  1. Compressor ordered! I think any of the compressors in this topic would serve anyone well. I decided to go with the deere which is made by Mi-T-M Corporation, just dressed out in deere green (Deere gave me the best deal). There were two main reasons for my decision, one is the 29 CFM @ 175PSI (wow, so a lower PSI will have more CFM), the other is my deere dealer is with in 5 miles from me for service and there is also a Mi-T-M service/dealer about another 5 down the road. So parts or service shouldn't be a problem if a problem occurs. I appreciate eveyones help and I hope this topic helps some other dude in the future. I've listed my decision below for referrence. Thanks! http://www.deere.com/wps/dcom/en_US/products/equipment/home_and_workshop_products/air_compressors/gasoline/ac2_30ghs/ac2_30ghs.page? http://www.mitm.com/products/air-compressors/30-gallon-two-stage/ABS-13H-30H/548/
  2. I appreciate all the input. I'm trying to figure out which bank to rob to come up with the extra few hundred to buy a Quincy or IR . I'm really liking this one with the pressure lubricated pump. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200500489_200500489
  3. Yeah, I need some air volume..Got a Deere 200C excavator and 750C dozer. Cleaning the radiators and cooling coils can be a fun job, not to mention the cab and air filters. Never had a real good compressor, I think mine runs about 6 CFM. Good enough for around the house and shop, but the time has come! I never have been a fan of all the throw away stuff these days, I like buying things to keep.
  4. We have a new contender.....29 CFM. Should have a price Monday, but my dealer said he thought the last one he sold was around $2300. http://www.deere.com/wps/dcom/en_US/products/equipment/home_and_workshop_products/air_compressors/gasoline/ac2_30ghs/ac2_30ghs.page?
  5. The Quincy's are nice but to get one with comparable specs is out of my range. I like the IR Compressors but there's a $539 difference between the NorhStar that has almost identical specs. The Chicago Pneumatic is comparable too with a $177 difference. That's based on the best deals I've found. They all have the Honda GX390 engine. I think any of the three would do the job. I've listed a comparison below but I can beat the price on the IR and CP, it's just for comparison. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/CompareProductsDisplay?storeId=6970&catalogId=11652&langId=-1&catentryId=350443&cr=4.4&numR=5&catentryId=200596488&cr=4.9&numR=21&catentryId=200347525&cr=&numR=0
  6. I'm leaning toward the NorthStar. It's a USA company located MN. Seems to have plenty of CFM's to clean out those clogged radiators and run a 1 in impact if need be.
  7. Hello everyone! Looking at buying a new gas air compressor and would like hear everyone's input. I need to keep it around the $2k range. I'll be using it mainly for my heavy equipment repair and service, blowing out radiators and filters etc. Here's what I've got it narrowed down too, but I'm open to suggestions. Let me know what you think and thanks! http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200596488_200596488 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Maxair-30-Gal-Premium-Industrial-Truck-Mount-11-HP-Honda-Electric-Start- Air-Compressor-11G30TRKE-H-MAP/203175774#specifications http://www.aircompressorssolutions.com/13-hp-gas-reciprocating-air-compressor---30-gallon---horizontal---25-3-cfm-by-chicago-pneumatic---8090250609.aspx
  8. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! Looking for some good tips on the best way to clean a rusty hydraulic tank. I've been watching video's of people putting small pebbles/sand in the tank and strapping them to tractor wheel that's up off the ground. Put the tractor in gear and letting the pebbles polish the inside of the tank. Some of them are quite funny, but seems to work?
  9. I know nothing of the truck just run across it searching for a dump truck on craigslist. Looked interesting, thought I 'd share with you guys. http://bham.craigslist.org/cto/3669300746.html

  12. Thanks for all the feed back! Went with the Spectra Precision LL300-2 Laser Level Package. And here's where I found the best price. http://expresstools.com/SPECTRA-LL300-2-laser-level-package-case-rod-clamp-rod-and-aluminum-tripod.aspx
  13. This reminds me of when I first started operating, the guy I worked with used a jug of water and long clear hose to level with. It worked to say the least...
  14. Ok, here's what I come up with, I've narrowed it down to two. http://www.amazon.com/CST-RL25HCK-Horizontal-Exterior-Self-Leveling/dp/B008OQHMIK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346271892&sr=8-1&keywords=CST%2Fberger+RL25HCK http://www.expresstools.com/SPECTRA-LL300-2-laser-level-package-case-rod-clamp-rod-and-aluminum-tripod.aspx Tell me what you think.
  15. Thanks randyp, I've read good veviews on Bosch. Do you have to have your calibrated often? I'm not planning on playing football with it or anything...
  16. Thanks for the information. I'll call a local surveyor I know and see what I can get out of him. Didn't realizer there were so many options.
  17. Hello everyone, it's been a while. I hope all is well. I'm in the market for a new Self-Leveling Rotary Laser and I was hoping someone could give me some tips on brands etc. I'm in excavation so I'll be using it out doors for shooting grades mainly. As always your help is appreciated!
  18. I appreciate the interest, but this machine has SOLD!
  19. Here's a few photos. Haven't had time to pressure wash it or anything, but she runs and operates like a champ!
  20. That'll be great. I'll get some pic's up when I get the hood and stuff back on. Got it apart now servicing it.
  21. Hello Randy, I'm asking $6500 the way it sits. I'm on the look for track adjusters now and that cost will be added if I find them before someone purchases it. I'm not sure about the year, it has the direction reverser (allows you to go grom Foward to reverse without clutching) so I'm thinking it's probably later 70's. The tracks are in great shape, I'll guess they are at least 80%.
  22. Thanks Mack. No kiddn' lol... I just loaded the dozer and was headed home. Give me a new appreciation for power steering. I felt every dimple in the road threw the steering wheel and those winding roads were hell.
  23. Hello everyone, I've got a 350BE with a winch and 6 way blade for sale if anyone is interested. It runs and operates great. Just replaced several worn hyd. hoses. The only thing I know that it needs, other than a new home, would be the track adjusters. I'll post some pics soon. Very straight metal and hour meter reads 1070, could use some paint if you like em shiny. Let me know if your interested.
