  1. Our nation in general does ot create anything anymore, most of our technology is now imported from asia, drives me freakin nuts!
  2. I don't see any flags or oversize warning materials, I'm tellin lol, I used to move 330 Cat excavators with 4 binders from the tracks to the trailer and nothing else. Its amazing what you can get used to.
  3. New meaning for a shack on the back!
  4. I was gonna holler at you on my last trip to Winrock but I was in a hurry, Bill wants to see my truck so I'll be headed there again before long and bringing the Superliner this time.
  5. Call Winrock Truck Parts they have new and used Mack grilles 800-676-0052, if they can't help call Phil at Global Truck Traders 603-239-7008
  6. That yellow and white RL has probably the hardest to find grille and bumper of any Mack good thing they're straight. I always liked the long hood R's, like Mack power in em though.
  7. Ahhh, ok the bridge messed with me.
  8. Yeah Vinny, the RW went back to the guy I bought it from, the CH to a friend that runs it every day and the Granite to another local company with another friend driving it.
  9. Ya know nobody has ever mentioned I had two left mirrors on the 84, I swapped em out to right and left gold dog mirrors pretty quick after I got it cleaned up and running. Mike did you get a Mack y pipe or generic? I went generic and built my own exhaust under the 85, couldn't stand the Mack E9 5" y pipe pricetag.
  10. Nope Vinny I got rid of that one when I decided trucking sucked and I wanted to pay off all my bills. Sold these too......
  11. Just for fun everybody get on google maps or google earth and look up 5535 Harrman Highway, Oliver Springs TN, 37840, then zoom in and put it on 45 degree view. I love that place theres just not enough cash in the bank and hours in the day to hang out there too long.
  12. I worked for someone that had two D400's and a D250, they turned the body on the D400's over almost weekly cause they thought they were invincible, drove me nuts watching them use them like mud boggers of course then I had to take the brakes apart and clean all the dried packed in mud out so they would work again. On a side note I passed a peterbilt on Mt Eagle pulling a D400D behind the 84, man I was so happy to embarass that guy. Looks like the Hwy 41 Bridge over Nickajack about the 160 mile on I24 at the rest area to me and the second one is on Mt Eagle on the east side about the 138 milepost.
  13. thought I might do a silver roof too to keep down on heat in the summer and match the stripes.
  14. If I ever get the cash to paint the 85 I want to use this paint design, just go with the dark metallic blue where the white is and a metallic silver where the green is, the old school stripes on it now are neat but they dont match the body lines and its killin me, oh yeah I have OCD if you havent guessed! should be spelled CDO then the letters are in alphabetical order like they should be, LOL
  15. Im 12.6" to the top of my stacks, they are 96" 6" miters on 6" tight radius elbows, I almost bought the 102's, glad I didnt now. I did the one temporary stack thing on the 84, never got it un temporaried though I kinda liked the look of the one stack Mack after I ran it like that a while.
  16. Shes looking great, I need some of that extra cash so I can get mine painted and get some good tires on it, Im spent out for this year I think.
  17. Well with a Mack OD trans (with .68 OD) 44" tall 11r24's and 4.17 rears your looking at 1500rpm @70 great cruising rpm for a Mack engine they build torque best from 14-1600, at least thats where all of mine have run the best. if you swap to a 1.1 top gear Allison, keeping the 11r24.5's and 4.17 rears your looking at 2200rpm @ 70, I just couldnt make the swap to a direct automatic from a Mack 13, I am all for vocational trucks to be equipped with an Allison but the gearing is just wrong here. Going to a 4.42 rear keeping everything else the same gets you 1600 @ 70, 4.64 rears would be 1700, and swapping to 22.5's with 4.17 gets it to 1650, with 4.42 and 22.5's = 1750. Why does he want to swap it to the Allison? what is it primarily used for and how much time does it spend off road? I think there are better options out there for a CH than an allison especially one obviously set up for on road use.
  18. He's learnin! damn I lost 50 bucks! LOL!
  19. There is absolutely no way I would feel guilty after that pleasure! NONE!
  20. Behind the right side dash panel to the left of the fuse/relay panel. You'll need to take out the 4 Phillips head screws holding it in and there right there to the right.
  21. Ding,ding......ding,ding,ding...ding...ding,ding.
  22. Don't even get me started on how much cheaper the tags and insurance were!
  23. Everybody in dump trucking here has a triaxle and when I was running mine I pondered a single axle with a tag long and hard. I kept getting calls for 5-10tn and it just never worked out well you ended up in a hole the truck barely fit in and made squat after fuel. I looked at 30-33k gvw international, ford and gmc's, with a 10' bed versus a 16 and a single axle you could get into those back yards with sand, gravel and mulch a lot easier. Take into account the fuel savings running a 6-8liter engine versus a 12-15 liter and you would have the same profit margin if you kept it busy.
  24. Gotta love a 1 stack Mack with a window in the back.
  25. +1, I hate the cold, can't freaking stand it under 50 degrees I'm much happier around 80-90 than 50 or below. I keep a long sleeve t shirt in my truck just to wear in restaurants that keep their thermostats set in the 60's.
