  1. You guys are gonna make me empty some boxes and take some pics. I've sold or traded probably 30-40 die cast trucks over the last few years, most went right before I went overseas so I didn't have to pack em up.
  2. those step deck trailers do have an awful nice stage up front, I bet we could get a few rows of seats in there behind the "stage" for shows at the next truck show, you want me to make a couple calls to line up the appropriate "talent"?
  3. What? nooooo.... its a 53', a 40' on spoke 20" wheels is low income housing!
  4. And the neighbors never heard it thanks to my trusty suppressor....... I mean they would never hear it, yeah thats it, I havent ever done that before!
  5. Macattack, if you go to a Mack parts dept and find an older Mack parts guy, like Barry they can put in a change request to Mack that will give them the p/n's needed to add shocks to the front of the truck, or like I stated before just make the brackets for the axle and put a stud or long bolt in the frame for the top, I think Gabriel or Monroe used to make a bolt on shock kit for early big trucks that was a lower bracket that clamped to the spring behind the axle and you put a stud in the frame, the kit had measurements needed.
  6. I put a Hyper White PIAA bulbs in my RD's and Granite, made a huge difference and has the added bonus of looking cool at night.
  7. Well if its an 88 its not got a stock 400, however you can swap engines I know where there's an E6 Superliner that has an E7 in it now. I always thought a mechanical Mack 350 ran awfully well, great throttle response and low end. As for reliability they are hard to beat, I know where a 93 CH with an E7 400 is that's never had the heads off, same for a 95 350 actually.
  8. I have Dynaflex parts and United Pacific stacks and reducers on mine, I dig my 6 stacks, you can get a set of stacks with internal mufflers that woiuld be nice with a 6 cyl truck the E9 trucks arent that loud but a 6 cyl will be loud.
  9. Ive used Dynamat in two trucks and a car, awesome stuff, made my 84 RW as quiet inside as my 04 Granite Im kinda the name brand guy I guess, if someone else is making it at a cheaper price its probably a cheaper product and things like that I only want to do once. Now if were talking something like spray paint for steel targets in the back yard thats the .99 cent spray paint, but for things that require a lot of effort I buy the expensive stuff.
  10. I have tried to think, I dont think I have ever had a steer tire blow on any truck, I had an 11R24.5 go down fast on me cause I picked up a bolt on the interstate, but I have run everything from 11R22.5's up to 425's and 11R24.5's on the steer of a dump and never had one go bad hauling 74000+ on triaxles. I guess the big thing is what are you willing to do yourself cause everybody is different, I know a lot of guys never even check their tires till one is flat but I have a pretty serious habit of putting a guage on all mine at least once a week and ill play with my tire pressure constantly trying to get more even wear of better traction/stability( I have a little issure with OCD).
  11. Too dangerous? They hauled 80,000 on tandems with 11and 12r24's in NY for years that's way over, and there are several here on 11r22/24's running 74k. I agree its better to have the capacity but even on 425's your over with your tag axle up the way most guys load toward the front of the bed.
  12. What's the name of the artist I can't make it out.
  13. Itll probably end up looking something like this.....http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4042911
  14. The 04 I had came with 385's and I went to 425's, they were $100 more a piece but I figured they would help out on ther weight off road, they actually were really close on wear and I couldnt tell a difference in the floatation in soft ground between the two. I am all for having more tire than you need but there are a lot of guys here running 11R24.5's on the steers with 18 and 20k axles and on a triaxle running 74000 when you lift the tag your putting about 20000 on the steer, at least thats what mine carried when I weighed it axle by axle.
  15. As long as the trailer brakes are set ( red valve out) having the lines connected or not won't make a difference, the tractor protection valve is there to keep the truck from losing air pressure if the trailer gets a major leak. You can test the tpv by releasing the trailer brakes (push the red valve in) and remove the trailer emergency line (red line) air will rush out of the gladhand for a minute but at the set pressure the tpv will pop and close the trailer valve so you don't lose all the air in your tractor. If your truck is losing air at a rate less than the DOT standard just let it go unless its really bugging you. I'm surprised you dont use the tractor parking valve (the blue valve) its possible its been bypassed and you could have a leak there.
  16. Hai was thinkin the other one needed to go to 385's, I had the 425's on my last Granite they're aight but 385's are lighter and cheaper and I'm going for light weight more than anything.
  17. Anybody know anything about Destiny Delivery service out of Ashland KY? Im looking pretty seriously at some of their trucks. http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4463237 Heres on in IN I am pondering too, both are within a couple hundred pounds on light weight so no big change there, same engine, trans etc. http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4180503
  18. M Drive or not just getting a bulldog on the hood is better than where your at now.
  19. Looks like a coal hauling Mack in the making in that last pic, not too many big rubber spoke wheel Granites anywhere but coal country.
  20. That last pic wasn't far enough to the left, that Superliner grille is teasing me since I can't see the whole truck.
  21. the cab fresh filter company makes filters that go over the air intakes outside on the cowl, they help a lot I got em installed during my clean out and I actually have always tried to keep my dump trucks on low and recurculate in dusty areas because of the dirty air issue, if your driving thru dust, your sucking it into the AC and its sticking to the wet evaporator guaranteed.
  22. sounds like the evaporator and heater core are stopped up pretty bad, I had this issue whe I bought my 2004 Granite, the guy that drove it before i bought it kept the AC on low so it was pulling in outside air at all times he never turned it off or put it on recirculate. The big issue there is that the Granite pulls its air in from the bottom of the windshield and the dust durin a days time rolls down the windshield and gets sucked right in the A/C, I took the heater core and evaporator out and you could barely see thru them, I cleaned them out, cleaned the box, put a new dryer in and charged the system, it was like night and day. I was having trouble keeping it under 85 degrees in there in the summer, after I did the clean out I had to keep it turned down or open a window it would freeze you out even when it was 90 outside.
  23. Im looking at starting a new ATHS chapter in TN with about 5 friends and we are already talking about a convoy/cruise in the fall if the year and a show in the spring.
  24. How Rude! LOL
