  1. Ha don't ya hate it when that happens, lol
  2. Good luck with the swap, post the results and the parts you used for others when you get done.
  3. Superdog I have been asking that question since about 2004 when they started going backwards with longevity.
  4. that thing had to be redone in the not too recent past, it looks like its an 84 back not an 85 and its got the late 90's era visor, the air tanks are definitely Hayward style, sure its not an 84?
  5. Ya know, I dont think I would do any more to that truck Mike it looks killer just as is, it has the old school big power look, if you put a sleeper and dual exhaust on it it might be too short and it will definitely change the whole look. Well I guess I would wash it every now and then but thats about it, lol.
  6. Antrim Diesel in PA is the place, they can do whatever you want and it will be right when you get it, you can send them to get fixed up and they say theyll have em back in a week, lots of guys on here have dealt with them and I havent heard anything bad yet. Just out of curiosity what turbo are you using, and how hot is your pump? the throttle response issue may be too big a turbo housing for your engine for quick response, its kind of a pain to get the numbers right I played with the flow charts and numbers on my E9 for a couple weeks before I settled on a turbo.
  7. Well here we go, on an E9 with an Ambac pump there is a rectangle plate with 6 bolts on the rear top of the pump this is the governor housing, there should be a lock wire thru a couple of the bolts but unless you have a seriously extended warranty thats nothing you need. Cut the lockwire off and remove the 6 bolts and then the top of the governor housing, inside there is a bolt eith two nuts right on top, this is the high speed fuel stop, you want to move it toward the front of the engine, back off the jam nut on the back of the stop and tighten the nut in front until you move the stop forward (toward the front of the engine) then snug the rear jam nut, most people say to try a round then adjust more if desired, I say to try about 3-4 turns at a time then adjust as desired. Once thats done go to the back of the governor housing, there is a pipe plug with a lock wire thru it, should be the same lock wire as the top, remove that plug and if you look in from the top youll see an allen set screw in the middle of the fuel governor lever that will be just inside of the plug hole this is the droop screw or mid range fuel adjustment. Using an allen wrench loosen (counterclockwise) that set screw about two turns at a time till you get the desired effect mine is pretty much maxed out on both adjustments and my puff limiter is gone, I get all kinds of black smoke when I want it now and it will pull just about anything, if you still want more power I have the p/n for a couple of turbos you can get that will really give you some more power and then you can always get a set of injectors from Antrim Diesel in PA, they use the Au 610hp nozzles adn then extrude hone them to whatever you want, supposedly a 20% over pump with 25% over injectors and their 80mm Borg Warner turbo will do 800-900rwhp, thats putting you around 1000hp and 3000lbft on the flywheel and your clutch WILL die young just ask MHE9. Hope that helps it should get you some more power and scare that Cummins a little, I can give you the numbers for the parts you need to walk away from the Cummins on any hill if you want em just pm me.
  8. Learned data reset, staxx is tired.
  9. Get a E9 V8 you'll be happy! Or change the mounts and go with an E7, E6, KT,903 or Big Cam Cummins, 3406, 1693, 3408, 8V92, 12V71, its a BIG hood so pretty much whatever.
  10. This one fits for sure.
  11. Hmmm, I always put a smaller wheel(18") in my trucks for a little more room and easier to spin but this seems like a sweet idea. I'm with superdog on the dash switch for deep reduction , then you can use the chrome knob for high low or the push pull and a sweet o.g. shifter top ball with a Mack emblem in it.
  12. Hmm, with an auto shift transmission it should do ok, you won't be king of the hill for sure but with the limited mileage it seems like a waste of money to buy more truck.
  13. Yeah from what I can tell the truck is perfect!
  14. The book says 13-21 for an E9-400, 17-25 for an EC9-400 so your in range for a stock engine actually. I can tell ya how to turn up the governor on the pump.
  15. 17 stock bobtail ain't far off, mine wasn't far from that, is it 17 loaded?
  16. On most old trucks and newer trucks actually the primary filter got the big stuff and protects your lift pump, the secondary gets all the smaller junk the primary leaves behind and protects the injection system. I would have to have something in front of the lift pump, maybe not the mesh but some kind of filter.
  17. Hmmm, I do like a Superliner but classy? I dunno id probably have to go with the LTL also but the B70 series is close.
  18. here she is.........it might be Vlads truck!
  19. Oh and Freightliner has market share becuase they will sell trucks cheaper than anyone else and those big companies buying the large numbers of trucks that account for 80% of yearly US truck sales go with the lowest bidder not the best truck. The other 20% are the guys that want what works best for them or they like best, not neccessarily the cheapest they can get when buying 50 or more at a time.
  20. KW's are nice trucks and the Paccar trucks have always had a nicer cab than a Mack, one thing is for sure it was never the Mack cab that sold them it was the Mack chassis and drivetrain, the parts that are working out ok for chu613. I have never been in a Mackvo (2007 up Mack) for very long, only a few runs so i cant comment on them other than the one I drove seemed to be pretty nice and thye fit and finish was good but it was not a high end truck. I think 3P needs to get a copy of chu613's post above to his management in the cab and interior depts, I havent heard much in the line of issues in the chassis dept it always seems to be whats above the frame rails they have problems with. As far as going with a KW instead of a Mack, hey its your money nobody but you is gonna pay for it so you need to be the one thats happy, I think KW's are great trucks, I have issues with the Cummins emissions stuff on my Freightliner all the time but I hear good things about the MX engines so far.
  21. Ever notice how we export more old Macks than anything else, I wonder why that is? hmmm, I bet we wont be exporting many 07 up Mackvos when their time comes.
  22. I'll try again later
  23. I just passed one of those on I40 in TN, large fur sure.
  24. (Vinny) "BOOBS!"
