  1. A Superliner pic from a Superliner, freakin sweet.
  2. thats an old Neway, they re getting hard to get parts for , Neway quit making them years ago rogers Manufacturing in Nashville tried to buy the patent and keep making them since they were so reliable but Neway said no.
  3. Mudflaps from the original dealer are a neat touch, take care of those you probably cant get em like that anymore.
  4. From what I got from STAXX (Mike) at Mack of Nashville you shouldnt have any trouble getting that CL home.
  5. If they will let you run the weight with your 425's I would go for it. You aren't thrilled with their traction anyway so you can run em out on the tag and go get some better steers. You said your springs and chains were worn out on your tag, is it a new at tag with the coil spring lift? I have been looking into tag axles again lately and the newer steer tags are ridiculously light compared to the older straight axles. Between dropping four 22.5's for two 425 floats and changing to the lighter axle you might drop 500-1000# off your tractor.
  6. You can turn off the max rpm limit on newer trucks don't know about vmac 1. I don't know what limit there is to set with vmac 1 it could be roadspeed and it could be engine rpm, either way you'll need to go to Mack or someone with Mack Software to check it and up it.
  7. Have you called em Leslie? Its only 3 main people running that place they get pretty covered up.
  8. That's a helluva tranny cooler, looks like 1.5" hard lines going in.
  9. I was told by a Mack service manager, ex parts manager that Volvo has told them 15 years was the max Volvo will back a truck after that no parts will be produced and there will be no technical help thru corporate.
  10. My thoughts exactly, something about a super clean R model.
  11. Yeah but I can't remember it Vinny I just call em when I need something.
  12. There are several dump trucks here locally that run out there steers on the tag axle I might get into it when I get the next one, just depends on the axle arrangement Im looking at a quad so I would need low pro 22.5's but if I go with a tri axle ill run em out on the tag.
  13. sounds like you got a Moron in texas, they are legal to 20k per axle on trucks and trailers with 5 axles why not more? I cant see a 425/65 being able to carry more weight and they are legal to 20k too. if you put a steer tag on and just used your old steer tires on it to run them out you would have a great source of tires, just think you would never have to buy another tag axle tire again, just pull your steers and swap em out.
  14. What are they using the cooler and electric fans behind the cab for on that Volvo?
  15. where did you get that pic of Rays twin, cangt be him he took all his shiny stuff off for fuel mileage, whatever that is! LOL! The truck looks great with the heavy bumper and the stacks and visor back on it.
  16. I have a place in Nashville I use, dont know until I see what you got if its doable, let me check with Bill @ Winrock to see if he has an old U emblem laying around I could get re chromed, you just need the emblem from the drivers side cowl in front of the door right?
  17. You should be able to adjust the idle setting at the pump mechanically, there shouldn't be any air in the cylinder at idle, should be under return spring tension.
  18. I don't think you'll ever get a dual wheel steerable on there. Best Specialized hauls all of our equipment at CSX and they run low pro 24.5 steers, 445 super single tags and 455 super single drives, told me they run 18k steer and 20k on the rest. And when I say super. Singles I don't mean float steers they are the 445/55-22.5's
  19. How much weight do you need it to carry?
  20. Hmmm, a meet of movie trucks, rubber duck mack, smokey kW, BJ kW this could be sweeeeeet.
  21. you got it right the first time. CRAP!
  22. And another old Mack is safe at home, all in all a good day!
  23. Yeah floats up front, tag axle down, and a wet curve = possible fun rides for sure, I have taken one of those in a dump truck but I only made it to the shoulder (of course I crossed three lanes to get to it). I was coming into a right hand curve and when I turned the wheel I just went straight, I hit the tag axle switch and by the time the weight came up the left steer was in gravel and it straightened up, I think I was down to like 5mph or so I was almost stopped, long trip across a turning lane and an oncoming lane though! Glad all is ok and no damage, those rides are definitely not fun and we dont need to take me if we dont have to, you ready for a steer tag now? lol!
  24. well thats all under one head so Id bet for a head gasket or some type valve or rocker shaft shaft issue if your having trouble from one pair of cylinders in an E9, got 1-2 frt right, 2-3 back right, 5-6 front left and 7-8 back left, pull the valve cover on that head and see if the shaft is broken or there is a smoking gun staring back at you, if not pull the head and see what the gasket looks like. Its actually really hard to diagnose a problem from, why have two cylinders on my truck died, need more info.
  25. Brutus you feel like parting with one of those Quads? I am looking to go back to the dump truck business and im looking for a truck right now.
