and CARB just reitterates the same information stating it "knows of no study arriving at those conclusions" and again stated the skirts and tires cut fuel consumption while speeding, so are they going to raise the speed limit to 62.5 mph?
  16. "The trucking industry is also upset over CARB’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) program, which mandates the increased use of low-carbon transportation fuels. Shaw said the standard “far exceeds the technological capability of engines we have in the fleet today. Currently, even the most modern engines cannot deal with more than a level of 20-percent biodiesel.” What’s more, he said, the use of biodiesel fuel at CARB-mandated levels would violate manufacturer warranties. CARB replied that it isn’t specifying which alternative fuels need to be used. And it refutes industry claims that there aren’t enough of them around to meet the LCFS. “These assertions tend to overlook the existence of low-carbon-intensity natural gas and electricity as fuel sources,” the agency said in a statement. In addition, CARB said, industry is dramatically under-estimating the amount of biodiesel that can be produced, while ignoring the growth of low-carbon sources such as corn oil and waste oil." I like this one, if you read it the truckers bring up the point that the Bio Diesel cant be used at a mixture level CARB wants, it will void engine warranty, then CARB says they "dramatically underestimate the amount of Bio Diesel that can be produced", LOL wtf man that is two completely different statements the truckers state a fact and the politicians state another fact that does n ot pertain to the matter!
  17. Im confused did we get it or not, looked to be worth saving to me.
  18. I think calling whats behind the wheel of most trucks "Drivers" is kind of an insult to some of us! The "new" "drivers" cant drive a manual transmission, if its not an automatic with ice cold air, collision avoidance, a flat screen tv, and a refrigerator they wont drive it. Hell I havent had A/C on the SUperliner since I bought it last year and its not even on my list of things to fix, I ran the first several years I drove a truck in one of two Brigadier dump trucks hauling asphalt with 4-55 air and Im still alive, ask one of these new guys to drive a truck with no a/c and theyll sue you.
  19. What is wrong with the manifold you have? contact Southeast Equipment company for 707 parts, call 706-798-7500.
